I am a Conductor actually. I work for CN Rail in Canada. I make about $120,000+ Canadian. I’m on call 24/7 and it’s actually a pretty fun job. Not sleeping hella sucks though. Sometimes I work in the yards building trains, sorting cars and sometimes I take long haul trains for like 12 hours straight just sitting. It’s pretty deadly though.. you’re literally the softest thing around you and it can be sketchy. There’s no bed for us in the train though 😂 we sleep in company owned “bunk houses” and hotels for the most part when we’re away from home.
Damn both my grandparents were conductors for what is now Union Pacific, they just had a local run and where home almost every night. They were on call 24/7 like you though
As someone that was a conductor for CSX, your bed is the chair and you can only hope you have a trainee that can stay awake to let you and the engineer know when your red light turns green lol
Baker, thank I’ve been following you since high school (2017) thank you for keeping this Channel going . You’re awesome and inspired me to get my M1 at a young age . Appreciate all you’ve done for the motto community! Never stop brotha ❤
As for GoPro I heard many RU-vidrs who are having issues with it. Example: corrupt data which results in audio or video loss with the newer GoPro's. Many have switched to a DJI Osmo Action 4. The Insta360 have also gained popularity and has good Action camera's and even a 360 camera. Pretty certain all GoPro's will not have the same issues but I guess, but like I mentioned a lot of people weren't happy with it anymore.
Been a long time since I’ve commented on anything but I’m still around. Glad to see you’re still kicking. I’m picking up a 2007 Triumph Sprint in a month. Can’t wait to finally get out there.
Personally like the go pro hero 11 to the 12. My 12 overheated alllll the time. My 11 hasn’t overheat at all in 6 months. I use them for fpv drone footage.
I'm just getting caught up on your past several vids, Derek. Congrats on the new job, man. They are a good company. My cousin is a sales manager for them in the Carolinas; he's been there for something like 20 years and loves it. As an idea for videos, you might look for alternative routes home when you have more time to make a ride of your commute, especially if you get moved to day shifts or similar. It might be cool to see you ride and explore around Reche Canyon Road further to the east or perhaps some of those nearby areas. You always find cool stuff. Welcome to the daily grind, brotha. You get used to it in no time and you reap the rewards in more ways than one.
Ehh bro..this bikes got that clean as acceleration. Its so odd to me never seeing Cab over trucks im so use to always seeing them in my country. Lol the pallet accident ive done that on a forklift but it was medical waste like stuff you dont want to lose😂. Right infront of the owner of the company to, Luckily hes a kiwi and he just laughed and told me to get it cleaned up, Have a blessed week ahead.
(This is only applicable to Norfolk southern in 2022 it may have changed by now) When I was interview to be a conductor they pay was going to start at around 65k a year. They say it can go up to 100-120k. But it’s 24/7 on call with 10hr shifts and a guaranteed 10hrs off. But basically at the 10hr mark you stop the train a van pulls up with a replacement conductor and engineer, then you and your engineer get in the van and the van takes you to the nearest hotel/motel to have your 10hrs off.
that rail line you pass is where i used to work. it was for cars. those are all auto transport trains. they all start off in the yard doing shit work before they go on to being in charge of it. it's hard outdoor work on those trains.
You should also get memory foam socks..I bought those when I was working at Home Depot years ago and they made a huge difference but they make your feet smell worse
I used to watch baker all the time! Been working 7 days a week the last 5 years so I fell off. But what’s he do for work now? I’m curious and I feel bad that I’ve missed so much.
A lot of warehouses are like that. They'll come in and see how you are working out and make sure you are doing everything by their book. I never had someone follow me around though.
1:38 AM when i see this haha but going to bed now watching tomorrow I had some extra hours at work yesterday, was a long & hard (that's what she said) day XD From 9am till 8pm
Hey baker. have you checked out the DJI - Osmo Action 4 adventure combo? I got it and it fucken rocks! Combine that with the DJI audio adapter and a lavalier mic.. and you are golden! Alot of motovloggers have switched. Great camera!
I have the Hero11 and Hero12 and they are way better. The Hero8 batteries are different than the 9-12. If you upgrade you can use your Hero8 as a different video angle.
GET A NEW GOPRO, BRO! Your videos would be so much better in 4K at 60FPS. There's nothing like high-quality video to stimulate the mind. 🤘 Seriously, I hope that you upgrade, I always watch your videos, and they'd be way better in 4K. 🤘👹🤙🇨🇦❤️
Haha the one time I take a look, seeing a name like this down here is crazy I never look but I would assume this type of dedication means you here a lot and to think the amount of time you both been on this, again crazy To see the loyalty like that in person also crazy Keep on puttin on🫡
