Here in Mexico city is a similar situation, sometimes we spend two hours to move from one side to the city to another, and peak hours are hell on earth, plus, we must to board an insecure bus for a second step of our journey. I see the Filipino people are pacient and educated, good for you. I hope your situation get better soon. A huge hug friends.

Historically Mexico and the Philippines are related one way or another. My question is how is the political situation in mexico? Is it the same as what we have in the Philippines were members of the same extended family hold and rotate amongst all the important positions of government?

More trains, faster trains, imagine Maglev in Philippines! It would be incredible. It's a pity about Philipines because so much potential to make money yet none of your richest spend any money as investment. For example: No decent ZOO. No decent Marine World No good theme parks (never spend decent money on anything,) What can you do in Manila except maybe do a tour of the garbage tip? Nothing really great to visit not even impressive airport. Just mouldy buildings, traffic congestion, shantys, and stinking Manila Bay. No one seems to care about the Philipines including the government. Even the Indian billionaire built a huge hospital for medical tourism yet Philipines appears to be nothing? Why don't Marcos Family put money into Philipines because potential to make huge money. Medical Tourism could be big money earner for Philipines. Thailand does it. Legalise ABORTION in Philippines. Potential to make billions in abortions alone. You have many nurses. You could bring money into the country. Religion is outdated and no longer relevant. Who believe in deities now? Filipinos never follow the teachings of the bible so why bother practicing what is preached? It's huge waste of time. Not many white Australian are religious pretty much dead now.
@EricMartinezPH
@EricMartinezPH 5 лет назад
In many of the points here, you're preaching to the choir brother! There's so much that can be done if there's only political will. Other countries in asia like S Korea, Thailand and Taiwan used to look up to us in terms of infrastructure but that has fallen to the pits exponentially. We are the only country that does not have Divorce, imagine that

My husband used to commute by riding two buses (a local and a commuter) from a WA state suburb to work in downtown Seattle (about 20 miles/32 km). It was a 3-hour commute round trip. After seeing this, his pales in comparison. He at least isn't smooshed like sardines and have the luxury of reading or falling asleep in a temp-controlled bus. Can only imagine how much worse the commute home in the evening and when it's raining there. Left the Philippines in 1986 when I was 12 y.o. but I remember distinctly riding those jeeps and the horrible traffic. Thanks for this vid and going through all that hassle to show us. Much obliged.

One of the issue i noticed in some countries is that the politicians think that public transport should make profits if not it's waste of time. No, public transport and public housing should not meant to be make profits rather it is to solve the problems and to served the public citizens. Public transport and housing are usually subsidy in the developed world, the only making profits was airlines and tourism. I visited Manilla and I noticed something, it is a very populated dense city but here's come the problem... More cars than humans while very little comfort commuting option, the train are small and not enough cabin to hold hundred thousand filipino passengers daily. And why build metro station right in the middle of a road it will become difficult to revamp and do upgrading since more cars which means that they have to build wider road led to lesser rapid metro and pedestrian path space. All boil down to poor urban planning infrastructure and system that cause all the problems stated in the video

It takes 1.40 hours the moment I step out my house in district of Kajang to another district in Petaling Jaya (metro KL) for a 29km commute. I would drive to the nearest park and ride station+Train (23 stop) + walking. I sometimes just drive all the way which takes 1.20 hours during peak hours. Sure its 20 minutes less commuting., but I find driving more stresfull, besides parking and petrol is expensive. I rarely commute to office though. Sometimes I commute to my project site located at KL Central business district. Average commute time by train is 50 minutes for a 18 km distance. KL train serves well at cbd but full of crap as you travel to the suburb.

But both of those countries have improved by a lot. In India by Delhi metro i can move 30km under an hour, unlike Manila were it takes 3hours for 16km add on the long queue lines. I will go insane there. India might not be clean but public transport is efficient.

I am Indonesian living in Jakarta and cannot imagine if you have to be in queue just for enter the station, must be stressful as well if it is raining as Indonesia generally has 6 months of raining season 😩. The fully packed people in train is quite the same everywhere else including here during rush hours. I’m spending mostly 1.15 hours commuting from my home to the office (25km) with my motorbike-commuter line train-shuttle bus (mini transjakarta).

It's pain in the arse indeed to commute via public transport during peak hours. I hope government would act or continue to act without delays to alleviate public's daily commute.

Aside from building more train lines, the train lines that are there now would move faster and carry more people if people didn't try to force their way into the train cars. So much time is wasted with the train sitting there while this happens. If the trains could get into and out of the stations faster, the frequency of trains could be increased and so would carry more people

If you have the money, yeah you pretty much better off taking grab, taxi or a private driver..Especially if your are a tourist..I really loved japans subways system..you do get sardined in but dont expect to wait to long for trains..5 minutes at most..and you get your place on a timely matter..Not to mention, its very easy to get to a train stations in tokyo..I will say, filipinos attitude as far as queing on subs is very similar to Japan..so there is at least that..
