I also just uploaded a piano cover of Howl's Moving Castle - Merry-Go-Round of Life! Basically the missing piece in this Ghibli medley. Please check my RU-vid Channel!
Joe Hisaishi always gets you with his melodies.... They all have something in common you can't really put into words. Good thing is that music is a language that everyone understands.
I literally started to cry during the "Spirited Away" song... I used to watch it with my dad and he passed away recently.... amazing performance buddy....
I rewatched it yesterday with my dad too, just thinking about your situation makes my eyes wet. I really feel you and I hope you to be surrounded by kind people.
Justin Y. That’s because Studio Ghibli OSTs resonate a specific calming effect imo. Anyway. A wild adaptation might or might not be cool but it would tarnish one of the things that makes SG OSTs ambrosial.
Animenz, I want to take this opportunity to thank you ! I am a pianist myself, but before I discovered your Channel 2 years ago, I was rather lazy at practice and I never made any real progress. Playing the Piano was fun, but I was never motivated in becoming better. I‘d rather sit in Front of my screen and start playing video games or watching Animes than playing some random classical piece over and over again. This was until I discovered you and your Anime-arrangements. The Idea of combining my Hobby (watching Animes) with Piano was fascinating! Your arrangements were beautiful and also not that easy to play, which is why I had to improve my skills in order to Play them. Because of you I found a new purpose in practicing. And today, playing the Piano is my favourite Hobby and I strive to become as good as you. So thank you for inspiring me and I really look forward for your future arrangements! Keep doing what you are doing !
Fun fact: the exact samething happened to me. I even asked my parents to continue my piano lessons in my city's conservatory, but I stopped because I didn't work enough, I couldn't deal with both school and piano (and guitar). Now, I keep practising everyday on my own to improve as much as I can. Thanks Animenz for giving us motivation!
lol, I can relate to this as I was just a lazy ass that only really put in half the effort into my practice. After seeing Animenz and Theisther I kinda had a change of heart towards the piano. I stopped seeing it as something that took away my gaming or anime watching time and saw it as something that can further my love for the medium. An absolute inspiration in my case and I'm sure for many other musician out there who've seen his work.
Same with me. I've been playing for a few years and I know I can be way better than I am, but I guess I'm too lazy. But seeing how far you can go with playing the piano really motivates me to do better.
He has already been teaching in a city of Germany. I tried to visit him once but sadly he wasn't there that day and my whole journey was kinda wasted 😢😂
Matti Matasch Dang...lucky people in Germany 😢 I've lots of questions I want to ask him, but I'd rather do it after meeting him. But best of luck if you ever try again!
A mix of fancy and simple is best. Some of these anime cover types try getting super fancy and ruin the piece. Often taking the sound and making it sound like mud.
I am so happy you included The Wind Rises in your medley! It is one of my favorite Ghibli stories, but you don’t hear it very often. Thank you for this beautiful arrangement!
To be able to improvise that long with such accuracy is already commendable, but to be able to play with so many subtle details yet still manage to maintain the sentimentality of the song with little to no practice is another level entirely. You are truly godly.
Thinking about the future withou Ghibli beautiful films and adventure makes me fall apart.....their songs are so magical, flawless...! I just wish i could keep dreaming about them in my own imagination. GHIBLI NEVER DIES!!!
Wow, I’m speechless! I watched every studio ghibli movie when I was a little girl and now I started rewatching them, because they were such a big part of my childhood. Those songs touch my heart and I had lots of tears in my eyes. Everything is just beautiful and I enjoyed every second. Thank you for this masterpiece.
The soundtrack, the artwork...a perfect rendering of the wonders of youth, how children see the world and their limitless imagination. The flamboyant colors of the artwork and the innocent playfulness of the soundtracks....all of it is mesmerizing. Studio Ghibli and the composers made a wonderful world as seen/felt by children, while showing daily struggles, but the strong emotions and relationships make it all worthwhile.
@@projecteer4498 talent, either is from efforts or something u r born with. complimenting the latter, in which case u would be born with, sounds dismissive to the former, which i believe is this case. thats why i said that
The castle in the sky was the first animation movie I ever watch in my memories, even before Disney movies, and he’s still my favorite it’s give my goosebumps
This is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. That score is every bit as great as anything John Williams has ever done. I am so proud to be involved in any way to this movie. I do the English voice of King Jihl in the film. It's a small part but it became my introduction to Miyazaki. This music is so soothing and just puts the evils of the world on hold while it plays.
The transition from Princess Mononoke to My Neighbor Totoro was amazing . Beautiful. I could imagine Princess Mononoke and Totoro holding hands right in that transition. Really talented piano player.
