Today the Rig Dr. sits down with Michael Pope. Michael influenced the guitar sounds of CCM music since he began with Bethel Music in 2013 and helped shape the voice of modern CCM guitarists with his ambient hooks and textures. Michael now resides in Nashville where he now does sessions and production for all musical styles and artists.

Michael Pope was actually my influence for turning the gain up in Christian music, and him and Jeffrey certainly made an impact on how I approach tone and riff writing

I play for an awesome upcoming church with campuses in Alabama and Tennessee and man I feel like the Steel String pedal is really coming up in the Worship music scene, it’s next on my list can’t wait to get one!

Vertex Effects yup! I’ve had the boost now for a year or two. And I’m redoing my board next week and adding the steel string and the Ultraphonix. I’ve been using them for the last 3 months trying them out live.
