What a great guy and rundown! I did the same tuner out always on trick with the micro pog for years and then later the same idea with the Zvex SHO’s second output.

Great vid- why do you need to take your volume pedal out of the circuit and through the boost?

Hey! I’ve found with some volume pedals there’s a little bit of a tone loss, especially with the Ernie balls. For some it’s not an issue, but it always bothered me a little so that’s why I went with this route!

With any compressor, if there’s noise in the signal path then the compressor is only going to amplify it. The pedal itself is not noisy, no compressor pedal is unless it’s broken. But if there’s noise in the signal then yes!

Seems like this guy could benefit from embracing the Line 6 Helix. He could ditch everything he has and have more flexibility and only have his two guitars and the Helix to have to carry anywhere with him. It has all the amp sounds he would need including that AC30. And they pretty much have every pedal within reason that he has. I have seen more and more touring musicians switching to Helix just due to the fact it is one board they have to load up and the footprint is way smaller than a big pedal board. I guess some guys are old school and like the pedal board setup.

@@ronnieshirley9711 I somewhat agree with you that a real tube amp has a great sound. But with IR's and the great flexibility that Helix has in tweaking it you can get the same sound and feel. I have owned tube amps specifically a Fender deluxe and the Line 6 Helix version is so close it would take a sound engineer to know the difference. I have gigged out with amps and having to lug everything around gets old. Being able to just load up my guitar and my backpack with my Helix is a heaven sent. So I would have to say agree to disagree on this.

Guitarists like this guy who say "this guitar can cover any and all the sounds that i need", but then they have another 5 guitars behind them.. Where have the loyal, monogamous guitarists gone, who have only one guitar and maybe a spare? Even Christians lusting after more with their eyes..
