I was asked to send a clip from the official DVD board game hosted by Khufu the mummy. Well, I ripped it all and edited a selection of it, so here it is. Quite short, if you ask me, but unfortunately, it can't last more than 10 minutes, as you probably all know... Anyway, enjoy!

My old neighbor would've loved this game, she was really big on Egyptian mythology and always played as Khufu when we played the '90s Atmosfear, and of course the Gatekeeper DVD game

I understand why people can be disappointed. But to be honest, I like this game for what it is - the rules, the casino stuff, etc... Khufu was released when I was in my late 20s, it wouldn't have scared me anyway :) We mostly find the old ones scary because we were kids when they got released. I can't say they have the same effect on me nowadays, but I still cherish them as part of my childhood.

Shame they made the hosts of the DVD version of the Atmosfear games so goofy and camp. Nothing like the original VHS games which were actually scary. It was those games which got me interested in horror. I heard the original creators A Couple 'A Cowboys are planning to re-release the original games next year on DVD. Really hope this happens

None of them were scary, we were just young and easily scared. Baron Samedi was a clown.

@@Ralph-id3xg Baron Samedi was such a bro. Original Gatekeeper was the scariest as he really does have that vibe of mystery and you had no idea what to expect. Ann does not feel scary as you remember she is a cute girl, and Liz well is very hot, and while looks as a cenobite as she begins to change, the extra metal jaw makes her look like an armour like trying to be a super heroine and the purple/pink tint makes he look cute; like she is trying to be a humanize Rouge The Bat. DVD Gatekeeper feels more like crank Palpatine and new Gatekeeper is CGI meh. Oh and Mummy guy is not scary at all.

Jim, the first one was scary. Samedi was campy, the girls were not much as they start attractive but Liz has her moments.

The problem is despite the talking mummy, this doesn't feel like a horror game. They don't really attempt to make a horror setting, just a silly Las Vegas Theme. The setting may as well be Luxor

atleast it fits his character since he does own a casino but i think if they did make a atmosfear/nightmare V it would be scary and maybe still have a casino idea with some of his characteristics in it aka KING CLICHE which he may call a person one of his kids names and treat them like dirtbag while also giving errands like anne does thats my idea of how it would go

It feels wired at the start is a white sand timer and at the end it’s the gold numbers! I remember the other atmosfear they just had numbers not white sand timers

I'm guessing they didnt have the whole changing as the game progresses ethier from the space in the DVD would be limited since imagine how many scenes would need to be filmed

@Tamika Hampton It is the same guy. It's in keeping with the original series where the same actor played both The Gatekeeper and Baron Samedi, They also had an actress that played both Elizabeth Bathory and Anne De Chantraine

I understand your point of view, though I don't find the "original" ones particularly scary. We must not forget that we used to be kids when those were released, we didn't consider them the same way we do with these new ones.

@TheMadDragon Er - in 2006 it was out in Australia, if I'm correct. This game, the kinda sequel to the Gatekeeper on DVD, was only released in English and Spanish, as far as I know.

I read so many comments saying this game was bad, making me not want to play it. When I finally bought it, it became one of my absolutely favourites (behind Harbingers) So basically, it's nostalgia-racists who are afraid of change

@CapitaineGMC Well, it's not realy "scary" but atleast the other ones had a more "horror-like" theme to it than this one. As this was just a board game of going to win by playing little mini-games. The other board-games actualy had some "fear" in it. Well, except for the Baron Samedi, he was just hilarious.

This makes me want to watch the entire dvd since I liked the original VHS tapes of Nightmare/Atmosfear. Granted this is a little more camp and a lot less creep factor it still has some semblance of charm. I still think the original gatekeeper had a memorable portrayal as the Gatekeeper than this actor but that's more of my own bias than anything else.

@xaviervonrottie The entire time listening, I just want to tell Khufu where to stick it. His entrance was scary until "Who is the mummy?" With the Gatekeeper, I felt like even if I was just going along, I could still convince myself I was scared just for fun. Plus, the Gatekeeper became creeper as the game went on. Khufu had potential but failed.

Technically, one could make a .ISO file which would be a 1:1 copy of the DVD. Unfortunately i don't have this game (yet), but i'll do this if i can get my hands on it

I understand that atmosfear was fun for ''all'' the family but the original first 2 was actually scary, which In fairness is the point of the game, but this has got CITV written all over it and has ruined a perfectly original game that was way before it's time.

It is a shame that they did not do the (forgive the spellings) Baron, Elizabeth, Gevedun, Helin and Anne. They would have been EPIC... And I have to agree with "fatkidslappy". The older Atmosfears/Nightmares were alot better, and not so, well, dodgy. Still, I really enjoy the Gatekeeper in the newish Atmosfear. Though I wish the company that produced it hadn't gone bankrupt or whatever happened... :'(

While Baron, Elizabeth and Anne have their own games, the gameplay was quite complicated, but the actors/actresses did great jobs on the videos :) As for the company, I believe they got bought out by Hasbro and have been dormant ever since Here's the hoping for a blu-ray reboot

This game is absolutely terrible, it doesn’t compete with nightmare.i can get it if this was a ‘kids’ board game but atmosfear didn’t try and make it scary at all

First Nightmare game, awesome. Couldn't find the other parts except for #4, which wasn't as scary as the first one. Atmosfear was sheer and utter crap, hence why its never been attempted again. They butchered it so bad with the confusing mess of a board game that atmosfear was, plus he wasn't even remotely as freaky as he was in the first video. Plus the heavy metal guitars aren't really selling horror in Atmosfear. Couldn't ever find the other parts of the original nightmare game tho which is a shame.
