You know, come to think of it, I hadn't realized ... you're right but I'm guessing the reason why they teamed their daughter with the killers is so that per the rule "mafia can't kill mafia". She was safe from ever dieing unless she got figured out, or she'd have probably died over and over again like the rest of them. This way, per the ending, we learned this was the first time she died. Which even shocked the parents. 😮

The best friend didn’t even think to bring that up since not even they were safe from the punishment. Though the fact they were able to just kidnap the students is a whole other thing.

Parents do that in real life all the time. They force their kids to continue going to the school where they are bullied. Or they talk to the principal and expect that solves it or tell their kids to toughen up or ignore the bullies. Know if your kid comes to you about being bullied you do whatever it takes to get them out of that school and that environment. They have homeschooling that's free now. It's like video learning like they had during covid but it's through public schools. If you actually loved your kid you would do whatever it took to get them out of that environment. I blame the parents when they refuse to pull their kid out and force them to continue to go into an environment where they are bullied
