Very excited to see this debut in NA and see how it is received by car enthusiasts. I think Hyundai nailed this DCT on the head with enthusiasts as it makes it convenient and fun while adding some more options in there to make the car pop out a little bit more. Hyundai has been making some great decisions lately and I'm excited now more than ever to see what the N division has to come for the future.

Man oh man... The current global crisis better not deter Hyundai from continuing this approach to performance car production. I’ve kept up with hot hatches for 25 years and this car is one of the real standouts. I really hope the US not only gets the DCT version, but the additional colors as well. It’s a shame Hyundai still can’t get the dealership experience to improve though.

Those aggressive upshifts are amazing... The acceleration became significantly better conpared to the manual, i also feel like the car can handle the torque better than in manual :) Seeing the interior at night, they could have added an LED ambient light as well, almost every other contender has it already... Also, i have to disagree with you when it comes to sound system quality - Yes it is Ok and it does its job (i have the same in my i30 fastback N) but thats it, they missed out adding a sound system from Krell (like in the Tucson or KONA) or the recently added bose sound system (new i20 for example), which has a much better sound overall. Thanks for the review, looking forward to the next hyundai video ;)

Love this hot hatch! I love my Fiesta ST, but the brakes and interior are way nicer on the N even tho I have recaro seats.

Man, that exhaust note sounds so good. Too bad I'm not looking for a new car, but if I did, this would definitely be one of my top choice.

God that color is gorgeous. I think I’m going to pull the trigger on buying one. I test drove the DCT and think I will get it so I can relax while driving longer distances. I’ve got an STI for a project car and after a long drive it can kind of beat on you.

I love it too, and wanted to track it! Also, I actually took home the 2021 VELOSTER automatic DCT before deciding on the 2021 SONATA N LINE due to space needed to accommodate car seats for my 2 youngest grandchildren.

2022 in October am definitely late to the game but I can only find two new velosters here in Miami Florida. One in red the other is baby blue, am choosing the baby blue. This car is being discontinued so its going to be nearly impossible to buy new. This coming Saturday am going to the dealer to test drive it and hopefully buy the car. wish me luck thanks for the great review.

That automatic should help sell more N’s! Not everybody wants to shift. I drove manual shift transmissions for many years but these new wet clutch DCT’s are awesome!!!

I’d love to see it in orange, yellow, or purple. I think for me it would be a really hard choice between the Performance Blue or Red. I have a 2016 Rally with the Matte blue. I love how it looks but matte paint kinda sucks to deal with.

Hi I'm a subscriber to your channel for a while and had a question about the safety tech for the 2021 model. In Korea do they have the safety tech for all transmissions on the 2021 Veloster N (such as forward collision detection), or is it only on the DCT and not the manual transmission? We're getting the Veloster N later this October here in the US and was wondering about that tech.

So Hyundai says it only makes the pops when you press the accelerator pedal 90% or more and then let off. Does it also make it if you drive in manual mode and let off the gas above a certain RPM? Or only if you press accelerator past 90%. Curious because I love how the manual pops all the time but automatic seems to not want to do this unless you're really stepping on the accelerator.

Is it the new Hyundai-Kia to have Wet type Dual-Clutch? Or do they have 7-speed Wet type Dual-Clutch at cars like Proceed?

I know the Veloster N is built to a price point & I am glad that the money was spent on the engine & drive train, but like to see all LED lights & they need to add some fog lights. Love the new seats. Split on whether I want a manual or get the DCT. Waiting on the 2021 to get to the States.

DCT is nice, but still manual for me, plus newly added performance goodies-bucket seat, brake, etc

I'm hoping the new facelift i30N will come with this DCT option in the UK. Maybe it will be released next year? Fingers crossed.

If you love the sound of the exhaust, I heard on another youtuber's video, that the exhausts on the DCTs are quieter than the exhaust on the manual due to another manufacturer making those.

veloster n is my dream car but the 2020 model cost almost 60 thousand $ in norway and never seen a used one for sale

I would love to have this colour in the fast back with this transmission plus AWD plus the twin turbo out of the stinger,Now that would be a hot hatch.I can only dream..sigh.

NGS is no overboost. Overboost is gone with facelift i30N Release. The power is now flat and u have the overboost torque of pre facelift all the time now. NGS just immediatly sets the car in its most aggressive and responsive setting possible. If u are already in sport+ NGS wont take any effect besides of a possible downshift for better torque. Thats at least how it is for i30N DCT. Dunno if Veloster has less power like the pre facelift i30N

Dear Hyundai Veloster N Division, I hope you are reading this. Here are some Cons I would like to address. 1.) There’s an excessive glare on front windshield. 2.) Cabin noise from road. 3.) Please add heated seats and heated steering wheel. 4.) If heated seats can be added, why not add ventilated seats, global warming is increasing the temperature and it’s very hot/humid during summer. 5.) Plastic interior feels and look cheap for a $34K car. I hope the 2022 model addresses these Cons, if not I will go for Mazda 3 Turbo hatchback instead.

Is the ride too firm on this? I think this would be my car if it ever comes down in price used. Wish they had this in the Elantra GT-N spec here in the US. The Us doesn't like wagons or hatchbacks so I have to drive a 2010 Volvo V50 which is plenty fun. But this looks maybe even better. Ya- wish I had this in high school. Or even now! Wish we had the Genesis wagon here. Such a great exhaust sound!!!!!

Are you saying that in N manual mode the DCT won't upshift until you pull the paddle, so it will bounce off the rev limiter? I don't think so. I don't even think the PDK in Porsches will do that.

I like that Hyundai are still producing manual transmissions at a time when they are being phased out. I am skeptical of the thin tires combined with stiff suspension. Sidewall height should be 45 at bare minimum, otherwise impact is not adequately absorbed by the tire which ends up bending the rim and causing balancing issues, especially at high speed. This was a recurring issue in my Touring until I changed to a wider tire.

Really nice car. But its 6 spd manual for me since I just be daily driving it mostly to work and home and attend local autoX events few times a year.

The 2021 N from all that I've been reading no longer are selling the 250hp model.

Excellent car and sound, maybe the interior quality doesn't match the price compared with other Hyundai models (my Ioniq has better quality), but it happens the same with I30N, KIA and Hyundai needs a little bit of improvement, but that DCT is really quick and seems efficient I don't get it why Hyundai doesn't put interior lights in the door for some buttons (like mirror adjustment or to close them)

hand e-brake is a good thing. It is so sad that these days a lot of sports cars have a foot or electronic e-brake.
