Stuff like this has happened to my Vikings in the playoffs time & time again over the years. It's so nice that the Vikings were on the other side of it, this time in a playoff game! That doesn't mean I don't feel for Marcus Williams, the Saints & their fans. Vikings fans know that feeling all to well, believe me!

One of the best games I've ever saw.

A lot of Saints fans were being really harsh on Williams yesterday. And understandably so. To the casual fan it looked like Williams just made a terrible play..But I've been going around trying to explain that it wasn't as bad as it looked. Williams got to the ball sooner than he expected. If he had gone for the wrap-up tackle with his arms there was a good chance he would have been called for interference. So Williams chooses to go for the legs and try to disrupt the catch that way in the hopes that Diggs dropped it on the way to the ground and also stayed in bounds. But again, he got to Diggs sooner than expected, his blood was pumping full of adrenaline and he was about to make the biggest play of his rookie season. And the above all else. The guy was thinking "DONT GET THE INTERFERENCE CALL!" So right before the moment of impact, Williams hesitated to avoid the call...So more than anything, he made the smartest possible move there was for the given situation. And Diggs was just as lucky that he didn't step out or lose his balance...My hats go off to the Saints, and to Drew Brees. And of course to Williams..Don't let the world get you down. You did the right thing and made the right personal call...

as a neutral fan, this game was everything great and everything cruel about the unbelievable game of football.

The game was played for 60 minutes......not 10 seconds. Brees throwing two picks in the first half ? Is that the safetys fault ? Is it the defensive coordinator who is calling the plays? Why be in a cover 2 with 10 seconds left ? A 12 year old kid playing Madden knows that you don't play cover 2 with 10 seconds left in the game. The Saints could have had a timeout left to reset the defense but the Head Coach was challenging plays that was inconclusive ( if it's inconclusive they stick with the call on the field, duh) The Saints played 60 minutes and lost the game. .....they didn't just play the final 10 seconds. Why even rush the quarterback on that last play? Why not rush 2 drop 6 to cover the sidelines and keep 3 men deep? I guess the world will blame that one on the players too! The Saints team lost the game.

Not sure what everyone saw (not a Saints or Vikings fan). Looks to me like the Saints DB threw the game...if he didn't, gross incompetence...Look at the film from the db's prospective. The safety never looks up to make a tackle...instead he runs by and throws himself into the wrong guy....

W/O light pass interference call's nobody is seeing the Saints skill for skill. Those ref's did a good job of putting that fear in those young talents. Good job ref's.

Marcus Williams did not expect Stefon to jump for the ball, like the Seahawks did not expect Malcolm Butler to jump the route on the 1 yard line, in both instances it was a great play by both players.

Before that, the Saints made a strategic mistake in offense: 40 seconds left with 1st down in the 4th quarter, they were going for passing and allowing the clock to be stopped. Instead, they should have gone for 3 running plays (they did get only 5 additional yards anyway) and force the Vikings to use their remaining two timeouts. Let the clock run down to 5 seconds and use your own timeout to go for the field goal in the 4th down. Game over.

Odd how things can be in the NFL. One unknown named Stefon Diggs of the Minnesota Vikings makes one great offensive play and becomes the talk of the sport. Just like that. Recall a few years ago, when another yet-unknown player named Malcolm Butler of the New England Patriots made a great defensive play in the Super Bowl and became "the talk of the sport." The irony? Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there a lot of talk among the "insiders" and sports-working press that Butler was being dealt from the Patriots to the Saints after the 2016 season? It was all but certain, and working-sports press went on for months about it, but it never came off. Small world, perhaps. Maybe if that cornerback Butler had been traded to the Saints as expected, perhaps that free safety Marcus Williams wouldn't have drawn that assignment yesterday. But to me, it's odd how things can be. Butler, who made one great play that made him, might have been among those to stop the one great play that Diggs made. A play that made him as well. Am I the only one who saw that connection yesterday? Two unknown, unheralded players on opposite sides of the field and from different teams both found a measure of fame through one play. One play. And from what I heard early last year, it could have been Butler who would have squared off against Diggs, perhaps -- and could things be so strange as the former "unknown turned known" could have been there against the NFL's now "unknown turned known." If those two have a chance to square off in the upcoming Super Bowl, it appears they both have a lot in common that way.

In middle school football, you’re taught to Always, ALWAYS tackle with your head up-never down. Aside from the injury consequences to it, the missed tackle can prove the difference between a lunge loss or a big Win. Marcus Williams will go in Witness Protection for a few weeks.😂😂

Man, all marcus williams had to do was catch diggs when he came down and keep him in bounds. He didn't even have to risk playing the ball which could lead to a penalty, or trying to hit him

What was my reaction? Tears of joy. I just want to say, cuz nobody else is, Marcus Williams miss timed his hit and was early and he knew it. He was caught(in his mind) in between making the tackle and not getting called for pass interference. I f you watch this play in slow motion, Marcus Williams is hitting his own player when Diggs is catching the ball, same time. He is clearly well beyond Diggs, this would have been pass interference and a field goal from there to end it anyway. SKOL 4ever

that was one play, what about the interception and all the holding a pass interfering calls. This just happen to be the last play but all of the things I mentions had just as big of impact on their lose.

Vikings win NFC championship? I don't know about the eagles offense though, they only scored field goals against the 8th best defense in the league(falcons) and it is at home so I don't really know
