Yeah, I'm Khufu, the bogeyman and Zombo. Plus the pirate. Eric plays Ahura Mazda, the scarecrow and the ghoul. Yannick is the werewolf, Isabelle is Hellin and my sister the banshee. But I am not a professionnal, I am amateur. I just improved through the years.
Brilliantly made I must add. You do a perfect job and not only keeping with the flow of the series, but also the gradual decline of the character as well. Very well played, even if it was only for fun, it was very well done as well.
joeleffler even though hellin has her own counter and keys on the normal atmosfear they should of carried on with the atmosfear series when they got to hellin then stop it
In fact, there were 5 actors: me, 2 male friends, another girl friend for Hellin and my sister for the banshee. If she looks like any of the other hosts, that's why! Now you know the banshee's my sister, try to find who I am! Should be easy, we're almost twins.
So, all my games are add-ons, with a new video on DVD and new cards I created. After making all the games I wanted, I discoverd a software that enables you to make interactive DVDs. Then I could "release" 2 interactive DVD board games, both with unique board, pieces, cards and all. "Ahura Mazda the Djinn" (I had made it first as an add-on to the original VHS game) and "The cursed Island", starring Captain Van Der Straeten. Randomly generated stuff for each, so.
i liked the idea that toy cubes (the hallin letters in that cubes) can be actually a interesting idea for dices, at least in concept, maybe, forming a word instead of keys, or for effect of cards
WOW, GOOD JOB on Hellin and Pamper me is a good thing for Hellin to say and I liked how you kept it original with the oldest player being called out and made something new by adding those numbers and if the total was even you got a key yeah thats good thats Nightmare as I know it!
The Nightmare, or Atmosfear games, released with a VHS are : The Gatekeeper, Baron Samedi the Zombie, Anne de Chantraine the Witch, then Elizabeth Bathory the Vampire. The fifth game was supposed to be out too, but never made it (the Mummy - that's why I made my own). Because of the VHS, the appearances, of course, were linear. The Gatekeeper on DVD was out in 2003 (2005 in France). Thanks to the DVD, the appearances are randomly generated. I made my first sequel, the Bogeyman, in 2002.
Amazing job, these are by far the BEST fan expansions I ever seen. Is there any link to the complete videos and cards? Im interested in doing a translation and dubbing into Spanish
I really like this! This is what the real one could of been like. I was gutted tht they didn't bring out anymore. The official new one's dont change through the dvd, they arn't the same, i loved the atmosphere they created with the original one's tht u have done here. Brilliant. I always imagined recording these and being in them myself! :-p Loved them when i was a teenager, i had them for my birthdays etc. Have fun! I want to buy yours now. Bring them back!!! lol
Wow! I have always been a huge Atmosfear fan, and Hellin has always been my favourite Harbinger! You've really done a fabulous job of portraying her! I only wish I could speak French (I am from the UK). I cant wait to see more of your work. Keep it coming!
truly amazing work. I do wish the Atmosfear games had maintained the horror element of their earliest iterations. This beautifully captures the essence of the first games, and of Hellin as a character. I love the notion of her being a clockwork toy on the verge of running down. Stunning stuff. 5*
Hi, these sequels of yours are great!! I'm sure you've been asked this before, but have you had any issues with regards to the copyright and all that business?
Yes, Atmosfear "the Harbingers" (les émissaires)and "the soul rangers" (les chasseurs d'âme). I have them all. But these are Atmosfear games, not Nightmare games.
I've always said my Hellin was kinda ridiculous. But look at her portrait in the game "the harbingers". She's actually a doll. By the way, NO, I absolutely don't play them all. Here, it's an actress for instance. A real female one.
These videos gain in quality when considered none of you went to acting course or makeup lessons. The fact they're fan-videos, but they're so nicely done, makes them shine. They arent all the same quality, but they're all nice. (By the way. Your silence makes me guess you don't plan to write down the script for Jack O'Lantern, or link to a better version of the video? I hope you're not thinking I'm aiming to steal your videos for God knows what purpose!)
Oh, man. NICE production values. This would be a PERFECT addition to the games....if I understood a word of French. Still, if you ever make a version that has English subtitles/dubbing, PLEASE tell me how to get a hold of it.
That's because she IS a possessed doll. lol, Seriously though it was a good idea to have the character portrayed like this as it solves the problem that poltergeists tend to be invisible. lol
Do you have the whole game video? If you do you should upload it all on here then I can use my original Nightmare board to play the game. It's weird that Hellin didn't get her own official game, as it says she would on the instructions to Nightmare. My favorite one you have is Zombo the clown. I'm currently reading Stephen King's IT and that clown helps me visualize Pennywise.
The chronology of my stuff is : the Bogeyman, Ahura Mazda the Djinn, Hellin the Poltergeist, Zombo the evil Clown, Jack O'Lantern the Scarecrow, Gevauden the Werewolf, Herr Kuno Hoffman the Goul, Khufu the Mummy, the widow Vera Renczi the Banshee. Plus Ahura Mazda on interactive DVD, and "The cursed Island". The 1st interactive DVD hosting the Gatekepeer (I'm talkin' 'bout the real games) was out while I was making the Goul. I made my Mummy in a rush because the real one was about to be out!
So you've done this with your sister and 3 friends? I'm taking a wild guess, are you Khufu? The acting is nice, and the make up is quite wellmade(expecially for the werewolf and the scarecrow): you certainly don't seem amateurs, have you taken some acting classes?
