@@yw5617 When I hear it, it makes me think of gatherings with special people of my life, or even people I don.t know. A feeling of mild nostalgia takes over me, or a feeling that tells me something beautiful will happen. I.m in love with the first song, and never watched the show.
I just think it's because the show is great and when you listen to the music you remember the emotions and feels from the scenes that the song was being played in
Lol same... then I watched the movie Rebellion... became addicted and thus watched it again spent my Christmas money and bought the three mangas of this series along with Puella Magi Madoka Magica "the different story" AMAZING BTW and... I HAVE. HOMURA AND MADOKA PLUSHIES
Magica Madoka had one of the best sound tracks of all time, and it's probably the best work of Yuki Kajiura, who did sound track for seri like fate/zero, SAO, fate stay night, kara no kyoukai, baccano, etc
While I have no attachment to Madoka (I've never watched the anime or the movies), I never turn a deaf ear to great music. Dat octave slashing in The battle against Walpurgisnacht, and dem double arpeggios at 6:54 ;A; TOO GOOD, GOOD SIR
Because of this freaking amazingly awesome video, I decided to watch this anime. The only other magical girl anime I've watched was Cardcaptor Sakura (which is a great anime by the way) So I decided to watch Madoka. I wasn't extremely obsessed with the story, but the animation was awesome, and I love Shaft, so I definitely had to continue watching. AND THEN EPISODE 3 CAME AND I WAS LIKE WHAT EVEN JUST HAPPENED AND LIKE OH MY MAGICAL GIRL I BINGED THE REST OF THAT SHIT ALL NIGHT So thank you, Animenz.
wathe nube Oh gosh. Well. If you're a cardcaptor sakura fan, then this'll completely change your view on the magical girl genre. For the first two episodes, it might seem like a feel-good magical girl/highschool-slice-of-life anime... But then there's episode 3. It'll change EVERYTHING about the magical-girl genre to you. (and this episode is why it is classified as an adult anime XD) Overall, its amazing tho!!!!! You need to watch it.
Dear Animenz, Thank you for making this arrangement public. I believe that Madoka Magica was a classic, enjoyable anime for so many people. I truly enjoyed the series for its amazing design and ambitiously deceptive plot. I will take the time to learn to play this wonderful arrangement. As with all your videos, thank you for keeping the spirit of music alive for thousands! See you in 2016! Sincerely, ~Pyruvate
When 6:00 came on I got chills. This entire medley is so soothing. To maintain the power of Yuki Kajiura's composing even when using only a piano is incredible!
TheSLK66 You should listen to Gunbusters, Initial D, Gundam SEED, Symphogear, Mai-Hime, Macross Frontier, Revolutionary girl Utena and.. i'm probably forgetting a butt ton. Anywho.. there's always a composer out there with their own style ready to challenge the next artist, doesn't necessarily mean they're better.
I do not recommend to make homeworks while listening to this, you will end up looking in the air right infront of your book. ^^ Well i'm doing it anyways because i can't resist to listen to this
I heard the rumors about being dark, but when I didn't listen. I watched it anyways thinking that the people who said that were exaggerating. Boy was I wrong.
This made me cry omg. Just finished the show yesterday and hearing Sayakas theme made me so sad. She was the best character in the show. Amazing job!!!!
Just finished anime. I wasn't expecting anything big. However, this show simply blew my mind. That was so epic O.o Just throw in a blender Steins:Gate + Eva + Yuki Kajiura + SHAFT, blend them together and you will get a majestic series.
Cool. Now whatever you do, DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIES. #1 and #2, ok, fine, since they're essentially the whole anime made into two movies. But don't watch the 3rd one, since it completely destroys how the anime ended and replaces it with what I call, utter bullshit.
***** I completely disagree with you. I've watched all 3 movies. First 2 movies were redrawn with additional scenes, I really liked them. Re-experienced amazingly well. And Rebelion gives you another ending, which is fantastic as, just It was a bit confusing, it doesnt make it bullshit, tho.
Yeah, but associating music with memory and emotion is the point of music. By watching the show (which isn't what it may seem at first) the feelings of dread, regret and fear really come to the surface and the experience is phenomenal.
does anyone know what this type of music is called? i really love this kind but i don’t know the name it’s not classical or anything but it’s not like modern someone help me out
The way Credens Justitiam just lifts your spirits when you first hear it, I justlove it! I adore the way you made this! Consider me as good as subscribed!
