It’s rare anyone calls out Broussard for his nonsense or stupidity. Two weeks ago he basically announced he doesn’t do his homework because he didn’t even know where the game was being played and where the game was being played impacted his decision. Later in the week Greg Jennings told him he didn’t do his homework when talking about mvp discussion. Which essentially has been the same argument he’s been making for well over a month. I’m not sure if they’re scared to say something because he’s older . But it seems like everyone on the show is held to some kind of standard but him.

If you don’t understand: Nick is saying that the Wildes isn’t counting the week where starters sit out in the regular season (like week 18 with Purdy and Jackson). The difference here is the TEAMS don’t get those weeks off but the PLAYERS who sit out do. The rest of the team still has to play and likely still with a majority of their starters. So if you have a week 18 but you’ve already secured the #1 seed ,or losing doesn’t get you a higher or lower in seeding; you can choose which players to rest but you still have to practice all week and most of the team still has to play. This is not a true “rest” week.

If they played 12/31. Rest all their starters week 18, everybody wildcard weekend (#1 seed bye), and then play divisional round on either 1/20, or 1/21 then it will have been 3 weeks since starters had their last game action, which would've been week 17 miami, 12/31-1/20 or 1/21. Wildes is right, it would be 3 weeks since game action for starters, if they rest this week.

They both are correct depending upon how you frame it. There is Nick’s explanation, which is correct. Then there is this explanation: I’ll use the phrase ‘recovery time’. From Sunday to Sunday, a team/player has 1 week to ‘recover’. A bye offers 2 weeks to recover. Sitting week 18 with a bye provides 3 weeks to recover with no game to interrupt this rest period before playing the next game, which would be the first playoff game.
