Im pretty sure Damiens just jealous of Dick. Thats why he keeps asserting himself as blood, to make himself feel better. He cant stand the fact that Dick was the first robin and that Bruce probably sees Dick more as a son then Damien.
+Raydnt well, dick and bruce is alike, even if dick hates it. They both lost their parents and saw their death, and couldn't do anything. Than fought for justice. Damian is fighting more like to get Batman proud of him. Actually, we can say that Dick(nightwing) may be the jealous one. After finishing every single comic about bat family, nightwing, robins.. Bruce is totally the worst parent ever. He even tried to replace dick with 'Mother''s clones and saw him never enough. And literally said that he was born to be on the Owl's sides, and pushed him away because of Dick's parents and circus's dark past. So i think Dick can be jealous of Damian, because Dick wasn't a chosen one for Bruce, he forced himself in. While Damian is Bruce's son, from his blood and flesh. Bruce never saw Dick as his son other than acting on society. But Damian is his son, both mental and physical. But well,ehm, In 'Robin War', damian is so tied to the tittle 'robin' that he even joins owls, because he knows that he can be the robin enough for batman, or the batman himself. In Dawn of Justice, he even kills Dick by accident, due to him always telling how a robin should act. So we can say that they are both jealous of each other, but they love each other too, just like every person loves each other on bat family.

I don't dislike Tim. I was mostly referring to this scene where Damien was talking shit to Dick. Not to mention Dick actually inherited Batman's cowl for a time. I'm not saying Tim sucks. I just feel like Dick is the most likely choice of being the next Batman when Bruce retires.

Jarrod Watson Easy because Dick is slightly stronger/better then Jason who is stronger/better then Tim who straight up decimated Damian in a head to head fight and had Damian begging Tim to stop when Tim got tired of his shit. If Dick wouldn't have saved him then Damian probably would've died from the sheer amount of embarrassment of that one single moment. Granted this was before his powers and before he died.
Every time Damian mentions how he's the real son or the fact that Dick's from the circus and is an orphan kills me inside because I can tell it's doing the same to him. Dick was always my favorite.
Batman/Bruce Wayne has 5 to 8 children. Richard Grayson, Jason Todd, Timothy Drake, Cassandra Cain and Damian Wayne. With the sixth being Helena (Selina's daughter). The other two would be Terry and Matt from Beyond who also share Bruce's DNA. Its not a contest and Bruce is closer to Dick, was closer to Jason, and while he flip flops on Tim even his relationship there is better than the one with Damian. So no, its not a contest but if it was Damian is firmly in last place.

The comic you are talking about where Dick got angry at Bruce is the only time it is ever mentioned that Jason was adopted. Everywhere else he and other characters say that he was Bruce's Ward. That comic was either a mistake or writers just forgot about it. It really wouldn't have made sense that he was adopted because his character was supposed to be an exact copy of Dick's and he shown as a ward while he was Robin. Then the killed him off because everyone hated him.
DFM Productions I actually wondered about that. I know Jason wasn't that creative of a character, being a clone of young Dick. But what did they do to him that made people hate him so much? This was before my time in comics.
Jacob Bielski They hated him because he was a clone of Dick and they felt he was replacing him. That is really it. Then DC changed Jason to be more aggressive (as well as giving him a new backstory that did not involve "The Flying Todds") and even go as far as killing someone. This just made people hate him more. At the back of the issue which showed him getting blown up after being beaten infamously by Joker's crowbar, DC had a poll so that fans could decide whether Jason died or not. He ended up dead, of course, but more recently it has been revealed that someone may have hijacked the poll which skewed the outcome. So the hate may have been not as great as we were lead to believe.
Those kicks that Nightwing gave Damian should have put him out for good, this is the only problem with this movie DAMIAN is too OP I swear he on some Uchiha level shit.

