Today, we're talking about how NieR: Automata completely changed my perspective on the world and made me think in a different way. It gave my life a separate meaning that I didn't know were there. This game has one of the most incredible stories I've experienced and I hope you enjoy what I have to share about it.

Would love to see you do this for the original Final Fantasy 7, not the remake. Best story and music of any game ever. And it will most definitely make you cry. First playthrough if you grind a bit to get to max level, might take about 100 hours if you go looking for everything. IMO FF7 is the best game of all time. Done all Souls and soul like games , and of course Nier Automata. Ff7 saved my life for real.

How does everyone mess the name up. Everyone. Every time. "Ah-tow/toe-mah-tah" is the correct and intended way to say it. "Automata" in the vein of 'Automaton' can be stated in Japanese as well, but Yoko Taro intentionally intends for it to be pronounced a certain way; it's not a linguistic difference, it's an intentional pronunciation. Other than that it is great that you were touched by the game, the DrakeNieR Franchise is exceptionally profound yet each one manages to touch a different subject of philosophy and what it means to be human.

@kyleward7417 There's something great about ending E. It tells us clearly that even with the death and suffering we leave in this world, there is always a chance of an afterlife. Remembering 2B, 9S and A2's deaths, their old bodies have been left behind and their new bodies restored in a world where they wouldn't have to suffer anymore. That's the beauty of nier automata

Nier automata, is the rare gem of a game, that has a deep philosophical story about life and what it means to be human. The game takes their time for each character to have their personality and story, and their struggles in a post apocalyptic world to find meaning in life and connections. Especially the Weight of the world song, is uplifting in my opinion, in a way it gives you hope.

The NieR series as a whole is beyond words as nothing I could say would justify how much I love and adore the games (I recommend trying NieR Replicant if you haven’t) NieR Automata is different in a good way the gameplay changes, evolving story through the play-through, the cast we follow we watch our characters grow and recess through grief, fear and rage as well as understand their sacrifices (especially in other content outside the game). My favourite part of ending E is that You ,the player, get the option to sacrifice something like the characters you’ve watched over the last 40-60 hours of gameplay, you get too give up your data for the sake of another who may be struggling just like you could’ve been it really brings the theme of sacrifice full circle and the fact that you/your data becomes officially are of the game is actually awesome.

The whole game is based on the Mahayana Buddhism's concept of detachment and compassion. Anything you do it for ego's sake will ended up causing more suffering. With true, self-less compassion to help others w/o any expectation of reward, you free yourself from the attachment of your own ego. Even erasing the proof of your own existence will bring true release from the pains of ego-clinging. Not many game or any other media has based itself on Mahayana Buddhist teachings, and to do it in this fashion, with millions of players not realizing the underpinning philosophy is actually dharma teachings, it nothing short of astonishing. Yoko Taro is a true genius.

Also you might not know, but when you meet Anemone for the first time she says " You're...number 2..." she sounds very sad in kinda weird way, well it's kinda a reference to a book, since A2 and Anemone were friends and something happened, to be exact when A2 says" the bunker is the one that betrayed you" what she exactly meant is in the book so if you enjoyed game I also recommend book named NieR Automata Short Story Long. Watching this (and some other stuff) after playing because I didn't quite understand what made Automata so special to other people. I had high expectations for the game because, obviously I would, and because I played Nier: Replicant and enjoyed that. The game definitely didn't hit me like it hit others unfortunately. But I knew for sure that the messages of automata flew over my head. I think I'm understanding the message a lot better now. A bunch of robots going through different methods trying to understand humanity and what the purpose of life is. Meanwhile the 2 most human characters we see are just two people on a meaningless ride, together. And that's all that really matters: that they have each other. I think it started to hit a bit more for me in retrospect after I decided to give up the game. Leaving behind 9s, 2b and their world made me realize how enjoyable those two were. Like that feeling after you finish a good book or show, and the fictional world that you were immersed in just ceases to exist, and you start to miss it. There's just something special to me about two people who care for each other, just getting by in such a sad world. For some reason I got a bit teary writing this comment. I think I went through the game a bit too fast and didn't play many side quests. I went weeks between playing because it's hard for me to sit down and play single player games (dopamine addict) and Nier's gameplay wasn't too enjoyable for me. So, I just wanted to rush to the end and I didn't spend much time appreciating everything that was in between. But there's still hope, because I didn't delete my save file so I can always go back and do everything I missed (which is pretty much every side quest tbh). I also really enjoyed the message about people being there for each other and how that affected your life. I can definitely understand a lot more about how this game has impacted people, thanks to this video.

