If you chose choice 2 support Devola’s body. you'll get this "As long as we have bodies to support one another… As long as I have someone with whom to share my fate… Then I will press on, no matter what happens to me. Because I won’t ever stop protecting her. I won’t stop. *No one stops.* For that is the fate we twin androids have been assigned."
the moment when you realize all of that suffering and sadness in Nier Automata happens because of your action in the first Nier, good job Yoko Taro.....
True. The Black Flower that SPAWNED the flower is the ULTIMATE ULTIMATE source of all the bullshit, but... That just kinda seems to exist. Or the gods of the Drakengard world made it because... I dunno, the Drakengard gods just seem to be absolute dickheads.
I kept shouting "NO!! NOT AGAIN!!!" in the background... i was furious... but then i heard ballad of the twins and they ran past 9s which basically made my day. I was so happy and felt welcomed when i played this game because they kept throwing references to the first one which i fucking loved. I loved it so much that i would just stand anywhere in the map just to hear the songs. It is also the first game that actually made me shed tears for it's casts. I was happy that nier automata also got those things right.
I honestly do not understand who the hell they are and I only started in nier automata so I dont know wtf is going on with thier story. while they said that the first nier is only for ps3 and i guess i wont be able to play it. So just I pokerfaced ready to fight them and concluding they are the one who cause those cannibal things but i ended up depressed with their thoughts great
@@idk-ye7ur also with how things are going to be soon, nier replicant getting a new release on pc... i dont even care if its gonna be 90$ yoko taro just take my money
Man, the perfect juxtaposition between the twins dying to stop the protagonist in NieR, and now dying to help them, and reconcile their entire line of models, is so good it's heartbreaking. This scene emotionally destroyed me when I first played through, and this wasn't even the climax. I'm sad for all you who didn't play NieR (the original) because you are just not gonna experience this scene in the same way, and that is tragic.
i haven't played the first nier, but from what I've seen it would've been better to have. although this is definitely my favorite game i've played in quite awhile.
Reading what they went through and knowing how it ends makes me cry. In my opinion I believe the androids can best preserve humanity by taking our place and rebuilding
If the Androids and Machines put their differences aside, they could remake humanity. Though all the original humans were lost from the Gestalt Project, and the Replicants have been wiped out. They still have the information of the old world. They have the will to want to live. Pascal showed that the machines could live off the network. That they could grow to understand each other without it and gain a soul. Adam and Eve showed that the machines can evolve. They can become more human. Though humanity is gone, it doesn't mean the remnants of humanity cannot continue on in their place. 2B, 9S, Yohra, and the machines showed they were human plenty of times, even when they didn't understand what that meant.
No what ever genetic material that is on the moon could not be salvaged to recreate humanity, the androids actually tried and failed to use this method. Humanity is just 100 percent gone for good. It's errie exploring humanity lost civilation in this games, walking up a broken escalator in a structure that use to be a shopping mall thousands of years ago for a species who is long extinct. The folly humanity made is putting all effort into saving the existing population instead of preserving genetic material that could be used to recreate humanity anew. Devola and Popala would have been better suited for this task. Unfortunately humanity bad decides to use the crazy elaborate replicate Gestalt method which failed miserably. I mean the freakin cloned replicate were living being and the plan was to essentially steal their bodies to make room for someone else mind, I mean WTF man. What I am wondering now is that are the more advanced Yorha android now all gone due to the destruction of the bunker. Are there more Devola and Popala still operational. I felt real sorry for Devola and Popala reading all the shit they went through only to die in the end as a penance for something they themselves did not commit.
When I say their data is on the moon I don't mean for the machines to recreate humans, I'm talking about analyzing the server on the Moon that held the remaining information on humans that Devola and Popola sent there. Though there's probably enough data still on Earth for them to learn more of humanity. As we saw with the machines, they were evolving. They were becoming more human the further you went through the game. When they disconnected from the Server they had to learn how to communicate with each other through words and actions, making them even more human. They wanted families. They adopted brothers, sisters, and even children. With Yohra's destruction I believe the remaining Androids and Machines can try to coexist. Once again, seeing how they were able to befriend Pascal I have high hopes that more machines will find that peaceful meaning in their lives. However, we also saw that crazy cult of machines and alot of pure evil machines aswell. Just like humans, the machines are so varied in personality and how they react to others. Ultimately I feel they will end up destroying themselves in the end which is sad, but it feels very likely. Though if Adam and Eve were to try and unite the machine kind, there's a chance maybe not? And this isn't even mentioning the remaining Resistance Androids and the Yohra types. Could they ever truly coexist after the years of killing each other's friends and loved ones?
I think most of the machines are gone in NIER Automata's endings anyways--either destroyed when the tower broke apart or left Earth to find a new home for themselves. Surviving androids, however, have proven that they can evolve.
when i first played through automata i felt sad but didn't really understand everything in this scene but after replicant i am now heartbroken and devastated, devola and popola deserve so much better ;-;
This hits different after playing the Nier Replicant Remake for the first time. I remember playing automata during this part and didn’t really get the whole reason why they needed to atone. I read their story though and it touched my heart. But now that I beat Nier replicant, I feel so sorry for them and everything they went through
Right? In that way, playing Nier or Nier Replicant before Automata is higly rewarding, because you can get the whole experience. Not only with Devola & Popola, but also with the Project Gestalt archives, Emil's side quest, the Library inside the tower, etc.
The best thing is, in Automata the same way the player, after playing Replicant, assumes they're about to attack 9S and they don't, is exactly the same discriminatory attitude they faced their whole lives. Just because of the Devola and Popola from another town.
