Anyone who actually follows Nick Wrights’s commentary and antics across various platforms eventually realizes he is quite simply one of the best in the business.
@@matthewrivera5484 the thing is….so much of the basketball media are Jordan Stan’s, or anti-homers for Lebron that his pro-Lebron stance is very much needed in the sports talk ecosystem
He said "Danny". Daddy is so offensive & sexualized that no man would say that to another man on TV LET ALONE ABOUT HIS AFRICAN AMERICAN WIFE, which makes "Daddy" have undertones of class & re to America's history when Black kids were stolen and sold to other plantations This is American History that everyone should know & remember. Dan seems like an honorable person & too much of a gentleman to say DADDY to ANY WOMAN he wasn't married to..The thing about the watches was just a joke that only he found funny. Nothing wrong w/that.
It took me a very long time but I’ve warmed to Nick. I don’t like FTF type shows but his show he does with his son is legit…his interactions with Bomani and Dan are solid too.
It took me a while to get on board with Nick Wright as well. But he's quite GOOD and he remember stats and plays that get under mentioned but in fact are highly relevant .
@@aristotle736 his top 50 list for basketball has been one of my favorite things in a long time. I like it better than what Jackie is doing on the Ringer for the “icons” thing.
DP and Nick have great chemistry. The Skip mention is hilarious and the fake jewelry story is crazy and lowkey Nicks wife is gonna give him shit after the interview.
Thinking the biggest play of any Super Bowl in history happened in the first half is just Nick trying to make a controversial statement. The Harrison play was, as William points out, phenomenal. It didn't change the outcome of the game with 23 seconds left.
I caught up with this late, but glad I did. This has to be one of the greatest spots ever. I saw Nick and his wife in his podcast once and she is indeed beautiful but also a take-no-prisoners type of person. Whether or not this segment was real or a put up, it was very entertaining. If it was real, look for Nick's wife to make an appearance on his podcast to give her side.
Great back and forth between these 2! Nicks Wrong about Butlers int not being the greatest defensive play in Super Bowl history.. but everything after that was hilarious!
Dan said DANNY not DADDY, which is perverted, sexualized, & would have earned a sock in the mouth by any man married to a woman he loves. DADDY is only an appropriate if they were in a sex club.
I wish I had a job where no matter how many times I am wrong a day, they still paid me to come in tomorrow. There's only two of them I know of, weatherman and ESPN sports analyst.
It’s not just that the butler INt saved/won the game, it’s about how unlikely/great/impactful of a play it was. It took the patriots from like 95% chance of losing to 99.9% chance of winning. It’s a mix of game situation, impact on the game and looking at the play as a stand alone thing that makes butlers play the best. It shouldn’t take 2 smart sportscasters 5 mins of arguing nonsensically to be able to realize the argument for butlers play being better than Harrison’s isn’t only that it came later in the game.
Not necessarily true. If that pass is completed Brady has 20 sec left, and 2 time outs, to go about 40 yards to get in fg range. That seems a bit more than 5% probable.
Nick… the Butler play took the odds from Seahawks 90-95% chance winning to less than 1% chance winning… the Steelers play maybe changed the percentage of winning from 50% ish almost to maybe a 70% chance winning… there was a big difference
@@burprobrox9134 yes but time does play an enormous role in the game from the standpoint of Seahawks are a lock to win… walk in touchdown and if dropped then 2 more shots with a strong likely hood to win… then in 1 play Seahawks 0% chance to win, Pats won… the other play didn’t switch the favorites by about 100%. Literally the most it could ever switch.
Nick... If the Patriots 'just' knock the ball down... This give Pete Carrol a second chance... to screw up another play call but maybe Pete Carrol does the right thing. Malcom Butler's play was HUGE and historic.
I agree with Dan on most topics, but DP is completely wrong on this one. James Harrison 99 yard pick 6 will forever be the greatest play in SB history, it completely impacted the outcome of a game where there was not much scoring.
Nick wrong arguing against that Malcolm butler play being the biggest defensive play in SB history is arguably his MOST WRONG-iest of takes ever. There are a lot of things up for debate in sports and that’s why it’s so fun to talk about because it’s all subjective and everyone has differing criteria and all that etc. That play is as open-and-shut as it gets, so much so that one could probably claim it objectively. Just absurd
@@Vic-Vega lol omg. do people not get it? debating the relative merits and difficulties of the individual plays is beyond asinine. IT WON THE SUPER BOWL. Gavel pounds, case closed
@@AreolaGrande94 But it didn't "win" the Super Bowl -- not immediately/automatically, anyway. How do you know Harrison's play wasn't more impactful. Easy answer: you don't know that. You're basically just saying a play that happens in the 4th quarter is more impactful because of its proximity to the end (i.e. game clock striking 0:00). I wonder how empirical statisticians would answer this debate. Something tells me they wouldn't be on your side, though.
@@Vic-Vega They wouldn't, because it'd be one of the dumber things for them to waste time doing. Even to pseudo-intellectualize in the way and with the verbiage you have is beyond troll-y. And out of place after you claimed "any warm body" could have made that play... That singular moment shifted the winning percentage of >94% for one team to >99% for the other. IT decided the game. Dammit... I was always advised not to feed 'em
