I'm not sure why, but I'm always surprised at how winsome , fun, and silly Nic Cage is in his talk show appearances. His stature is such that he could easily be the kind of guest Dave hated - one of those 'big stars without stories or a personality' types - but he never is. He always brings his A-game and entertains the audience.
Love how captivating, and compelling Nicolas Cage has always been. Adore his leather outfit here. And his goofy silly crazy surprising sense of humour. Forever one of the kings, masters and lords in Hollywood history. Adore his voice, it’s so unique and original. The rattlesnake story is beyond hilarious. 😂 😆 🖤 🥵 🤤 🐍
A similar situation happened to a few fellow bikers, when they were on the side of the road, in So Dakota. It was a few days later when a rancher's wife made us some Soup. The BEST Chicken (I thought) Soup I had ever eaten! It wasn't til I went for a 3rd bowl that she told me that it was Rattlesnake soup, from that same rattlesnake. Nick is right, it tastes like Chicken!!
I had alligator at a Cajun restaurant once. I told people that it tastes as if “chicken was steak”, because it had a chicken flavour but a steak texture.
That would be kinda weird, to start with... I'd try alligator, though, too!😉 Ostrich has a variety of meat textures and tastes. Only tried a drum but, it was good. I tried so many foods in So Dakota but, I had to say NO to the Rocky Mountain Oysters! 🤢
Plenty of people have eaten snakes. Dave should have asked about the time Nicolas Cage grabbed and *ate a live cockroach* for the movie _Vampire’s Kiss!_ Not plastic…not CGI. As a joke, the director had him repeat the scene by eating yet _another_ cockroach!
Some of his stories (they are all made up on the spot) are good, but some are just not. He puts the car in park, spins, hears the truckie say on the cb put it in reverse, and drives backwards looking for an exit? How about just talking about something real every now and then? (P.S. I love the time he was talking about the snake behind glass as he's sitting in his red leather chair, in red leather pants, with a red velvet shirt drinking red wine .. that one was awesome. :-)
