Oh my Nicole Jung has a youtube channeled called "Cole Time 니콜"! I started looking at his instagram after this podcast and her dance cover on Itzy's Wannabe was awesome~~
Interesting to see how much English she’s lost after 15 years. She feels more Korean than Korean American to me. The contrast with Eric is pretty stark. Ofc Eric was older when he moved to Korea.
She’s been in Korea for like half her life now. Koreans don’t use much English as their culture likes to stick to Korean. It happens to a lot of gyopos
I lived in the states for 8 years without speaking mcuh Thai. When I came back 3 years ago, i also noticed my Thai has gotten worse (more like my ability to process Thai in my head). However, 3 years have passed and I now speak Thai better than English (and lost much of the English I used to speak during the 8 years in the US 😅 it’s interesting in Nicole’s case how she lost her native tongue though.
@@reishidesu isn’t gyopo the general term for Korean diaspora? i’ve seen lots of Korean-Americans still be called gyopo despite being born abroad, because they’re ethnically fully Korean. your definition seems more fitting for the term “gyomin”
It's funny how she started out not knowing much korean and now she has problems finding some words in english. Now she's more comfortable speaking korean now
I remember actually witnessing the comeback stage of KARA on Music Core with Wanna. They promoted Mister as well on the same day but that blew up much more than Wanna so they went with that haha. Their dance moves with Mister was a big mind-shaking moment for me and I knew this was going to go viral. But seriously, they were beautiful and so talented; I'm really lucky to see them perform before KARA's final days. Kpop in 2nd generation is still and will remain superior than any other generation in Kpop.
Goodness. Would've never imagined her personality was like this. Just like Tiffany flourished when she finally spoke freely, it's so nice and fun to see her being genuinely herself and showing her charm. She sounds exactly like me and my friends, speaking KorEnglish lol. Really wish her the best
suddenly i remember in golden bell, when nicole spoke korean but no one understand it except tiffany, so she translated it to the others. now i when i look at eric's face, i was like is he really understand nicole hahahah
When you learn a new language or know multiple languages, you realize how there are so many different ways to express things. Sometimes, you explain things the way you would in your first language, but you use the words in your second language. It's a real fun struggle being multilingual.
This made me realize how nice it is to talk to people who speak all your languages. It allows for switching back and forth many many times, and people will still go "Yeah, I know right."
Wow, Nicole's personality is nothing like how I imagined her to be! I feel like she would get along so well with EXID's Hani - they both seem so easygoing and just - happy/laughy.
@@CryKaze Omg, now that you mention it - they do have really similar features! Hani in her bang-less phase did look a lot like Nicole! Plus even the way they talk, laugh, and roast themselves is eerily similar.
Nicole is probably reading these comments. I just wanna say that I admittedly viewed Nicole as selfish for leaving KARA, and I've said bad things about her due to that. I think a lot of fans and even non-fans put so much value in the groups and the big image it comes with that we forget what the individuals are going through behind the scenes. I turned 29 last week, and I left my toxic job this week with no job lined up. I find myself relating to her in just wanting peace and wanting to do the things she wants, and these feelings are totally valid. KARA had so many achievements, but so did Nicole on her own. I hope she does do a podcast with her friends. I really enjoyed this episode. She's radiating so much positivity and freedom. Otherwise, I wish her the best.
I didn't understand it either why she left KARA, when they were doing so well, but later i realized how kpop industry has so many dark sides. It's more than i would imagine.
@@Tronda550 because she was placed on the backbench after the first contract dispute, she wanted more activities but DSP wouldnt promote her at all. She did say before she wanted to stay in KARA while working for another agency instead, which is rather rare and unheard of back in the day. Her wanting to stay in KARA can be backed up by the fact that JY and her came back without any conditions. Now in 2023 looking back, her leaving KARA wasnt a bad thing. She found her own color, able to express her own style without limitations.
Omg I totally forget about her, and she was one of my bias in Kara. It's funny how she is now struggling with English, when she just debut she was having a hard time communicating in Korean
I love Nicole. She has a great personality and characteristics. So likable. I can tell she is really nervous here. There is certain questions or when she is answering you can here her voice shaking.
When Nicole talked about how toxic social media can be, I was like yeaaahh I agree 100%! Idols are human too, it's nice to know that they feel the same way about social media like the rest of us.
