@@curtiscoker-uy6mv based on production and impact IN COLLEGE, Devonta Smith, Amari Cooper, and Jerry Jeudy are all before Julio. Just because Julio turned out to be the best pro doesn’t mean he was the best at Bama
Thank you Coach and Miss Terry for letting us have the greatest memories of our lives! NOTHING can ever replace our appreciation for the impact you have had on Tide faithful. You are so right when you say your retirement could never come at a “good time” for the fans but we appreciate that it is the “right time” for you and Miss Terry. Wishing you the same kind of joy in your retirement as you gave us on the sideline these last 17 years! Roll Tide Coach and more thanks than you will ever know.
Good list but I think you missed the best game of all tho....2008 LSU game that went in over time. I think that was his first monumental victory for him since it was his first time back at tiger stadium after he ditched the tigers and what a statement win! That atmosphere was crazy electrifying!
Why in the world would you be a MI ticker holder? I mean, perennial flops when it matters. I bailed on Bo and Harbaugh in 85 when everything was in front of them and they went to Champaign and blew it all (3-3 tie). I have never regretted my decision.
@@matthewmccallum3479 OSU played bad today, but that was because of MI. The bad: If they meet again, the loser of the first most of time wins the 2nd. Wait. MI scored again. The CFP may knock OSU out of the top 4.
I love the Saban era as him being a coach but Tebow will go down as the greatest college football player of all time when it comes to his influence on not just a team but the entire country. He was as kind as Jesus off the field but as savage as a Spartan on the field.
These are some of the best games played under Saban, but to me, one of the most important games that never gets included on these lists is the 2007 game vs Arkanasas. Everyone always says the 08 Clemson game set the tone for the Saban era, but I think it was the 07 Arkansas game.
LOL. That's your barometer? Arkansas finished 8-5 that year. GA? GA beat SC by 7, KY by 3, Aub by 4. All were unranked. And then got knocked out against FL by 39. After starting #1, goof Richt finished #13. Youse peeps drink bad Pabst.
I think 2012 LSU Bama Yeldon screen pass should be #2. Although that was regular season, that was a massive massive game with an unbelievable atmosphere. I was at LSU in the student section. Deafening. To put it in perspective AJ McCarron was crying after the game which I didn't see him do in any other game.
Yeah, the National Championship Game after that BAMA MADE A HUGE STATEMENT THOUGH. I think LSU got past the 50 yard line maybe once late in the 4th quarter!!! And FINALLY after 7 quarters of football with Alabama leading 15-0 with Bama's 15 points all coming from field goals, Bama FINALLY scored a touchdown!!! Making it 21-0. I ALMOST, ALMOST felt sorry for LSU.😊
@@kennethdeanmiller7324 In his 17 yrs, I think Saban held 5 teams that finished ranked to zero points. This was a farce and the only way to know was to play a 3rd game.
My 3 favorite plays are 1) Tua to Devont’a Smith walk off vs UGA ‘17 natty, 2) AJ McCarron screen to TJ Yeldon vs LSU in ‘12, and 3) McElroy screen to Ingram vs UF in ‘09 SEC championship.
I agree with your top 2. I would have liked to have seen the Iron Bowl win in 4 OTs in the top 10 though because MAN! THAT WAS A GREAT GAME! Roll Tide!
@@mas5867 I'm not sure if you're familiar with CFB but the best/most talented team doesn't always win. For example, we've seen unranked Purdue & Iowa teams beat Ohio State by 30. You think they had comparable players? Lol. As far as winning games they're supposed to win, nobody has been better than Nick Saban coached teams. 100 consecutive wins vs unranked opponents speaks for itself. We will never see anything like that again in our lifetime.
@Nate LOL. Maybe you don't a clue bringing just 1 anomoly here and there. I gots more than just Auburn. In 2021, AL was favored by 101 in 4 or 5 games. They didn't cover by 87. The AP only dinged them once (AR), but remember the AP voting does not occur in a vacuum. It depends what went on around AL when they didn't cover. Anyway in 2021, 21 pts from 11-2 to 7-5 Was that "not covering" a great predictor for 2022? Absolutely. Favored by 80, in, I believe, a 4 game stretch, they didn't cover by 69. and were 14 pts from 10-2 to 7-5 In two of the wins, AL fell in the polls. Pls argue that pollsters don't use the lines to ranks teams. Tell me what criteria they used to drop AL even though they won. Anyway, AL showed cracks last year and those got them voted over this year.
@@Nate-im3sg As far as not seeing anything like his winning record against unranked teams again. In 2020 or 21 the 15th or 16th final ranked team had the 120th weakest schedule in the country. Think about that. The pickings were so slim that all the AP had to choose from was a team that played absolute nobody. Saban has a cake walk bec football on the whole has been down a while. Need more?
@mas5867 You seem not to understand the rivalry between Auburn and Alabama. In the Iron Bowl, records do not matter. That game is a one game season, by far the greatest rivalry in college football. It can also be tremendously difficult to win at Auburn. History has proven that. Alabama went on to smash Georgia the following week in the SEC Championship.