And I've just finished another interactive DVD board game, the best I've ever made, all in CGI, hosted by Snow White's evil mirror. But it is not called Atmosfear, nothing to do with that, and the rules are completely different. Let me tell you all that I am currently and little by little adding subs to those vids on RU-vid. And you are very brave if you read every single word of all of this. And thanks again for your support and comments! Let's keep in touch ;)
Yeah, as I told you, nobody ever went to acting course. Concerning the makeup, I managed to find hints on internet. After some makeups, I could make something good without any instructions. Besides, if there are some rules to follow, you can also try new things, to see if it works. Everything is simply made with latex and paint. If your makeup isn't extremely good, you mustn't forget that there will be lights, shadows and everything, it will always look better than in the sunlight, for example.
What did she call out and how did you answer her (what do you say? ex: Baron Samedi said "Thrill Me" and you have to answer "Yo Baron I can dig it!" What do you answer her?
At last, the chronology of the real games is: the Gatekeeper, Baron Samedi the Zombie, Anne de Chantraine the Witch, Elizabeth Bathory the Vampire, Atmosfear - the Harbingers (not really a sequel, but a spin-off with the return of the Gatekeeper, new board, different rules), the Soul Rangers (add-on to the Harbingers), the Gatekeeper on interactive DVD, and finally Khufu, in a few countries, on DVD too. And this, not mentioning the card game and the PC game.
Well, as I said, you and your friends and your sister all display some nice acting skills. You really didn't go to an acting course? If so, I'm pleasantly amazed! And how did you manage to work out such a good, professional makeup for the characters? It doesn't sound easy to find all the stuff! By the way, I know I'm being too pushy, but so it there a chance for a written script and/or a better quality version of the videos? I'd settle with only Jack O'Lantern, if it's too much of a bother. >_>
Was this actually one of the games produced by the game creators or is this a fanmade thing because I can find no record of any games actually made after khufu the mummy.
Well, thanks a lot, and in fact, the make-up is simply made with latex. I actually didn't have any experience in it, but I managed to find a few hints online, or in books, and then I just tried! And, I think, I improved little by little.
Deffinately creepy, but as far as visuals go Atmosfear 4 is *by far* the scaryest. Even now looking at the make-up of Elizabeth Bathory, it's pretty creepy, as a kid i was fuckin terrified of it. I wish they would release all the old VHS ones into one big DVD boxset with matching board and pieces.
Oh My God... I think im gonna have Nightmares now xD But AWESOME JOB!!! They should make a Hellin One Shes Probably the best one cuz shes small and cute and She can make your life living hell xD
One really last thing : the games on VHS were out in 91, 92, 93 and 94. The Harbingers in 95. 2 "booster tapes" of 45 minutes the same year, with the Gatekeeper, only in New-Zealand and Australia (all VHS games last 60 minutes), the Soul Rangers in 96. DVD Gatekeeper in 2003 (49 min. of game), 2006 : Khufu the Mummy (45 min. of game). My Djinn on DVD is a 45 min. game, the one with the Pirate is a 49 min. game. As for the Evil Mirror, well, you never know! That's one of the different stuff.
In fact, I am currently working on a brand new game. I have to deal with that before doing anything else. I am also making some clips for another guy who's making new versions of atmosfear.
Yeah I got all my games in their full version, with new sets of cards I had created, but all in French, obviously. As you said, Zombo was THE reference when I decided to create his own game. Him, and the Killer Klowns from Outer Space :)
Nice work. I always wondered how the original series would have handled Hellin, had they got round to her. Gevaudan's progression over 1 hour would have been fairly simple, but Khufu and Hellin pretty much start off as what they are.
A doll? That's one interesting way to interpret Hellin. However, the fact it's a grownup male acting as her gives indeed a ridicule effect. XD Still... it was a creative concept and after the first laughs I actually enjoyed it. But I must know, are you the actor for ALL these fanvideos?
Wait...I keep reading in the comments that this is fan made. So you can't actually buy this in a game like you can with The Gatekeeper or Baron Samedi?
I was wondering how Hellin would be portrayed. I like it the voice the make-up, she's almost like a possessed doll. It's genuinely creepy even before she makes it to her final form.
Well I don't know what to say. Guess I'm stuck with a low-quality blurred video.... of which, what's worse, I can only understand a 20%. *sigh* Why did I know it already?
Merci.
leaving only Hellin, Poltergeist, Nightmare VII and that would have been all 6 characters including the Original, Nightmare headed up by The Gatekeeper!
Then, every 4 to 6 months for the rest. Burnt to DVD, but with linear appearances. Khufu the Mummy, the real one, was finally out on DVD, with totally new board and games rules, whereas the other sequels on VHS (only a brand new VHS, cards and a few different rules) were meant to be played with the full game set, the one with the Gatekeeper (or the Zombie! In France anyway...), with the board, pieces and all. Same things for my games (for Hellin, here, you can play it with a color dice too).
I wish this episode could be released for real ...i played this character but i've ever thought it was a boy.! LOL Anyway...this one iys pretty damn good! Chapeau!
@ausdude86 Thanx a lot :) It was a long time ago, and if I had to make all that nowadays it would look muuuuuuch better, but we had a lot of fun doin' that back in those days :)
Come on, don't make fun of me! I'm actually your fan or I wouldn't make such severe comments, trust me! I've even downloaded Jack O'Lantern (and I'm dying to know what he says - I understand 35% of his phrases). What I meant is if you also played the banshee, because she really looks like a female actress: can't be you, or is it?