The prologue was fun but tough so I changed to easy. Went back to normal then and enjoyed route A but didn't feel it was anything too special. Route C changed everything. I cried so much and got so absorbed into everything. This is the greatest game ever made

Got Nier after one day accidentally playing a part of the ost on youtube via a missclick. Before then I thought it was just anime maid bait, but the Amusement Park theme pulled me in headfirst out of nowhere. Fantastic game.

I Freaking love Nier Automata. I haven’t gotten all the endings but it’s an incredibly crafted narrative and world with the typical rpg style gameplay. A masterpiece easily

Automata is such a unique experience that their really is no one who gave it a genuine chance and pulled through ending E and not come out with a different outlook to every day life to some degree. On that same note though automata is a much more polished product its prequel Replicant also is such a interesting journey and exploration of introspective themes, hope you can give it a shot aswell

This has motivated me to give Nier another go, I tried it before after I finished Sekiro for the 7th time 😅 and it just wasn’t scratching that itch. Been meaning to give it another go and after watching this and hearing your thoughts (which I highly rate) I’m definitely revisiting it now that I’m done with God of War: Ragnarok

Only the MGS series have given me the same sort of emotional rollercoaster that Nier Automata did.

Nier Automata is undeniably a modern, timeless classic. It really surprised me positively, and in general reminded me of the early 00s' PS2 era mega classics like MGS2, SH2, Ico/SotC... on top of having a mood that's very akin to something like Ghost In The Shell. Having not followed anything Yoko Taro had created, and having only seen the very... off-brand image of 2B on the webs, I was ready to ignore and dismiss and ignore Automata as another T&A meme game. BOY, am I glad I was convinced to give it a shot, or I'd missed a true GOTYAY. I legit spent dozens of hours in the chapter A alone (no, they're not really "playthroughs"), and I for one actually adored playing as 9S + the shooting / hacking aspects. It's kinda funny how you go into great lengths to defend games as an art-format that has all the right to move and change people, as that's exactly what they have been for me. For a good 30 years. From the you-know what scenes in FF7, to some actually damn emotional moments in Metal Gear and Silent Hill, I grew up with games that took me to a real rollercoaster of emotions and sacred knowledge. I guess that side of the industry's been kinda fading the last decade or so, but fortunately we still get a game like NieR every once in a while. The big E really opened up my canals, I tell you that. Just hearing the Weight Of The World reminds me of that moment I gave up my 80 hours of progress for someone out there.

I believe that selflessness can be good OR evil, depending on what you mean. There has to be a YOU to exist and help others. They have their own YOU they stare in the mirror. But taking care of yourself doesn't have to come at the expense of others, or mean that helping others is beneath you. Same for helping yourself. I gotta actually play this game sometime. Bless the game's creator; he pulled me in with android ass and made a humanitarian plot line straight out of a novel.

About two weeks ago, I found out that this game was on switch. I obviously purchased it and I couldn't believe the graphics, OST, story that it conveyed to its players. I haven't finished yet since I am midway through Route B and playing it with my 7 year old sister (I am 18) who takes the left joy con when we explore only (its like pacific rim where u have two pilots controlling the same robot). Haven't cried yet as it has not hit me hard but it is depressing asf. However I never wanted a switch and wished for a ps4 instead from about 2 years ago because it was cheaper and had the mature games I really wanted (Spiderman, GOW, Souls games). I wanted my mother to return it as she had got me the switch as a Christmas present. Thus, my console just sat in the same spot without me touching it for 2 years straight as I did not like Mario and other first party Nintendo games. After finishing my final high school exams this year to then move into college, I wanted to sell the switch to get money for the ps4. But a question raised in my head "should I be grateful for at least getting gifted a nice console in everyone's eyes that I deemed obsolete because I didn't get the one I wanted?" Hence, I actually decided to keep the switch and next thing I knew was that I purchased games with my own money like the Bayonetta trilogy, DBFZ, NFS Hot Pursuit, and eventually Nier Automata: The End of Yorha Edition. Although I won't get to play the souls game I really wanted like Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Dark Souls 3 on the switch, at the very least Dark Souls Remastered is on the switch port. So I am glad that I stuck with the switch otherwise I couldn't have discovered Nier Automata at all since it got famous on the port as soon as it released. But ye, this game is greatest one I have played.

NieR: Automata... still the only game I've ever platinum'd I remember picking it up for the promise of the MGR-like gameplay and wanting to see how dark can a Yoko Taro game truly get... I had no idea This game broke me bit by bit until the ending after crushing my soul, this game filled the hole it created with hope- a reminder that there is a tomorrow to look forward to and that we are not alone in this journey and this video... it made me realize something quite amusing- there's a sentence that really brings out what this made me feel: that sentence: Glory To Mankind

Nier Automata + Replicant changed my perspective on gaming and gaming as a medium for in-depth emotional storytelling. In Automata it was the philosophical themes and with Replicant it was the characters and their struggles that won me over.
