Boot looks really cool. By the way I like rough out leather. The only problem for me is that at my place is raining any time and the leather absorbs water easily.
Nice boots! Love that thick 1964 leather, I think my next boot will be in this leather, I should have pulled the trigger last week on that 20% sale on in- stocks. They had a 1964 brown smooth in stock. You would probably like a moc toe since you like the roomier lasts. I bought a Whites Perry just because they were on sale, and have since then bought 2 more pairs of Perry selects, my favorite and most comfortable boots. I also like the 8” over the 6” boot. I also started ordering my boots in an E width for a more comfortable, roomier boot. The Christie sole is a game changer if you are on your feet all day.
Yep I grabbed some BuilderPros on the sale. I also went up a width on those (from 11E to 11EE) to see if that allows me to wear thicker boot socks. For cold weather. We’ll see if it’s too big or good. I’ll return if it’s a bust. These are amazing. I’m digging the RO.
@@EDHBlvd Same here, it’s allowed me to wear thicker socks also, which really helps me be able to withstand breaking in these thicker work leathers also. I simply don’t enjoy wearing a tight boot. I like all kinds of leathers but have started gravitating towards waxed flesh, rough outs and work leathers more because of the abuse they can withstand during my work day. I spend my day in warehouses, maintenance shops and construction sites.
I would think paying a premium for a premium boot would get you exactly what you paid for including the proper kilte. They didn’t shave anything off my Latigo , 1964, or double stuffed. Hold them to high standards and we will all benefit.
@@berna97706 it would be odd that they sometimes ship unsplit kilties. I was looking at my boots and the W&C pairs possibly look unsplit. But a full thickness 1964 kiltie would be problematic. Too thick. I wonder if the rough out half of a split kiltie is too soft without the grain side giving it a backbone.