@@bluemusician958 She Was Popular About Her Skill Because Of Hit The Stage. When She Was In KARA,DSP Media Didn't Allowed To Show. Her Itzy Wannabe Cover Video On Her YT Channel Called Cole Time Was Very Famous.
Lupin was literally the first Kpop song I heard by chance on an old streaming platform and well from then on I kept listening to a lot of different Kpop artists❤️
It’s so surreal to see and hear Nicole after SO long. I found out about KARA back in 2010 during the Lupin era. Nicole became one of my early girl crushes, especially with the short black haircut at the time. 💕
The last time I saw Nicole was when she participated in Hit the Stage, it's been so long so I'm very happy to see her again now. Hope she'll be a regular here
Dang i remember nicole in kara days always seemed bright but her brightness now is different, like more mature but so easy to talk to still 💖 girl is glowing, we love to see it
I remember her bob cut hair during their guesting in Family Outing and how cute this unni was speaking Korean. I was a middle schooler then but I’m 25 now. Crazy how we’re all getting older with our idols. 😭 I’m an unni now to the younger generation. Anyways, thanks for a great episode! Please have CL as a guest! Feels like she would spill some tea. ☕️☕️
this makes me so melancholic Kara got me into kpop and Hara was my fave an I loved Nicole and her crazy dynamic with the members i just miss these days when they were together
KARA was my favorite Korean girl group. I started listening K-Pop music because of them .. I still remember when they conquered Japan's Oricon Chart .. Really miss the old days ..
Maaaan I’m so bummed with myself for getting into Kara as late as I did. Around Mamma Mia and Cupid is when I get into them but I love OT5 with Nicole and Jiyoung. Always loved Nicole and her bright personality. Glad she took time for herself after she left and is doing well
I feel like the kpdb podcast is like a therapy session to the celebrities.. they get to talk about their struggles and be thankful for what they have.. I feel like it's a needed conversation for everyone.. even I would appreciate such a time...
Yes, Nicole on Golden Bell was the most memorable thing for me. I couldn't believe that they had this American girl doing all these explanations in Korean, but she was really amazing.
First ever bias in kpop was Nicole! I love her energy and her self awareness. Thank you for talking about mental health and for being so honest about your experiences. ❤️
I remember when I was into kpop, Nicole is my favourite kpop artist ever (and she is still my fav now).. watching this brings so much memories about the old days and I love listening to her. Thank you Eric and daebak show for having her on your podcast.
There were lots of 2nd gen idols who debuted so early in their lives and though it seems like they're so lucky to be famous at such a young age, they missed so much of their teenage and developing years too. I like listening to them now that they're adults.
My bias in Kara 💗💗 I was so in love with her when I was in high school, my heart broke when she left the group. But listening to her now, and me being older, I understand why she did it. Love you Nicole!!
It's about time! I was wondering when Eric would get Nicole on the show. That was fascinating to hear what she's been up to. I remember when she left KARA and worked so hard in the US on her craft. She's always been a fun, quirky personality.
I really enjoyed watching this episode. Didn’t expect to see her on this. She is such a wonderful person. She has been through so much and I wish her all the best. Now I want to listen to KARA songs.
I hope Nicole and the rest of Kara know there are people like me who still listen to Pretty Girl in like, weekly basis. It’s on my daily playlist so whenever i listen to that playlist there’s like 95% I will listen to girl~~ pretty girl pretty girl 그냥 되진 않는거죠 난~~~ 🥳
I know this is a very chill and relaxed show, but was really hoping they dove more in-depth about her transition out of Kara and what really happened, and how the girls dealt with it. As well what happened during her time with B2M and how it ended. And as a continuous fan, was hoping for updates if there will ever be a possible Korean comeback. Really miss seeing her perform on stage. She paused her updates on her RU-vid channel too. Hope she updates soon.
@@andredrw289 it was the name of the company that Nicole joined after she left DSP. It's the company the Eric was referring to when he mentioned they were under the same company together.
@@andredrw289 Yes. Founded by a former artist manager at DSP. He recruited HyoRi first, then Eric, and HyoRi developed and guided with the creation of Spica, and then Nicole joined. They had previous history of working together, that was why Nicole signed on with the company. Unfortunately, I don't believe it's active anymore, I think CJE&M bought them out. I think B2M transferred all their artists over but Nicole wasn't one of them. So I believe she's now a freelance artist, no agency or company attached to her name. She manages herself along with the small loyal team she has.
