Lets compare "Nicks", Ritchie the Ex Bruin who's now a Leaf and Nick Foligno who was a Leaf and is now a Bruin. NR= 8 years younger, 25lbs heavier, 3" taller his cap hit is $1.25M less than Foligno's. 2021 Season Totals: Nick F 7G 13A in 49 games. Nick R 15G 11A in 56 games. A clear win for the Leafs and Kyle Dubas.
Yeah they offered foligno… who is nowhere near is good as his dad… 33 mil for like 5 years or something haha… Ritchie is the way! Foligno was an idiot, who couldn’t even score
I liked Nick Foligno a lot. He reminds me of his father on that '93 team. Like his dear ole dad, he was tough, a real heart and soul guy, fought, stood up for his teammates, scored great goals, but he was also like his father in that he was INJURY PRONE.
@@Outta-hz1ej Yep, Nick like his Dad has intangible value on the ice & in the dressing room but with the ridiculous amount of talented/promising i.e. gotta-give-em-a-try forwards the Leafs have on the current roster where & how often would he have played?
Since he's been with the Leafs he seem he's not playing with any energy no speed he looks I like he doesn't want to be there I don't know?? I want him to play well..
Don is wrong once again. Nylander is still a stud elite player in the NHL and Ritchie you get for a bag of chips. The only thing that held Nylander back was a coach named Babcock. Today it is our shoot first D who is not capable of making an outlet pass to our elite forwards. It's dump and chase , one trick pony.
Hes a big winger that doesnt like to use his body properly look at all his goals you posted its him on the first power play unit just scoring tap ins hes a liability 5 on 5 and leaf fans will find out soon enough
He is also slow, very slow. I think the Bruins are ok having him walk. The points look good but once you realize how he gets them you know it will be harder for him to repeat that production rate. Unless he is getting top PP minutes every game he wont be putting up the points he did.
@@williamdougie6213 no one ever said he was a good bruin we hated his brother when nick showed up in boston he was already not liked by many he got fans as he started the season really hot but then died down and was a complete liability on the ice, just giving you a heads up thats all but dont say ritchie had a good reputation in boston😂
@@williamdougie6213 Didn't hate or love Ritchie, he had a good regular season and then fell off during the playoffs both years. He isn't more than a 3rd line winger, who can put up the majority of points on the powerplay in front of the net.
Cherry was completely wrong yet again, the league was changing and his thinking was way out of date. Thankfully they choose Nylander over Ritchie, it was one of the few right decisions Nonis made in his tenure. Shanny wanted Ritchie but got out voted and was not happy about the decision but in hind sight they picked the best player.
It's all about roles big man. Ya gotta mix in the skill and the sandpaper, that's what'll getcha through. Look at Tampa - tough team. St. Louis in 2019 - tough as nails Washington - tough team and so on and so forth Nylander's great don't get me wrong but think about it from his perspective. They just drafted Marner, and were on the horizon to get a high pick in the next year's draft, they had enough offensive talent. Drafting those middle 6 sandpaper players is super important, especially in the cap era. I love Nylander, but having so much offensive talent may have put the Leafs in a bit of a cap panic. I'm just glad >my team has both.
