Except that’s literally what they’re called by the government and they’ve been called that forever. It’s because you are entitled to the money. Programs that the government must pay for by law or entitlement programs including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Other spending is non-entitlement and it’s called discretionary spending. This is not new. And you’re right. You paid for it. And you’re entitled to get your money. That’s why it’s called an entitlement

Not necessarily. Most teen workers are pulling in less than $13,850/yr, which is how much they can deduct from their income, and minors don't pay FICA tax.

It doesn't work like that. The payments you made went to fund the social security payments others were receiving at that time. Likewise when you retire your social security will come from those in the workforce today. Your money isn't sitting in a special account waiting for you to draw it and even if it was given inflation over the years it probably amount to a great deal.

Agree 👍. Worked for 40 years. Will be 68 next week. My money 💵 that was taken out of my paycheck. Thank goodness I was smart enough to be in the union and have a pension. Get medical and dental benefits. Invested my money. Never got married. One of the best decisions ever made and second best decision no kids. Retired at 58. Isn't that great. No debt. But the Golden years are not all it's cracked up to be. Our senior discounts are fading away. 😢😢😢

Seeing those children in Gaza absolutely kills me. I am the mother of a special needs child. God that breaks me.😢 I'm praying that that little boy is going to get the food he said desperately needs. Praying for the mom to continuously be strong good. I'm praying that she gets support during this horrible time. Man, human we are the most cruel thing in the world. We are also the most destructive.
