Why did the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) become a nomad for the last decade of his career, moving to another place with every change of season? Because he always needed to be in the right location, and under the right weather, for his thinking and writing. This video shows his favourite places (Sorrento, the Engadine, Venice, Genoa, Rapallo, Nice, Turin), back then and in the late 1990s, and lets passages from his letters and notebooks explain why they were so important to him.
