C4News have unearthed a letter from Ukip leader Nigel Farage's schooldays that reveals a concern that the 17-year-old Farage wasn't prefect material because of his 'fascism' and 'racism'. Mr Farage denies the allegations. .
I spoke to Michael Crick before he made the documentary. I was one year above Farage and told Mr Crick I would be glad to appear on a programme to recount an incident in which Farage had bullied a younger Jewish kid - although I pointed out that Mr Farage was only 12 or 13 at the time. I also qualified my comments by pointing out that there were 2 other bullies in that incident and one of them was the only black kid (as far as I remember) in Farage's year and that Farage had been good friends with him throughout his time at the school. Given the racism or prejudice the lad in question must have suffered at an almost-all-white school as Dulwich then was, the "incident" didn't exactly make Mr Farage an out and out bigot. I was an anti-Nazi League activist and despised Farage for many reasons. This is a longer reply than I intended - but the main point is that I would have appeared on camera - so long as I could put my memories into a fair context. Perhaps it's that which wouldn't have suited the feature as broadcast!

simon7342 anti-semetic? he was the most pro-Israel of all the major party leaders in Britain and has made very harsh statements on multiple occasions about anti-semitism in the Labour Party. My partner knows someone who went to school with him. Apparently he used to goose step in front of Jewish kids, and whisper antisemitic things in their ears.
Nigel Farage was a defiant teenager. When boys and girls are at that age they simply want to show that they have the right to say what they want. We all have said things that people can use (especially out of context) to question our integrity. We should give other people the benefit of the doubt.
All just hearsay to be honest, if i hated someone in 2022 i could message a few old school mates to make out they was such a naughty boy during school like so what? sounds like BS to be honest like a British school kid running through towns singing Hitler youth songs? then talking about gassing people to students? seems so random and far fetched.
They're getting desperate, to bring this out now. I thought Powel at that time was dreadful. He was not against the West Indians coming here, it was he that arranged it but then saw that it would be dangerous if they did not integrate. It was not the Wind rush generation that did not integrate, they made a great contribution to the country, it's the Islamists ( Not Muslims )that are a danger to the country. Powel just got the wrong timing and the wrong culture.