I'm happy to see a medley that captures the darkness and the awesomeness that Madoka Magica is. whenever I see things that are Madoka Magica related, it always seems that madoka magica was a light hearted anime, but this medley captures the darkness of it so well
I watched Madoka Magica when I was like 7 and I watched it again because memories and I swear I didnt remember it being that sad, now every time I listen to a song from it I have the urge to cry and omigod this made me cry legit xD
You haven't watch Madoka? Then *DO IT* ! One of the best anime ever, but you need some basic general knowledge of anime to understand the nuance and twist which might turn off some people, my friend tried to watch it and he just don't get it lol
It's funny because Madoka was the second anime I ever watched completely, so I didn't know it was such a departure from regular tropes at the time. And yet it still to this day is my favorite anime. I have never seen anything that compared. Stein's Gate is the only one that came close.
Outright one of the best *TV shows* ever if you ask me. I've yet to find another story that captivates me like Madoka did. I'm not just saying that because it's an anime and I'm weeb trash either.
I have a new appreciation for some of the soundtrack after hearing this. Goddess of Hope, as the name suggests, sounds incredibly hopeful when played on a piano
Been working on playing this for the past 6 months, about 2:50 into it so far, this is such a monstrously hard piece to play! But it's an excellent long term project. I'l go until I'm at the end :P
+Murtag yeah I'm also working on this piece, I think the hardest part of entire medley is 3:17 - those double arpeggios makes me mad. Also 6:44 is pain to play due to polyrhythms...
+Murtag I hope to eventually play this. Definitely a long term goal for me on piano. I am a beginner at piano and hoping within the next few years I will be able to play this. Lots of hard work ahead!
This never fails to make me want to watch this anime once again. It was one of the best I ever saw. The music, the characters, the scenario, it was incredible. I rememeber the beauty, the sadness - the despair. Thank you for sharing all of that with us, through your music.
Madoka is one of my favorite anime of all time. It really presents itself as this cute magical girl show complete with bows and hearts. But it’s actually a thrilling and kinda depressing horror. Animenz, this cover is absolutely beautiful. It captures the spirit of Madoka perfectly. I still can’t get over Battle of Walpiurgisnacht and Goddess of Hope. Please keep giving us this wonderful music and to whoever may be reading this: don’t sell your soul to a cartoon cat.
I've seen this video about 2 dozen times and I'm still amazed by it. I couldn't dream of being able to play this in the next decade LOL Thanks for uploading, I enjoy listening to it very much!
This is absolutely astounding, and i think that i have the right to say this medley is on the classical music level. Perfect pieces selection, perfect arrangement, rich and masterful. However, the way you play it touches the very depth of my soul, every single sound shining so bright, every note so distinct and full of its own meaning, sparkling manifestation of life, or freezing grief. I believe, Madoka anime is truly genial, one of blazing beacons of modern art. So good that geniality of one thing inspires even more. Thank you for this music, and please play more like this.
Never watched Madoka, but that's some damn good performance there! I like how you bend your index finger during those parts such as at 2:35 in the left hand :)
This really.... oh..... splendid speechless. The runs towards the end.... Is there a limit to piano. I don't think so. Thankyou Animenz. Once again, tried to motivate me in playing the piano and the never giving up spirit! Got to sleep now. :D have a nice day or night.
i swear everything yuki touches becomes magic..... i esp love pandora hearts osts and madoka's seriously damn beautiful i swear bless yuki and ofc animenz bc wth pianogodmuch
I want to thank you for posting links to the sheet music. Its amazing to watch you play, but so much more joy to spread the ability to play it to others
This is one of my favorite videos I've ever come across on RU-vid. I always come back to listen when I think about Madoka. Your medley is so gorgeously done. Thank you for sharing!
wathe nube this piano medley is a cover of the soundtrack for madoka magicka, which yuki kajiura composed the music for, so yes. and yeah her work is grand!
Because of studies I don’t have time and patience to learn the last 2 songs of the medley. Basically already learned the introduction and magical girls. That’s so amazing and enjoyable to play... Thanks Animenz !
In celebration of the new movie release being announced along with a new trailer drop. Ive made it my mission to rewatch all of the videos related to the series that i initially saw as a kid. Madoka Magica made a huge impact on my childhood up through adulthood. Im glad i lived long enough to see the continuation. And thank you for making this Majestic Piano Arrangement. Even my grandmother fell in love with it with me playing it everytime i was in the car with her throughout highschool. Thank you for the pleasant memories!
I cannot express to you how AMAZING this arrangement you have concocted is. As a pianist, I aspire to reach this level of greatness. Thank you for blessing us with your astonishing work. If I could turn the volume up past 100 I would.
When I was watching anime, I never really noticed the background soundtrack until seeing people like animenz play them. I didn't realised how much music impact the theme, story and us emotionally. Thank you for this piece :D
I was expecting maybe the OP or the ED to Madoka, but I was given this amazing play with the memories of some of the best scenes of Madoka. Bravo... bravo...
