Let's start the year 2018 with a piano medley arrangement from one of my favorite video games: NieR:Automata!
Initially, my plan was to create a medley consisting of the first three chapters of the game: "City Ruins", "Memories of Dust" and "Amusement Park". But during my recording session, I started to improvise the melody "Vague Hope" as well, because this is one of my favorite tracks from the NieR:Automata Soundtrack. I also wanted to create an exciting finale for this medley so I added the first boss battle song "A Beautiful Song" as well at the end.
Did I mention that I absolutely love the NieR:Automata soundtrack? Pretty much every piece from the soundtrack album is a masterpiece by itself.
This piano medley can also be regarded as the "first" part of the NieR:Automata experience. Only the first three (?) main missions are done (exploring the ruined city, traveling through the desert, reaching the amusement park and beating the first boss Beauvoir) and the musical continuation would be the forest kingdom theme. Maybe I will do a NieR:Automata Medley Part II in the future to continue this medley.

Mate, 1 million. What a number. I've lost count of how many years I've watched your channel. How you've grown, improved, inspired. Your most emotional pieces are some that are incomparable to most versions out there; teaching and showing everyone how to match accuracy and beauty while still creating some of the most technically demanding covers out there. Your work is so crisp that many yearn for that precision with the pedal, keys, transcriptions. You have inspired hundreds, possibly thousands (easily) to play the piano. Pick up a keyboard, search for teachers, download sheet music. Myself included. I feel invincible when I play your music on stage. I'm never scared now. But why? Why? It's because I know how selfish it would be to not be more excited to show the world your music from my fingers. I speak for myself and the majority when it comes to thanking you, thanking you for the community that you and many others have created, from almost nothing. You have showed us all what it means to be a musician - classical, jazz, modern, etc. You have shown us all that I strive to be. Your music has encouraged me to sit a the piano a little longer, to be excited to learn new pieces, to push a little more when I perform. You inspired me to carry on my dream of being a musician. Anime Nerd I can relate , I have been playing the piano for a few years and these days , it's more of a task than a hobby so I lose interest and my music sounds rather expressionless but when I watch this inspiring man play, I feel that urge to try harder so I can reach that level. Animenz has kept my fire burning when it comes to playing the piano for a while now

Yeah same here. Even though I started to play the No Game No Life Arrangement two weeks ago, I already feel... kind of invincible, sort of proud. No idea how to describe that feeling. The piece makes me sit down for hours and just practice it and even those nasty finger exercises. One time I want to play Jiyuu no Tsubasa on stage, that is my dream.

I almost cry for your everything. 私が中学生の頃、学校でいちばん居心地が良かったのが音楽室のグランドピアノの前の椅子でした。合唱部でしたが、ピアノで時折「翼をください」伴奏曲を弾いてみたり。コントラバスでも遊んでましたが、圧倒的にグランドピアノでしたね。グランドピアノを弾く天使がずっと私のそばにいたのに今までずっと気がつかなかったなんてね。運命って本当に皮肉だね。

Nier: Automata is a very underrated game. The main aspect that makes this game truly unique is its soundtrack. One of the best soundtracks in my opinion. I'm glad you acknowledged the work of Keiichi Okabe and the other composers. Keep it up!

Nier Automata is not underrated. It is overlooked because of other games that came up around the same time, which is a bit different. It was still highly appreciated especially in Japan. The underrated game is Nier Gestalt, though it gained a cult following after.

Commenting to help increase video exposure. Nier: Automata's soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in a video game so seeing Animenz finally uploading this video had me literally screaming when I saw the notification, haha. Really excited to see future videos, especially around the Spring 2018 anime season when so many anticipated anime will be aired accompanied by great sounding OSTs (hopefully). Just picked up this game a week ago, got about 11 hours in so far and I love it so much. So much character and atmosphere created. Just listening to you play right now makes me feel like I'm in the game again. Fantastic work

There's an amazing trance to watch his hands when he play the piano, it's like watching how graceful his fingers dance on the keys yet still powerful when playing on the notes...Animenz dude, you really inspired a lot of people including me, and since I've followed you 10 years ago, you've become a wonderful memory during my piano-learning days even though I don't pursue music any longer. I still love music and I only play the piano just to practice those old time transcriptions I (still) never get to play properly x') Please keep on inspiring people with your music! Going to your concert is absolutely one of my must-do wishlist.
