this is incredible...one pot ... girl you got me . this is by far easy way of making it. I like fried rice but some times I can't stand the steps of cooking Rice first, then fry vegetables and fry meats and then start combining. thank you for sharing. I agree you explain things so well that even a novice can follow you.

Thank you for sharing your recipe. Where I live in Scotland we have a lot of folk from the Nigerian diaspora but they don't sing and dance about their culture which I think is a shame because Nigerian food is delicious. This recipe is new to me and I really want to cook it and more importantly eat it.

Very nice. Lots of flavours in there I bet it was tasty. The only thing I would do different is add the prawns after the first 15 mins. Raw prawns do not need more than 10 mins to cook. We as Nigerians over cook a lot of stuff especially seafood. Keep them coming. :) thanks for the video.

Jimi Ayeni lol it's true we tend to do that lol. Because I added it at the same time with the rice it really does not overcook 😊

Hi Ivonne - very happy to see your 4th video appear this year. I have made all of your recipes and the timing and the way you explain is so easy to follow - this weekend I tried the dodo gizzard for the 2nd time and Jellof Rice for the first time and it came out impeccable! I was asked if I bought the dishes rather than cooked them myself, so a huge success. Please keep posting new recipes this year as I will keep trying them!

Another great recipe. I think the type of rice used in cooking also determines the cooking time. From what I know basmati rice is not commonly used in Nigeria for daily cooking. Maybe it is used for parties. I hope this could be a tip to other viewers, I use pressure cooker to reduce the cooking time, the process is the same just that after adding the rice I mix well and cover the pressure pot, I leave it until I hear four whistles then remove from fire to let it rest, allowing it to cook through steam and Voila! It's ready to serve... Thanks again Ivonne

This dish is clearly the PARENT of Carolina Low Country Chicken Bog. Created by the Africans enslaved in the Carolinas. The Black American community in the USA does a multitude of variations of this dish from very simple to complex. I learned to cook a variation of this from my Mom. It was a very simple recipe with minimal ingredients. This one pot meat and rice dish is excellent on a budget and can be made in many ways. I will definitely learn this version and cook it. Thank you for sharing!

Have always preferred this to jollof rice but never known how to make it, thanks to you I now have the confidence to try. Can I just use bell peppers and seasoning because I can't eat chilli peppers or scotch bonnet, nothing hot like them? Making it in one pot is so useful, you explain how to do it so easily and it looks fantastic when you've finished. Liked you jollof rice recipe again but can I make it without the scotch bonnet. Garlic and ginger not a problem. Many thanks, and keep up cooking. You are a natural and explain things so well anyone can follow.
