@@futurepowerenergy8830 Black people all over the Pan-African Diaspora seem to be attracted to the glitz and glamor of wealth and opulence. I can understand why. We are constantly under assault by other races, desperately trying to convince us that we don't matter. It's exhausting. It takes a toll. In order to fight back, you might be tempted to put on a show. Try to prove your worth by surrounding yourself with external trappings of wealth. That's not going to stop until we realize that our true value is in who we are ---- not what we wear, not what we drive, not where we live. I live in Los Angeles. Trust me, every other race in this town is playing the same ridiculous game. In fact, Hollywood invented the game. I was mistaken for Nigerian a few times before I showed my US citizenship. Africans face soo much discrimination. And, like these women stated, sometimes worse from other Africans. I remember having a conversation with a Saudi in my hotel lobby and he went on and on about how low Indians, Philippinos Africans and also UAE citizens are. At the end of our conversation I told him to remember that I'm a Black American when he speaks I'll of me to the next person. I beg Africans to see the value in your countries. Develop it.

@@CharlieDmusMarch 7, 1965 The American Dream and the American Negro By JAMES BALDWIN Ifind myself, not for the first time, in the position of a kind of Jeremiah. It would seem to me that the question before the house is a proposition horribly loaded, that one's response to that question depends on where you find yourself in the world, what your sense of reality is. That is, it depends on assumptions we hold so deeply as to be scarcely aware of them. On the other hand, I have to speak as one of the people who have been most attacked by the Western system of reality. It comes from Europe. That is how it got to America. It raises the question of whether or not civilizations can be considered equal, or whether one civilization has a right to subjugate--in fact, to destroy--another. Now, leaving aside all the physical factors one can quote--leaving aside the rape or murder, leaving aside the bloody catalogue of oppression which we are too familiar with any way--what the system does to the subjugated is to destroy his sense of reality. It destroys his father's authority over him. His father can no longer tell him anything because his past has disappeared. In the case of the American Negro, from the moment you are born every stick and stone, every face, is white. Since you have not yet seen a mirror, you suppose you are, too. It comes as a great shock around the age of 5, 6, or 7 to discover that the flag to which you have pledged allegiance, along with everybody else, has not pledged allegiance to you. It comes as a great shock to see Gary Cooper killing off the Indians, and although you are rooting for Gary Cooper, that the "Indians "are you. When I was brought up I was taught in American history books that Africa had no history and that neither had I. I was a savage about whom the least said the better, who had been saved by Europe and who had been brought to America. Of course, I believed it. I didn't have much choice. These were the only books there were. Everyone else seemed to agree. If you went out of Harlem the whole world agreed. What you saw was much bigger, whiter, cleaner, safer. The garbage was collected, the children were happy. You would go back home and it would seem, of course, that this was an act of God. You belonged where white people put you.

We are not the same. My ancestors fought to the death to protect our land. There’s no record of 1 battle ur ancestors fought against ur masters. There were very few slave rebellions but it was very brief and minor so miss us with the BS. This podcast was very illuminating and transparent to let others what IS going on globally and how Black women are viewed and treated by non-black and black people themselves. All humans come out from Black, let's not digress. This podcast coupled with your idea AuntieCheri, would be phenomenal because it will show the problem and the solutions to help the women who are trapped in Dubai, and other nations like it, after the systems of greed, deviancy, and human trafficking unveil to consume the women. Many men see women as prostitutes, with or without a man present, so there's that part. And many European women are somehow seen as more acceptable and not denigrated in the MEA + Asia, even though their whole lifestyle is to be an escort, lady-for-hire, nightwalker, prostitute, etc. It's mysteriously overlooked when "preferences" are SEEN, which are skin/ hair/ eye color, body type, and facial features. With the "correct" boxes checked and on display, in accordance to the "cultural social standards", a woman who provides whore-services to whorers (those who seek the service), is simply seen as a woman-hole that is ACCEPTABLE. I'm glad these two young women, @essynatukunda and @Ndagire , bravely shared their experiences because this will help inform other women to be proactive, get educated, and have several plans of escape for safety. And most importantly, I'm glad @essynatukunda and @Ndagire are safe and alive. And yes Ndagire, that bm from America is damned to hell. I'm sorry his existence crossed paths with you, please know that it was his self-hatred that tried to dim your light. Please find spaces/ opportunities to speak more about it, this will help you. And it was not your fault, whatever his degenerate ass did or tried to. Thank you Ladies.

Man cannot live on bread alone. I know the Bible verse is referring to things of the spirit. But even in real life it's true. Uganda is undergoing massive social change. And it started with the population explosion leading to land fragmentation. Men can't sustain families on half an acre. Men who can't support their families are always problematic. Probe to alcoholism, domestic violence and abandonment. Hensmce the growth in single motherhood. Food is plentiful in ug, but without land it costs money. Farmers prefer to export for better prices so prices keep rising. But even if they can get food, they still need school fees, school uniforms, rent etc. Most importantly, they want to break the cycle of poverty in their families. If they do nothing it will be even worse by the time their kids grow up. They hope their kids will have more than they do. The thing I hear most is that they want to raise money to buy property coz the source of all wealth in ug is land. This is a landless generation. Everything is a struggle. My thoughts.

@@billjames1216 I agree we need better education, but bringing children into the world is our purpose. I know that's not a popular view, but when we were in famine, people had children, when we were at war, people had children, in exile, children, colonised, children, enslaved, children. Struggle is part of the human condition. Our children give us purpose and fire to overcome. We struggle with them and in poverty they care for us. There are countries today with all the wealth in the world who wish they had more children. Their economies and societies are on the verge of collapse because of failing demographics. Our children are our future. Wealth cannot be a condition for having children. It's the children born in the great depression that rebuilt the USA and the west. It's the children of slaves that faught for emancipation. Children born in apartheid South Africa that grew up to face police guns and brought freedom. If our ancestors had said they couldn't have children because we were colonised, enslaved, poor etc most of us wouldn't be here. Colonizers would own Africa entirely like they do America and australia. The world is cruel, but it has always been cruel. It is our world, we have to live in it. We have to fight in it and our children have to live in it with us. Their experiences are the fire that will bring change for their children. The privileges are always the few, but the only thing that brings, hope, change and balance is the oppressed and the poor having children. The worst thing we can do in our condition is stop having children. We just need to get better at supporting and protecting our women and families. And yes, educate them better. The countries that suffer less in these Arab countries are those with better education and better economies.

@@billjames1216you don't need education to provide for your family. You just need logic, how do you suppose our fore fathers managed to bring up families? Having an education just makes you educated and not necessarily intelligent. Don't get it twisted!

@@factsnotfeelings3247 African men cannot protect themselves so why would an African woman be submissive to an African man? African women need to be protected because when a woman has security and opportunity, she will take care of the WHOLE community unlike men who ONLY protect themselves and will ONLY protect women when they can take something from her that does not belong to him.

The women answered their own question, "men, why don't you protect us, well we don't belong to him". There is your answer, you do not fall under there authority, so what is there incentive. However if it is the embassy, then it is there responsibility, that part in messed up.