Many people don't get the point of Damian's final statement. He did EXACTLY what Batman would have done in a similar situation. Dick is bigger, stronger and probably faster than Damian. Not to mention that despite Damian's training Dick has FAR more actual combat experience than Damian does. He's the better fighter and probably always will be. This is clearly shown when earlier in the movie he defeats Damian without really harming him (so we know he was holding back) while Damian was actively trying to kill him. He's LEAGUES above that annoying little shit. What makes Damian stand out is that he recognizes this, abeit begrudgingly. He boasts about his ''superior'' training, then gets his ass kicked for a second time by the guy he called a ''circus clown'' and who's had his father's love and appreciation from before he was even born. And he's not stupid, he knows his father mostly sees him as a nuisance at this point. However, he swallows his pride after being bested and goes for mind games instead, trying to find an opening and it works. Something Batman is FAMOUS for doing and one of the reasons he's such a badass. He dosen't have to defeat you because he puts you into a position where you do it yourself. And it's not like it's unrealistic that Dick would fall for it, since he's been known for letting his emotions get the better of him from time to time. That's one of the main things that make him different from Batman. Of course, if Dick was in a similar situation he would have done the same, he's done so multiple times. This scene isn’t perfect though, as Damian’s insults are pretty simple and forward and someone without as much pent up emotions as Dick wouldn’t have fallen for it; Tim for example, would have seen right through Damian the second he opened his mouth. It’s a shame that they had to choose Nightwing of all people for Damian to show his growth over.

Dick threw his weapon away u really think he cared abt the fight?? Batman doesn't kill but he commits excesses every now and then. The fact was that this was a fight of discipline and nut punching someone in a 1 on 1 training fight is not actually right. He pulled an excess and that what dick really meant. Doing something u really didn't need to do. Damian isn't as deep as u think. He is the kind of guy who would kill someone, miss them and then without care of consequence do whatever the hell he wants.
I don't like this stupid idea that DC is running with that Damian Wayne ( 10 years old ) can outfight Dick Grayson ( early 20"s? ) in physical fight. No way. No 10 year old, no matter how good their training was; can match the strength and speed of a man in his physical prime. Damian would need a better weapon to beat Dick than just a sword.

Just liked to point out that Damian is the grandson of Ra's al Ghul. He was trained to be the perfect weapon, well actually made to be. Plus, Damian uses mean comments to distract his opponents in a fight. He tends to use that defense when he's losing.
He trained to ignore and cope with pain and punishment. With this he can fight at his peak 100% of the time and even push his body to the limit where as Dick trained in skill and muscle. Damian is pushing his body's limits and Dick only trained to his best.

yeah, that was the whole point, A robin that didn't follow the rules, it was a way to essentially get rid of that "boy wonder" thing they had going for dick, the whole boy scout mentality, which later translated into how dick was portrayed, asking more questions, defying orders a bit more. My favorite is Tim, who was literally the perfect mix between the two, dark and brooding, but still a total shithead when he wanted to be, plus him and Dick had one of the best comic relationships I had seen, true brotherhood, if you weren't told, you probably wouldn't know they're not blood

Dick Grayson would drop Damian in a few seconds if this was accurate. How they portrayed these two is pretty sad in this movie, Nightwing underpowered, Damian overpowered... silly. Plus, they wouldn't even fight in the first place, Damian and Dick actually have a great relationship in the comics (Tim was the former-robin Damian hated). I really wish these animated Batman shows would take some advice from Young Justice when portraying Dick Grayson/Nightwing... he was definitely at his strongest there.
Watching this movie I felt as if they made Dick look a lot weaker than he really is especially in this scene, also when Wayne Manor is invaded, it felt that he wasn't really Dick Grayson anymore he was all the bad traits of each Robins personality especially Jason's like the way he treats Damian in this compared to the comics when he was Batman it's just awful

I don't know how to feel here. Am I supposed to sympathize with the kid treating the first Robin (who's basically his adoptive older brother) like trash Batman found off the streets? I know this is supposed to be a story where Damian eventually eases into the Robin role, so he's a little selfish and rough, but DAMN, do I want to see him get his ass kicked first. Preferably if Dick Grayson does it.
People seem to miss that when Damian fights people like Blue Beetle, Nightwing and Batman, they don't want to hurt him, but he's such a little fuck that he DOES want to hurt them. He's going all out while, if the others are staying true to their characters, they are not. Damian beating them when they're not trying to hurt him and he's trying to borderline-KILL them isn't very surprising. Also, some of the hits aren't very clear, so you could argue he hit both Nightwing and Batman in the dick.... That probably wasn't what was intended by the animators, but it's still a funny thought.
Justin Sanchez Yeah, the Deathstroke fight is pretty stupid. I wouldn't quite say Deathstroke would beat Batman, as Batman.... is Batman, but Damian definitely shouldn't have been able to shrug off getting both of his arms impaled then proceed to beat Deathstroke.
this whole film is weird. Batman get's almost killed by 3 talons early on and here he effortlessly fights dozens of them. Nightwing, whom is Batman's equal is made out to be far worse then he really is. Beaten by a 10 year old here(something that never even came close to happening in the comics) yet later he is shown to be perhaps even better then the Nightwing in the comics, taking out dozens of talons on his own, many of which after he was stabbed about a dozen times and then holding his own against the real Talon, something he couldn't do in the in the comics. Then later Robin is the one who beats Talon and is somehow shown to be better then Batman, something that can't happen because Daimain is actually dead in the comics.