Yeah you're right. They're not the same. I just felt so conflicted. Nier Kaine and Emil have been friends with them for so long. It's all just so sad. But all the other Dev and Pop models shouldn't be responsible for the two you encountered in NieR. In the end the Dev and Pop models were only doing their jobs for the humans. It's not a good or bad side thing, it's just a different belief kinda thing. :(
after playing Replicant and then going back to this, hearing 'Song Of The Ancients' being played during the fight has so much impact to this whole scene!
they're type-3 swords. kaine's swords don't have points, if i recall correctly. considering that it's yoko taro, though, it wouldn't be unreasonable to say that those swords were modeled after kaine's swords, though.
My northstar is enough to give PTSD when flight core is active. Idk how many YoRHa units I scared when they chased the IMS ship I was in. I also feel that too, they probably panicked. Me using Scorch on titanfall 2 master difficulty against myself is a pain Nvm you’re favorite human pilot is drunk now and I’m better now, playing mirror’s edge Heh heh I’m so numb
"We'd talk to the Replicants as if we didn't have a care in the world. But at night, we'd just hold each other and share the horror of it all". Putting myself in their shoes, I honestly felt horrified for them.
@@angrytwxgaming8423 Yeah I get it. It's like when you come up upon Kaine's shack in a nest of lunar tears and then Salvation starts playing. Just remarking that every single track from this game gives me pause.
0:55-1:34 This metallic sound effect stacking up to the music as the hacking progresses, it's so amazing. All the warm, sad and fuzzy nostalgia from the original Nier sounds now so rusty and old. Therefore, shines even brighter. ;_; I wonder if it's all intended to work like that or I'm overthinking it. But Keiichi Okabe is a goddamn genius, that's for sure.
When I did this part, Popola got stuck behind the door in the tower, so it was just Devola doing everything herself... Kind of went against their whole twin thing...
People say warn Nier? Even if they had told Nier exactly what he was and what Weiss was you think he would care, understand or even listen? Nier was so one track minded all he cared about was killing shades and saving Yonah. He would probably turn on them sooner.
I am new into these kind of games and I never played any Nier franchise before. These days I'm into sinoalice and I really love the story behind the twins so here I am. Crying.
So many moments in this game that feels so intense, then the music comes and hightens every freaking emotion you might have. Other makers og games have something to learn here. This game made me actually care what happens in the game. Well done.
Why are the novel parts the most touching ones? And that zoom out whith their song playing. I haven't played the original Nier but I know it's their song. Even the song's name in Automata - Atonement- adds to the sadness ._.
Yup, and in the original game its the song that places in the main town you start in, but the vocals dont come in untill you approach Devola by the fountain, who is singing the song, and then they also fade away as you get away from her. It was literally the best thing.
@@AxisKoi yeah, and afterwards i honestly felt like even after how they manipulated both NieR and the Shadowlord, how they used Kalil and P-33, The Aerie, Fyra, the wolf shade, and now Louise as scapegoats and still letting project Gestalt fail because of the way they handled the situation, i honestly felt i could forgive them.
I've never played any of the Nier games, only listened to the OST, and when I went to watch this I never expected to bawl my eyes out when that zoom out kicks in. Holy shit.
I played Automata with no context to the original Nier or even Drakengard, so this scene flew way over my head. Now, after finishing Replicant's route A just today, it's all too clear. Pain. I'm so sad.
I decided to rewatch this scene after playing replicant and oh my god... this scene already made me cry but now that I know what actually happened it just emotionally destroyed me
Haven't played NieR, so I was very suspicious of Devola and Popola as they looked a bit dislocated in the story... I was also pleasently surprised when they showed up to help me instead of attacking me.
The way that they were being treated, how they were being turned against, and how they are programmed to feel guilty.. I can only say the fates are cruel.. This is the first game that able to make me feel gut and heart wrenching by just reading text
I'm one of the people who's lucky to experience nier replicant with the remake version for the first time(played automata first) but I'm also one of the people who envies the people who played the original and experiences this scene for the first time, when they played the song of the ancients here it just punched me with lot's of emotions. I wish I experienced that but i atleast consider fighting grimoire noir on par with this scene and the 2nd fight with the twins. Goddamn yoko taro is such a genius
Finally after playing the replicant remake, reading documents and lore, all the pieces are coming together. What a masterpiece this whole story is, just incredible.
When you next arrive as A2 and Devola is sat inside with her Popola is ;.; there are so many amazing juxtapositions - the final one being Devola is the last one alive outta the two when she died first in the first Nier x
Now for an adapted version of a sabaton song that could work if adapted Now that our time has come to fight Androids must unite We'll make a stand on stable ground To put a challenge to the cogs We are one, we have come We're here to break and end the occupation We have our future's fate in hand It's time we make our final stand Rally all the camps Aliens advance Oil of machines Point of no return Join the android revolution Freedom must be won by oil Now we call for revolution Play the track and cry out loud
When you know he truth behind those two (RepliCant), really, this scene part becomes just beautiful. I feel a little sad that they nerfed Devola and Popola so tremendously for Automata, their power rivals that of Emil, Nier and the Shadowlord... They should really be powerful enough to boom all of those machines away. Oh well, it was a beautiful moment and a glorious return regardless.
Hardly, NieR fought extremely powerful magic users who could literally explode a chunk of the world. 9S and 2B just fought robots with mild destructive power. The most powerful creature in Automata's world appears to be Grum, and he ain't that much.
Hardly. Emil's in Automata were clearly out of control and couldn't fight, all they could do was throw attacks around, which is quite visible. Fighting something that thinks is on another level. Also Emil is not as powerful as Automata fans want you to think, Emil could BARELY hold back the blast of a full burst Popola.
This was a great opportunity to farm Gs. Dont hack the door just yet. Collect all the item drops and Gs while Devola and Popola does all the fighting for you.
