You must be new to the Deep fake technology! Everything is easy to do with an app! Spoiler alert: Trust me, aside from finding the clips to use and pictures of Nicole, putting this video together didn't take Deep Homage much hard work, but it looks like it did.

I sensed it over the past 20 or 30 years when I used to work in offices, younger workers would come in and know all these newer computer programs. On my resume I had listed "Lotus 1-2-3" as one of my computer skills and a recruiter told me to take it off because nobody uses that program anymore! LOL

You'll find that most of Hollywood have been executed in 2020. There is a list from Gitmo online. I have it. Nicole was, so was her hubbie (he was into little boys). Thank you for noticing as it seems most people who commented were clearly clueless as to how this was made. In the actual movie Nicole did a great job but nobody can capture Lucy she was just too amazing in every way I don’t know another like her and far more beautiful than Nicole Kidman.

@@1mommymodel - Lucille Ball was a beautiful woman, and by her own admission, did not have a great sense of humor. She was never afraid to pull a funny face, or act foolish or ridiculous. Her antics on “I Love Lucy” show what a talented actress she really was. I copied her facial expressions as a child, and even today, at 73, I find myself doing one or two of them. She was a fine dramatic actress too, my favorite one of her films is “Lured”, with George Sanders. I agree with you, there will never be another Lucille Ball, she was unique. Nicole Kidman had the height, build, but Lucy’s face was more expressive, especially her big blue eyes. If you watch Lucy, she even acts with her hands….fingers. I find it funny, that a woman with no sense of humor made millions of people laugh. RIP Lucy.

Nicole did do the modern motion picture version of Bewitched (There is an earlier motion picture version 1942's "I Married a Witch" starring Fredrick March and Veronica Lake based on the original novel "The Passionate Witch" all of these versions were like the original TV series huge successes) Nicole's production company along with the major studio that put up the money hold the rights.. to her version. It was Nicole's take that the Samantha character not be copied. She plays an actress of an entirely different name that happens to be a witch that tries out for the Samantha role in the remake of the TV series. Thus you can take it from me she would find the deepfake method an affront to Ms Montgomery. You should also realize that the movie was a disappointment at the box office: a certifiable flop. I could be wrong, but after watching the original Vitameatavegies, I don’t believe they combined the images together. Lucille shakes the spoon and Nicole doesn’t. I am not sure about the Superman, but, it appears Nicole’s thighs are a little more muscular.

I agree. Many reviewers commented that the facial prosthetics used in the movie weren't a good idea. A big part of Lucille Ball's charm as an entertainer was the incredible variety of facial expressions she brought to every scene.

They didn't give her Lucy's over sized lips...and yes Nichole's botoxed face lacks the expression Lucy had

That is Lucy's body, voice & acting. That's technology putting Nicole's face over Lucy's. So that's not Nicole acting, that's why the movement fits exactly the original. Its just a trick that technology is capable of.

A remake would only ruin it. CBS colorizes a few episodes every year and re-releases them let's stick to that. Eventually they'll all be in color and that will be far better than a remake.

sorry but I disagree. I think she's a good actor but this is completely not a good fit for Nicole Kidman as a character to play. She appears very boring and stiff compared to Lucille Ball. Look at how Lucille ball uses her face and body, then I don't think you can say Nicole nailed it...but great work technology-wise!!

Debra Messing was asked to do the remake but then they chose Nicole.

@@DeepHomage I feel like there have been three actresses in various moments of their career, that have in some way approached the spirit of Lucy Ricardo. 1) Gilda Radner of SNL, whose light passed far too quickly from this world. She actually got to portray Lucy in an episode of the show. 2) Anna Maria Horsford, playing Sherman Hemsley’s daughter in Amen, his NBC follow up to CBS’s The Jefferson’s. An underrated comedienne, she shines in every episode, but in the episode Dough Girl, she gets to bake bread, and the results are different, but every bit as hilarious as Lucy’s mega loaf in Pioneer Women. Lastly, 3) Debra Messing in the second season of Will & Grace, gets an episode called Das Boob, where the water bra she is wearing springs a leak in an art gallery! It’s pure Lucy Ricardo, had Lucy been allowed to ‘go there’ in the 50s! (I hope my little list helps intro someone here to someone they didn’t know of, and a lot of laughs to come!)

I think Debra Messing played Lucy on an episode of Will & Grace. I recall seeing an episode with the main 4 characters portraying and rotating roles of the four main characters on I Love Lucy

I think the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gives an Oscar for best makeup artist in a movie. Maybe they should have one for best synthetic media artist too.

@@DeepHomage I'm confused. Wasn't Nicole made to look like Lucy by the application of makeup and other well known make up techniques which may or may not have included prosthetics? Or are you suggesting the look was achieved via a full synthetic mask and or CGI effects which frankly I do not believe was the case. The Best makeup artisan Oscar would seem to be the proper and appropriate award to be considered for whomever assisted Nicole in the transformation.

I put some of my favorites in the video. In no particular order, it's so hard to rank them: 1) “Lucy Does a TV Commercial” (Season 1, Episode 30) aka "Vitameatavegamin," really a showcase of Lucille Ball's talent. 2) The "I Love Lucy" Christmas Show, Season 6, Episode 27, the grand finale, and on my mind around the holidays, and probably 3) “Lucy’s Italian Movie” (Season 5, Episode 23), for the grape-stomping scene. I'd love to hear what other "I Love Lucy" consider their favorite episodes.

I loved all of them but 2 of my favorite episodes off the bat is the one when she gave birth to Little Ricky and when they finally arrived in Hollywood

Lou, thanks. I've dropped hints to Hollywood but haven't gotten an offer yet. I think that this technology might have worked better than the facial prosthetics used in the movie. Disney's digital recreation of young Luke Skywalker in episode 6 of The Mandolorian is a good example of what the current tech is capable of.
