I'm lucky to be alive after an evil viscious killer seal stalked me during a trip to Hurst! Well, ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but it put the heebie jeebies up me!
Remember sat down Tuckton catching roach and a seal pop its head up ,just looked at me for about 30 seconds and i'm sure it rolled its eyes to heaven and swam off.
Collective terms for seals. Common ones are pod or herd. There is also a harem or a bob. A Bob of seals sounds right. In the 60's I use to fish Hurst Castle with my brother near the point. There use to be half of an upturned boat there. All we caught were flounders. It's so different at Hurst now, especially right of the old stubby pier. It was known the hole.
Always enjoy your content Tom. Without wishing to be a doom monger, seal numbers in the Solent are increasing so something we need to get used to. I regularly get hissed at by a big dog otter when I’m night fishing for mullet in Christchurch harbour. He’s all talk (or hiss) though. He soon hisses off if you stare him down.
Loved the thumbnail and a great video as always. Id be interested in the loop rig video, especially with any difference in length you have between the snoods. As i see fhenidd videomwith 3 foot bottom snoods, 18 inch top snoods and I'm convinced they'll tangle.
Cheers Tom, that seal was definitely not happy with you and cute and all as they are they have been known to attack humans, hope you made it back intact mate 😁 you take care mate 👍🎣🎣
Or is it a negative that seals are moving to areas where they have not been frequent before ! Also today there are reports off tuna chasing garfish in entrance off Poole harbour! We knew they were down Falmouth way ! Exciting times may be ahead
Absolutely. We had a few tuna sightings last year, but this year we've had regular sightings all the way along to Hengistbury over the last month. Very exciting indeed!
That was a navy seal, you can tell by the fact he’s in the water. He could kill you with a strand of that horrible red weed. They train with the SAS, only the SAS are better!!. So, not only have I assumed ‘his’ gender, I’ve also upset your American viewers 😂 I didn’t expect to see a hound come out of there though.
@@christchurchanglingcentre5428I sometimes go bassing next to the castle. There’s some decent fish there, if like you say, they can be bothered to walk that far. There’s even a ferry if they don’t fancy walking, as long as they remember to get the last one back.