Javi ripping down that INT in the 4th of the 09 SECCG is the moment. That's when we knew we were going to Cali to play for the natty. 07 Arkansas, JPW to Cadell with 11 seconds left... we kinda started thinking we had something special. Javi bringing down that INT, we knew we had something special. After that, its hard to pick... but Jalen in the endzone to go up on Georgia after getting benched for Tua... take a picture of him doing the superman pose in the endzone with the boys hugging him and hang it in the Louvre. I'm glad you included that Metchie forced fumble, I totally forgot about him absolutely trucking that dude.
I remember dumbass Gary Nielson griping about Cody removing his helmet after the block. And thinking the "penalty" would give yhe Vols another FG attempt
Roll tide and great list. I'd probably have the LSU game #1 because it was revenge game and LSU looked unbeatable that season. Notre Dame national championship at #2 and Ohio State game at #3 and the 2021 SEC championship game at 4, (it would be number 1 if we had beaten Georgia again in the national championship. The first championship against Georgia, it was a great comeback but Georgia wasn't that great of a team. They were destroyed by auburn 40-17
What the F***? 1) Rematches in college football are never fair. Most of the time the loser of the 1st, wins the 2nd, which makes sense. "We beat them before, we will beat them again comes back to bite the winner of the 1st." 2) ND is 0-14 in bowls against Top 15 teams since 95. Why? a) They aren't in conference, b) because of that, they don't have to validate anything before they flop in bowl games. They were a walkover for Bama. 3) OSU? You're kidding, right. * Bama knew 42 days before OSU their season was on. * Bama was 3-0 before OSU took their 1st snap. * OSU's reg season was over at 5-0. Bama was just getting started and played 5 more games. What the hell, extra games and practices didn't give Bama a distinct advantage, right? * OSU didn't face their toughest reg season opponent MI. It was called off. * OSU played 3 games in their last 6 weeks of the season. Typical stupi.d Bama fan.
Man that National championship game vs LSU will ALWAYS be my personal favorite. I am from & live in Alabama. I work offshore in Louisiana with a BUNCH of guys from Louisiana. They were giving me such BS when LSU beat Bama in Tuscaloosa earlier that year. I was the ONLY Bama fan on the whole boat while watching that championship game. I personally saw 6 LSU guys turn their backs on their "team" that night. At HALFTIME they were all saying "LSU sucks", "I don't care about LSU" & my favorite "I never was much of an LSU fan anyway!" Lol. LSU fans are the absolute WORST fan base in the world of CFB. They will turn their backs on LSU when they are struggling, but will be quick to jump on that band wagon when they start winning.
Should consider retiring numbers. I know we’ve had way too many great years and players, not just Saban, but Stallings and the Bear and the great ones before that. But at least show some love to our 4 Heisman winners as well as the legacy players of old.
I can't believe Clinton ha ha dix wasn't all over this. That boy doesn't need an introduction, I met him had him sign several things he asked why I said u are probably best playa here at bama.
LOL. You mean this standard. Shula faced 4 TN and 4 Aub teams. 7 of the 8 were ranked. 88% Saban has faced 12 of 32 (16+16) ranked TN and Aub teams. 38% How bout this stat. Saban is 0-8 (0-5 at Bama) against Aub teams that finished with at least 9 wins. 3 of the 4 Aub teams Shula faced finished with 13, 9, 11 wins. That's 75% Apply 75% to 16 (Aub teams Saban has faced) and Saban has maybe 7 more LAST GAME losses that surely would blow up several NC bids. Saban, the most overrated, entitled coach in history.
@BAMAJD what argument? I stated facts. The most overrated, entitled coach in history cannot beat a good Aub team and he can't do it while coaching at diff programs. if he faces the same caliber team that Shula did 75% of his 4 years, Saban could very easily have 4 to 7 more losses. Last game losses too.
@BAMAJD only coach in history (besides the bears last season) to lose to a TN team while Bama was ranked in the top 5. Bear (82) started #2 and finished unranked. Was a bad team. So Saban is really alone in that stat. LOL.
@@mas5867 how are hypothetical statements facts? 7 championships is not overrated. Auburn cares about winning against Alabama Alabama cares about winning championships
It’s crazy seeing the final score to the Texas national championship game and realizing it was a 3 point game with 3 minutes left. If you don’t believe Colt McCoy would’ve made a difference you’re delusional.
Big time, Bama dominated after the injury, yet Texas had somehow hung around to make it a four quarter game. Just goes to show that not every final score indicates lopsidedness from start to finish.
Prior to the game, Colt 3400 yds for the year, his backup 150. His backup turned it over 5 times in the game. 2 times after the score was 24 to 21. At the least, TX takes it to multiple OTS if he plays.
Is this ranked in any particular order? Like are you just listing 30 in no particular order because that mount cody block being 30 behind some of the more forgettable wins like Alabama beating Cincinnati? Who cares? Cincinnati didn’t belong
