Well, it is Dimitri who hasn't the contact for years so I doubt that he really has any true information about that. They don't publish their possible contacts in the world news. But, who can say. I also thought how happy and proud was Gedda looking here.

Hi Mike! This is from Swedish TV show Hylands hörna. Gedda sang Vaterland from the Merry widow, Tania sang Vilja lied and he at the end sang Tonerna. There was also some talk. I am very glad that you like it, dear Mike.
Two years after this, in 1985, I saw both in THE LAND OF SMILES live on stage in Cologne. Nicolai was already 59, but his voice was as youthful and supple as usual. I still remember the beauty of his mezza voce in "Von Apfelblüten einen Kranz" as if it had been yesterday. Tania was amazong too. Some months ago, Gedda's son told me that Nicolai Gedda had no longer contact with his daughter... Mike

Yes, he lives in the USA. Dimitri was very kind to me, given me some very personal informations. He told me about his parents, the difficult time of their divorce and some other confidential things. Meanwhile Gedda's second wife Anastasia (mother of Dimitri) passed away. For many years he had not seen his father, since those days Gedda met his now wife Aino. Dimitri has some vague memories of Tolochenaz. As far as he knows, father and daughter also have drifted apart. Don't know the reasons. In Switzerland, Gedda and his wife have a withdrawn life to the exclusion of public.
Tania Gedda Is a good singer, but when she, like Rolf Björling, is compared with her father she is considered mediocre. That in itself is right, but unfortunate.
I have no idea what is she now doing, but I suppose that she is retired. I know that for a time she was a member of Paris opera and she was teaching. I don't even know where she is living.
