Great information for my 4th grade daughter who will soon be doing a living "wax museum" presentation on Mrs. Jefferson. She had her heart set on being Thomas Jefferson since he is her 33rd cousin but someone else snatched him up first. 😂

A bit late in watching. Nonetheless, it was fascinating. Thank you for providing us with such videos.

Ms. Brown. That was excellent. Do we know why Mrs. Jefferson died so young? I heard it could have been complications of diabetes but never knew for certain. Thanks again.

What an interesting presentation on a woman who seems elusive mainly because she died young, but also there seems to be no portraits of her that have survived. She must have had above average intelligence and an amazing countenance for Thomas Jefferson to be attracted to her. Later in life he was drawn to another beautiful and artisic woman in France named Maria Cosway. He seems to have been attracted to gifted women in his life. He never remarried because of his promise to Martha on her deathbed to not give their daughters a stepmother; Martha supposedly was treated harshly by her stepmothers. He was an honorable husband to keep that promise. I have read extensively about Thomas Jefferson and find him to be an amazing human being. I only wish that the authors who have rewrote history and maligned him will have to repeal their horrific lies. The public deserves the real truth; not the lies to appease some.

So, you think TJ remained abstinent for the next 40 years of his life? Yeah, history proves that didn’t happen.

@deborahshatzer7408 and Maria Cosway was a married woman! Not much happening there, is it?

@@kisha1682 I pointed out he was very attracted to Maria Cosway; no inference of a sexual relationship was mentioned. I know she was married; I've read over 30 books about Mr. Jefferson. Are you trying to pick a fight?

@@kisha1682 I know many men who have remained "faithful" after losing a wife that they were very much in love with. He was an extremely devoted family man. His attraction to Maria Cosway was 'safe' because she WAS married. Do your homework before you write inferences.
