You guys need to do some research. Tenors are supposed to have darker and heavier voices than the females, they are men. She is soprano, she sang the part exactly as it was supposed be sung for the role of Christine. She was phenomenal. Also none of the men were opera singers, just musical Theatre singers, not the same.

She's actually fighting a very heavy cold during this performance. It's in the rehearsal footage somewhere.

the four male vocalists were the original phantoms of the play on their respected leg of shows. The oldest guy was Simon Bowman, the original guy who played Chris on Miss Saigon with the original kim, Lea Salonga in 1989.

The 4 guys are veteran singers who have played this role for years so they’ll obviously sound amazing. Nicole, while also classically trained, obviously isn’t as trained given that she switched to pop music. She sounded congested in the first few choruses but did better as she went on. Why are you asking her to belt when the song is supposed to be sung classically lol the guys are belting, but Nicole has to sing it in head voice since it’s classical singing

One of my favorite performance from my favorite musical. My fave phantoms are Ramin Karimloo (far left) and John Owen Jones (far right). Simon Bowman (right of Nicole) was the original Chris opposite Lea Salonga (original Kim) in the musical Miss Saigon. You should check out their performance of "Sun and Moon" in the Wogan show in 1989 when they were much younger. Also my favorite Christine is Sierra Boggess. Check her out performing "Phantom of the Opera" with Ramin Karimloo and "Think of Me". Yes, Nicole's father is Filipino. Her surname at birth is Valiente. She's using her stepfather's surname Scherzinger when he adopted her.

The 4 men are currently few of our well known tenor/opera singers.... They are Ramin Karimloo, John Owens -Jones, Simon Bowman and Earl Carpenter. Karimloo is the youngest there, half Canadian half Iranian. And Owens - Jones is the one you liked or said that was good.

The 4 men have all performed as Phantoms in the West End at some point. And they are just some of the big names in the musical theatre community. The first one who sang was John Owen-Jones, then Ramin Karimloo, then Simon Bowman, and the last who sang was Earl Carpenter. You guys should watch the 25th anniversary of Phantom of the Opera. It's a stage performance that's professionally shot. It's just phenomenal. Or try reacting to 'Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess sing Phantom of the Opera'. It's a taste of what the show is and is just pure amazingness all around.

7:24 She wasn't using falsetto. Nicole is clasically trained so she uses *head voice* most of the time even when singing pop. The role of Christine is supposed to be this shy girl who's unaware of her own talent so using a small volume output / dynamic (i.e. singing in piano) fits the character really well. It wouldn't make sense for her to belt out this song.

Sierra Bogess has the best phantom of the opera performances of all time. She performs it in French and English and she performed it on broadway. She's also Ariel in the little mermaid on broadway

I love all these musicals. Phantom, Madame Butterfly, Cats, Miss Saigon, Les Mis, etc. R&B ballads, pop music, etc are great but musicals hold a special place in my musical love.

If you guys knew about being classically trained, women are not trained to belt. They are taught to use their head voice mainly. So whenever you hear an opera, the women will never belt. Classically, men are trained to belt and so that’s what they do in operas. Operas are written on the basis of classical standards. And naturally head voice won’t carry as much as a belt would. Great video👍🏽

But guys, The Phantom of The Opera is a musical. Some would say the most *famous & well known* musical to date. There are many songs from it, this just happens to most popular. (I love musicals & operas...) The 4 men represent the Phantoms and only Christine (Nicole) can see them. One of my fave musicals. Lloyd Webber's work is amazing on this composition!

M-Angel, Filipino kids don't undergo surgery to enhance their vocal ability, most of us are poor, we just love to sing. Almost every home has a videoke, when there are gatherings, parties, reunions there are always videokes. Actually belting in singing in the Philippines is quite a recent phenomena, it just started in the 90's because of the popularity of Regine V, Mariah, Celine & Whitney. I remember during the 80's and even in 70's or 60's we don't have beltings in our singing, but we already are suckers for love songs. Nowadays all kids are belting.

And the song plays on radio, been on loads of TV documentaries over the years among many other things Was last played on TV on at the: Platinum Queen's Platinum Jubilee this Summer! He is having you on surely!!!!!!! he has heard this before or was stranded on a desert island from birth till when this video was filmed. There is no way he has never heard this before! That would be like a friend of mine saying: he has never heard of Memory from the hit musical-CATS 🙄 Or that would be like me saying never heard the song: Defying Gravity from Wicked. I have never seen the musical but the song is in pop culture so no good excuse! My niece who is 3 knows the song, before we started playing it to her she saw the TV adverts for it a dozen times and was singing along! It is one of the most well known songs in the world in general I know this was posted over 3 + half years ago but come on!

It’s musical theater ... The role of Christine which Nicole portrait here was spot on. She’s supposed to be fragile and uncertain about what man to choose, besides “Phantom” plays in a time where women had almost no rights at all ... of course they (women) would behave scared and timid in that particular situation.
