I wonder if the instant gratification culture we have contributes to someone telling you that they don't make any money from helping you. I would have tried to make your experience smooth as hell, and since you already showed willingness to buy a car, played the long game by getting you my card and info, and developing a relationship where in a year or two you seek ME out to buy your next one.
Your right, we people that watch videos and follow forums about the Maverick know so much more about the processes of ordering than the dealer. I ordered a hybrid lariat on the first day loaded up and I'm not going to switch mine. From the videos I have watched, since I ordered on the first day I should get it but maybe not till summer but I'm fine with that.
Glad you were able to switch. After reading the news that we can switch powertrains and trim, wanted to switch from a hybrid xlt to a Tremor xlt. My order was a converted 22 to 23 and by the time I wanted to change, dealer said that it was already priority 2 and it might not be a good idea. One month later, it's assembled and shipped. Oh well.
I wish you luck and a word of advice, don’t trust anything Ford tells you via email or the track your order tool. I’ve been scheduled then unscheduled also I’ve been built and waiting for shipment back to in production. I’m at the point when it’s here it’s here and that’s my advice to everyone who’s waiting.
I've heard that online tracker tool is very unreliable and your best bet is just to call Ford directly most of the time. They have access to far more than we do through that tool.
I don't think you want hybrid anyway. Any vehicle that constantly switches between power sources is likely doomed to fail for instance fail at 70mph on the highway.