Yeah i wish she could talk more in depth about that but i assume she wasn't comfortable or she could get in trouble 🤷♀️ im just happy she was feeling comfortable enough with Eric
more than being happy to see Nicole on a show after a long time, i'm happy to see her in ERIC's show. i can't with how comfortable they look together. I think I'm happier than both of them for their reunit.
nicole really is so lovely and refreshing. i discovered her when i was still in middle school with kara and was in love with her genuine and sweet personnality. i hope the newcomers got to know a lot more about her and will tag along on the journey with us kamilias !
OMG, I didn't think I missed Nicole so much but I felt so happy to see her on your show?? I hadn't seen her in a looooooong while and it was so nice to hear from her and remember how bright she is. I'm glad things are well for her and that she's healthier! She deserves that!
this is my third time coming back to this episode and i really loved the parts where nicole talks about her personal growth and struggle with insecurities, that really resonated with me especially rn because i’m going through one of the roughest times of my life
Seeing Nicole always give the the smile. Bubbly and cheerful. Cant help to Search for Nicole Star Golden Bell Challenge youtube clips. Such witty answers. Best laughters. Those were the days
Hell no, that would never happen. The Jung sisters ain't about that. Not to get mixed with one of the best Jung, Nicole of course. Their not related but, you get the gist.
Oh wow Nicole, it’s been so long! Glad to see she's doing well! I just love her personality, she spreads positive vibes and is bright and genuine! Loved to her about her experiences with being the industry, her personal growth and travel bits, even her home interior discussion was fun and relatable. A podcast with Nicole, Key and Soyou would be amazing or just Nicole would be nice too. I feel like she’d have a lot more interesting things to share and we only got a glimpse through this interview :D Btw, she says her english vocab stopped at like grade 9 but honestly she's so well spoken. She just needs to speak more english again and she'll be speaking better than some other english speaking idols that actually lived in the U.S a lot longer than her and have more english speaking friends in no time.
i haven't seen nicole in soooo long omg!!!! i freaked out when i saw this on dive's twitter and came as fast as i could lol my second generation kpop stan heart T____T
Thank you for interviewing Nicole! I was/am a huge fan of KARA since they debut. I love Nicole and am happy to see she looks great and seems to be doing well. If you read this Nicole, Happy New Year! Stay healthy and happy!
Thank you for this podcast with nicole, I’ve literally missed her everyday and that’s not even an exaggeration, i know that sounds creepy, but, seeing her like this, i’m so relieved that she’s doing well with her life. I’m really happy for you, cole, whatever path you wanna choose, there’ll always be this one girl here cheering on you :)
Wow! Seeing Nicole in this interview brings a warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia. Thanks for bringing her in, Eric and Dive Studios! Thanks for sharing the stories Nicole, always inspiring then and now.
It's been a while since I last seen Nicole. Glad she's doing well! I didn't realize how much I missed seeing her until now. TYSM Eric for having her on the show
Back here coz KARA just had a comeback and I'm just so glad to see Nicole together with her KARA sisters. They've stayed in touch through the years and remained close. ❤️
it's so nice to see nicole in this kind of environment!! being able to relax and reflect on life 😌even though it was her first podcast, truly a natural!! thanks eric for being such an amazing host as always!!
Nicole has been bright and funny since a loong time ago/debut.😄 She was variety shows’ darling, especially in Star Golden Bell. Her being American with cute mistakes in Korean was always the personality that SGB pushed forward yo the audience and the participants of the show (for those who don’t know the participants are idols/celebrities).😊 As a K-Pop fan since 2005, I’m so glad that so many senior groups gathering together and come back, including Kara. Kara has been one of my favorites alongside SNSD, Secret, Hello Venus, and T-Ara!
Nicole was my crush among other kpop girlgroups.. And seeing her now makes me want to go back when i madly in love with her.. I used to download her video and smile ear to ear watching her.. I dont know its a coincidence or not or maybe its just me, but my wife looks like her..
I knew that she is a fun kinda girl, maybe more likely to be a girl next door rather than a famous entertainer. She came across very genuine and honest and I hope she grows up better as herself. Good luck, girl!
Aw. So nice to see and hear Nicole. She's grown so much and is already almost 30. I'm so glad she's mentally stronger now. I loved her during variety shows back in the days. ❤️😊
