The OST reminded me more of Toby Fox if anything. The Tera Raid battle theme, and Area Zero Music (The area itself, the paradox/non paradox battle theme, and SPOILER battle theme) being a leitmotif, and having familiar sounds (Area Zero has a similar synth progression to CORE, for example ), just really reminded me of why I enjoy his arrangement style so much, even if I think my undertale phase was cringe in retrospect
I'm on the same weird boat. This game is buggy and stuff and it's distracting, but the game itself is actually fun. Sword and Shield got me sleepy so many times. This one got me exploring and looking for Pokemon all over. Still weird we still don't have voice acting in a mainline game. We've got voice acting in Pokemon Masters EX and a few spin offs.
If we're talking switch games I'd still prefer 8, but gen9 is by no means that bad. The constant lags, terrible graphics, shitty bugs and all that are horrendous, but the gameplay's still fun. Had me entranced for a solid few days. In retrospect I'm unlikely to wanna get back into the game, but I certainly got my time's worth out of it.
I've been binging quite a few vids starting from the Gravity Rush ones and this channel is easily becoming one of my favourites. Top tier quality and humour
I still say that my favorite graphical glitch was Wiglet and the Player's model clipping into each other, because mentally I am a 12 year old. (Also this combined with NPC models eyes glitching out to extend of the face)
It also has the benefit of being a pokémon game. The core pokemon gameplay is pretty fun and engaging, there's a reason why it barely changed over the course of the years.
SV being as technically flawed as it is isn't great, But from my experience these things don't affect all the game too much; Plus most of the more severe glitches ere probably ones you have to go out of you way to trigger. During my playthrough, The worst I saw was a bug where Miraidon was invisible, And all I said was: "Huh?".
Is it weird to say I find the jankiness endearing? (Especially the backwards long jump, lol) Like, should they have spent more time polishing and optimizing the game? Yes. But the glitches were what drew my attention towards Scarlet/Violet in the first place. I was vaguely aware of them releasing and what the starters and professors looked like, but I didn't really start looking into them until I started watching funny glitch compilation videos. Then I saw some of the banger Pokemon designs _(Tinkaton, Fidough, and Maushold, my beloveds-)_ and read up on the story and characters and I was hooked. I went from having no intention of checking out the new games to falling down the Pokemon rabbit hole just as deeply as with Moon five years back. Violet is currently my go-to game to unwind, and I love it to bits.
For me, this game was fun for a while (like a week) then I beat the main game and immediately dropped it. I don't know why but I just can't muster the energy to play it more. I will say though, I loved Penny, Nemona, and especially Arven. Their dialouge in area zero was genuinely funny and charming.

41:32 Finally someone recognised it. I thought the same. I like Rhyme even though the representation of rap sucks even in english. My boyfriend listens to Rap all the time so he knows at least a bit what sounds whack in our language and what not. Grusha is still the best gym leader since he is really... attractive for me. And Tulip is great even though I'm not wearing make up since I'm too lazy but psychic gym leaders are the best Damn that Herba Mystica joke doesn't work in my language. It's more a GG not a VM like usual. Well GG for the english version

Nah we don't want em to go back to SnS. I'm sure not everyone wants more Arceus gameplay but I sure do. The freedom to catch mons on the go, move in battle, and it was actually kinda tuff without making up extra rules Arceus was my favorite pokemon game in a long time

If they dub Pokémon I really think if they do for the Japanese version Japanese only and the rest the English voiced and changed to censored version. For other languages that would take more time and money
Been a fan since the first hour and I still have a huge soft spot in my heart for Pokémon - always will. But I have to admit I am just getting plain tired of Gamefreak's bullshit and lack of will to evolve at an acceptable pace in relation to their money (or at least deliver a quality product) .
@Lyric I think in over 25 years, they could’ve strayed a little more from the base formular by now. Legends Arceus was such a big hit (albeit graphically falling behind) because it pushed the boundaries. Ergo, I think it‘s a shortcoming because the formula is stale and outdated by now. I just feel so hurt after all these years that the newer games never realize their full potential while still making bank.
Wasn't expecting to hear American Mcgee's Alice music or a reference to DL-6 in the same video. Very nice. It sounds like the game could be fun, but it's somehow as janky looking as Skyrim without any patches with worse performance. A shame really.

I feel like the text in the thumbnail sums it up nicely. Like I can’t praise how clearly rushed out this game was, but there was clearly more evident heart put into this game than the last few 3D offerings, sans maybe alola. I really wish the devs got more time to work on this game, I think we all agree we got paldea way too early, even if I do love it

I've said it before and I'll say it again If they were actually able to finish the game it would be the best one since Black and White 2. Much like Sonic Frontiers, you can feel that the devs were actually passionate and wanted to make a truly great experience, as well as tell an actual heartfelt story. If only GameFreak had more time......
small indie company, cant hire more people or outsource workload its definetly that, not that they are actually incompetent and MOSTLY they know pokemon paypigs will buy the game no matter the state (And this games launch is proof of that)
@@ricardomilos10 It's not about outsourcing or hiring more people. Even CoD cannot push games out with a development cycle of 1 and a half years. GameFreak released 2 large games in less than a year with about 1 and a half to 2 years of development time each. They genuinely just don't have enough time to finish a game because they have to keep pace with the Anime, TCG, merch, etc etc. Even Monolithsoft, some of the best programmers could not make a game on the scale of Scarlet and Violet in 2 years.
All I can really say about Scarlet and Violet is that "at least it's better than Sword and Shield". I feel like I'm crazy. Everyone says "b-but outside of the numerous glitches, i-its great!" I mean, the final area was cool I guess, and I'm glad they greatly reduced the handholding but the open world is pretty boring to explore because it's lazily structured with literal 90-degree angles in its enviroment that lead to collision and clipping issues and environments just transition instantly with no cohesion. The open world still in a way "forces" you to take a specific path because of how the badges are implemented. I don't find it that big of a deal that levels don't scale, but capture levels should have depended on your total badge count instead of gym leader completion so one of the main appeal of Pokemon soon becomes a pain in the ass if you don't keep on top of gyms. Tera Raids are trash in execution and I'm already sick of them. Constant desyncing and soft-locking. Playing with others is like pulling teeth because the communication is nearly non-existent. And it's not like it matters if you did have true communication options because of said desyncing. I did 99% of my raids solo because it's easier and quicker to do them that way. The meta has already stagnated with everyone using the same 8 teams because more than half the dext is bloated with unviable Shitmons. And we still dont't have multiplayer options such as lobbies, custom rulesets, spectator modes, and so on. Maybe I want to set up a lobby and play with Season 1's rulings. The only way I can do that is scour the internet and set up a time with a person to do so. I want to do this all ingame. I shouldn't have to rely on outside devices. Speaking of multiplayer, where the hell are the online competitions? Sword and Shield did plenty of them. We're four months in and we've only had 2. Sword and Shield had more than double at this point. I'm not even excited for the DLC and most likely will skip out on it entirely unless they make EXTENSIVE changes. And they have the nerve to announce DLC too when their game is still hanging by threads. Pathetic! I feel like people give Scarlet and Violet much unneeded praise because Sword and Shield were such dogshit. I'd replay Legends Arceus before I do Scarlet and Violet and I still feel the former is the best "mainline" Pokemon game on the Switch. And even then I still don't think it's all that great.
Sword and Shield weren't that bad as games, they were moderate to less satisfying at best. Also since you didn't play Legends Arceus you're missing out.