In the comics the Joker gravely and morally injured Dick in his career as Robin this made Dick even more broken. Jason was tortured but still alive Dick got his ass beat by Joker as a young Robin not to mention Two Face almost killed Dick

Have to say I really like the Damian - Dick dynamic. It would be nice for the writers to give them a lot more time together. I don't mind the idea of a more paternal Batman, quite like it actually and I think it makes sense for the character, but I think this dynamic gives a lot of room for growth for both characters.
I think you guys forget that Damien Wayne train under his grandfather Ra's Al Gul since he was four years old. Climbin' mountains, studying actual ninja martial arts...on top of that having Bruce Waynes and Ra's Al Gul's genes...it's possible to beat Dick Grayson. I wouldn't say beat Bruce Wayne ...but he could beat Nightwing.
The fight makes no sense. Damian has only training. Training is only groundwork compared to actual field experience. They are on completely different levels. Bruce had some serious training (around 10+ years) before he started his career as Batman. And even with all his acquired skills from all around the world he sucked at being Batman first. Obviously, after years of experience he got much better. Dick has training from already experienced Batman and years of field experience. Let's compare Damian to Young Justice version of Nightwing because we don't know much about movies version of Nightwing. Dick became Robin when he was 9. He had four years of training and field experience when he founded the Team. And then he had five years of experience as Batman's partner and as a member of the Team, which dealed with very serious threats. So, Nightwing has 9 years of experience, he's Justice League level superhero. He should destroy Damian. And Dick definitely should know better than to let his enemies catch him off guard with some words and lines. With his experience it should be Dick who catches Damian off guard.
Ya, not to mention the usual F=MA which never seems to apply in comics/movies. Without mass you cannot produce any appreciable amount of force. Those 'strikes' Damian was able to land would've tickled at best.

I'm not mad that Nightwing lost this fight (though he has been a punching bag in nearly ALL of these animated films...but in THIS fight it made sense) because Damian literally pulled "a Batman." Notice Dick let his guard down when Robin commented on Bruce "taking pity on a poor orphan" and Damian saw the opening to defeat someone much stronger than him. Same thing Batman does lol he uses mental tactics as well as physical attacks. So when Damian looked above the defeated Nightwing and said "I'm his son"...that scene proved it to be true!
Well, looks like Damian was able to take Dick down because of something his grandfather taught him that Bruce was too moral to teach Dick. That being, use the emotional pain that someone has, which to a villain is a weakness, and exploit it to your advantage. For those of you thinking it's bull crap that Damian beat Dick, who is much older than him, aside from the fact that he was raised to be a skilled warrior and a weapon since birth, he also knew how to use Dick's emotional pain against him. Dick isn't able to get into Damian's head like that, since he's too moral for that, and that Damian keeps his pain hidden and won't let anyone exploit it. He actually reminds me of Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She was raised since birth to be a weapon to her father, was ignored by her mother who thought she was a monster (Yeah, because you really acted as a role model to her by ignoring and scolding her), used fear to control people, and deep down just wanted to be loved but won't show it.

And Nightwing was trained by Batman,one of the 3 best hand to hand combat experts in the entire DC universe,making him at least equally skilled. And in any case,there is no way in hell a 10 year old would grow up healthy with all this training from such a young age,let alone be capable of matching a fully grown 25 year old,extremely physically capable man like Nightwing.No matter the training,he doesnt have the mass or strength he d need to beat a serious Nightwing.

Damian in this movie was arguably better than any other version of Damian in the DCAU Why, because he really lived up to the name of Batman's son with that intellegence and fighting skill. Not to mention the stubbornness

He’s never had a big brother before, let alone one who leaves such big shoes to fill standing at their father’s side and leading the Titans. He went from being center stage in the spotlight and called a genius gift to humanity to being the littlest brother who is talked down to, scolded, and kicked around as he is just starting out on his journey in the massive legacy. I’m sure he’s also jealous that he was actually raised by their father and is deeply loved, respected, and trusted by him.