This is gorgeous. It filled me with such a sense of nostalgia and joy. I love your arrangements so much- they’re complex without being cluttered, and they always capture the mood of the piece and send me to someplace else... someplace better. Thank you so much.
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. may peace and calmness fill your life
i guess i was a bit too young to grow up with studio ghibli or maybe my parents just never put on any of their shows or movies for me. but anyway i was absolutely mesmerised by this i can’t even believe how beautiful it is, it’s inspired me to go watch everything by them now
This video brings me back of my childhood when I always watched ghibli movies. This makes me realise how I was always a anime addict, even when younger. lol
aye first 1k views squad...... DAMNNNN STUDIO GHIBLI MEDLEY FINALLY!!!!!! Animenz posting lots of medleys lately lol YESSSS CANT WAIT TO SEE U IN TORONTO, SIGN MY FOREHEAD PLEASE SENPAI
Hisaishi seems to use a similar group of notes for a lot of songs. I’m not complaining at all I love it! You can hear the same chord structure at the beginning of the mix and then towards the end of mononoke and beginning of totoro. You’ll find it somewhere in each of the songs played here
I haven’t seen a pianist this insanely talented in a long time. The player handles technique perfectly yet still doesn’t overdo anything. I also couldn’t ignore how nicely it’s arranged (every song flows effortlessly to another, there is much variety and dynamics in each song etc.) I want to thank you, this is truly touching and inspirational in its ethereal beauty. No words can describe how mesmerizing this is!
five hours straight of sitting down and listening to various lecturers lecture me on the topic.let's just say i was drained, exhausted and utterly felt defeated... Then came ANIMENZ! Made me feel like the girl who fell from the sky, a princess even. He must be a wizard, a neighbour maybe, both, because he lifted my spirits up in my secret little world. he came calling, charging even and cradled me from the soles of my feet from the melodious wind of his piano
Dude you deserve every like, sub, and every single compliment in this entire universe, if anyone says otherwise, ignore them! Your a genius, your works are masterpieces!
thank u so much for making me feel happier, i feel like life is so hard sometimes and the only things i see are stress and negativity but your talent got me crying like a baby in the middle of the night because i feel grateful
Already commented, but I need to say that that Spirited Away section was so brilliantly executed. Putting those two songs together such that they complimented each other and flowed so smoothly into each next phase. Goddamn. It's really hard to believe this is all improvised, it's too good.
I didn't know who Joe Hisaishi is nor Studio Ghibli but after listening to some of the pieces. So now when I see their names, I would click to listen more. I love the clear, simple notes...your second paragraph explains it. Thank you for your music.
Great, only three notes in, and I felt ready to cry. This hit my nostalgia in all the right places. And I am having such a hard time believing this was improvised.
I love this one so much💕 It truly makes me happy especially on rainy days😌For some reason it’s comforting to me during these times of us being quarantine. Thank you ☺️
Essa música me faz transcender às coisas mais lindas e perfeitas que pode existir na natureza. A harmonia, a beleza, o encadeamento é realmente algo que eleva nossa alma!
I haven't seen a Merry Go Round of Life (Howl's moving castle) arrangement from Animenz so when I saw this medley I was overjoyed, then I realized that I had already seen the video because I had liked the video already and then when I went through what Ghibli songs where played I was heartbroken... We need a Merry Go Round of Life arrangement from Animenz... Like this so Animenz has a chance to see this
Thank you for doing "the wind rises" it's my favorite movie soundtrack and it's often forgotten. You played it so beautifully it brought tears to my eyes ❤
i used to play these songs to my class but thats a long time ago, when i play them now to my class there is a special place for those pieces in my heart.
On by back porch, it's dusk with a balmy breeze. The scent of orange blossoms drifting through the air. White petals scattered around... Birds are singing. Perfect evening with this music.
I’m quite stunned with the medley and was really hyped seeing studio gibley, which was essentially my childhood. Although I wanted to hear Merry go round of Life (Howl’s Moving Castle), this simply made my Tuesday amazing! Great work as always and I look forward to seeing more!
Hearing you playing on the piano makes me think of the ocean. It's nostalgic. I remeber a 3 years ago it was more technical playing from you. But with how you play now, I think that you really hit the surface. It's not you just playing the piano. I think I get you. I believe your feelings reached my heart. Thanks for that amazing medley :)
Thank you for making this! I'm going through a time of mourning and healing and this really helped me feel ok and happy. It brought a tear to my eye and inspired me to learn piano. Thank you!
Day 2: Rewatching Demons Slayer so that I can get back to the vibe to it before I start on season 2. It refreshes memory pretty good. How was your day? Good Morning, Christina! 🦄
