Come one, just about every character in this show was performed perfectly, including the recurring defendants such as Brent Spinners character Bob Wheeler.
I love the way the camera holds on the apartment door for a second before cutting to what legitimately might be one of the funniest visual gags I've ever seen.
I love how when we first see Dan, he's sliding to a stop, suggesting he was running through the halls of the court house, desperately trying to find his boss. LOL
@@leslinz4482 you mean the doctor who told his client, the rock star 👨🎤, that he couldn't go to his high-school reunion or his father's funeral 😠😡🤔? If so, as I've seen on Laff TV, all that creep cared about was his client's money 🤨😒🤔.
John played the role of asskissing, self-serving, get ahead no matter what, lawyer weasel, sexual deviant, perfectly. Don't think they could have casted anyone better for the role. Plus I always found it funny that he was a public prosecutor wearing $1500 suits working in a night court trying to put away low level criminals. LOL
3:09 In a nice inside joke, the man with the dark moustache in the center of frame is Jerry Marin... in the Wizard of Oz (1939) he played the Lollipop Guild member who handed Judy Garland the giant lollipop.
And this why the rebooted version, especially with John Laraquette playing the public defender’s roll doesn’t work. As most reboots usually have never succeeded.
My God, EVERY episode with Daniel Frishman and John Larroquette are so brilliantly written, directed, acted and edited that it's nearly impossible to top on a comedic level! These were the best moments I remember ever looking forward to even when watching reruns. How could you ever tire of Night Court?!?!!!
It would be nice if Frishman returns as Dan’s boss in the sequel series. Would love to see that, except he retired from acting in the late 80s. Hope someone contacts him and asked him if he can get out of retirement so he can return for the NC sequel series.
@@rosalindshays5679 No, Frischman’s last appearance is the episode of Designing Women in 1989 and hasn’t appeared ever since and the guy who played that cowboy on Happy Gilmore is played by an entirely different actor named Philip Beer.
@@rayvega3163 I remember watching Happy Gilmore in the theater back when it came out, thinking it was Frischman in the role and being under that impression ever since. Thanks for clearing this up!
1:24 - Funny bit on fashion here. Dan's outfit looks classic and would still look good by today's standards. Christine's outfit makes her look like she's going to an 80's party.
Harry Anderson may have been the star of Night Court, but if you ask me, JOHN LARROQUETTEE is Night Court the secne stealer. No wonder he won two Emmys for that role he deserved it.
The guy playing Dan's boss was in an early episode of Married With Children. Steve had a road rage incident and the guy tracked him to the Bundy house. Al advised Steve to yank the door open and punch him in the belly. Of course Steve didn't know he was little, so when he threw the punch, it tagged the guy in the head. KO'd him. They brought him inside and put him on the couch. When he came to, he was upset about Steve's vicious nature. It was pretty funny thirty years ago. I think it would be funny today.
I knew that name sounds familiar. Dan Frischman is the actor who played Arvid in Head of the Class. Seems to me that it's unlikely contemporaneous actors would use the same name.
I had to do a little research on the subject, and found that indeed, they have very similar names. Dan is the geeky actor from Head of the Class. Daniel is the little person actor (Ewok). Both are Frischman. Interesting coincidental names. They don't appear to be directly related.
you know what was funny is that one of the producers was Linwood boomer, who played as the blind Adam Kendall on little house on the prairie, & then also created Malcolm in the Middle
janet ruggles I loved this show, try watching mac's dilemma intro..... The timing and delivery is hilarious doesn't matter how many times I watch it😂😂😂😂
“Can’t that man take no for an answer?” Christine regarding Dan trying to get invited to Vincent’s Halloween party “That was a rhetorical question.” Christine after the woman slaps Dan for making an indecent proposal to her
What really works is even though Vincent dispises Dan as a person, he still respects his work and even tells him so. This goes all the way back to Vincent's 1st appearance on night court.
@@robertpreston2220 "Boring"! That's the best adjective for Night Court '23! Last night's episode was probably the worst so far! Even special guest Wendy Malick (Just Shoot Me, Hot In Cleveland) couldn't save it- and 99% of the time she is reliable ! I really wanted to like the new show too. I loved Melissa Rauch in Big Bang but here she's out of her element. Dan has made too "nice"! And those new characters just get in the way!
@@l.salisbury1253 I was hoping for good things as well. But my god I have not laughed once yet in 4 episodes. And what they have done to Dan is unforgivable!!!!
Oh how i miss the 80s when comedy was just comedy and u could get away with this style of humor without offending people looking for something to be offended about!
Then you haven’t seen the RU-vid performance of Catfishing The Klan. It’s got to be one of the funniest thing on the Internet. That and, Are We The Baddies.
first little person who wasn’t a joke to others that i saw, he joked about being small but the context was what was funny not his height. and when it was a joke it was done as mean spirited and backfired on the person
I own the series on digital and was watching this particular episode on my phone while I was on a flight. I was struggling so hard to stifle my laughter when that moment came up, so as not to wake up the people around me.
@Night Court fan: I am looking for the Night Court clip where they bring an old lady into the courtroom, Mack tells Harry that she was arrested for stealing cat food & it goes something like this: Harry: Did you steal the cat food to feed your cat? Lady: No. Harry: Why'd you steal the cat food? Lady: To eat it. Harry: Why didn't you just steal real food? Lady: Because that'd be more... Harry: Pathetic?! Lady: Yea! Harry: Yep, get her outta here! Let me know if you can help me out. Thanks!
Kind of progressive how the party guests were dressed formally.l imagine when your a little person your expected to wear a costume the other 364 days a year
Always loved this show. Can’t wait for the sequel which is on the works. RIP Harry Anderson (April2018), Charles Robinson (July 2021) & Marke Post (Aug 2021)
