Carrots that wander, never fading, raining. You're hard! And Jesus' snow white Zorro! Carrots that wander, hiding m&ms in a lamb, after they break... THEY BREAK!!!!
great singer =/= great bandmate. one can be great artist but still have personality that just doesn't fit the group. we're talking about person with whom you need to take trips that lasts for at least weeks or even moths. if the personal chemistry doesn't work then it's a game over.
Am I the only one who thinks that the guys were actually laughing at the performance themselves ?🤣😂🙏🙏don't know why but they either laugh, they're either trying to convince themselves they rock in this session🤯🤯😂😂😂🧟♀️peace and thank you, I had a good laugh❤
They look way happier now. But don't blame Anette, they picked her. I believe they wanted to differenciate themselves from Tarja as much as they could. Time went by, wounds healed and they realized it wasn't it. Anette left kinda heartbroken, (I feel they kinda experimented with her) however I love every past and actual member from nightwish, they all left a print in my heart!!!
Experiment with Anette? For me, it will always be a paradox that Anette received the most criticism. At the same time, her albums are the most successful albums of band.
@@AndreSomers Tuomas also thinks that a band should never be a prisoner for any specific format. "This was the music that everyone in the band wanted and one must follow the heart. Otherwise you start selling out. Nightwish is not a style or genre. It is a vision of 5 musicians and their view how to make music. Selfish? You bet. True? Damn straight!" Retrospectively, considering the fact that she had no lyrical singing capabilities, do you still think Anette was the right choice for Nightwish at the time? Yes, I do. I’ve said this many times. When I listen to Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum, I don’t think there is another person who could have sung those songs better than her. I really, honestly think so, and the rest of the band does, as well. That was not the issue.(Interview when Annette had left and Floor was singer). “What was the nadir of the first tour with Anette?” “When Anette’s voice went away. But there were other issues, difficulty of logistics and problems with some members of the staff. It was truly a long and exhausting tour. I rick saying that we quite pushed it too far. We will not go on such a gigantic tour like this with the new album. It has no point to nearly kill ourselves.” Tuomas Holopainen: We took a formal vote, but it was unanimous that she would be the one. It was a matter of heart. We felt she would be the right one, and everybody agreed. About Heavy Metal: Were you looking for someone with a different vocal style than Tarja, or is that just how it turned out? Tuomas Holopainen: We absolutely wanted to have something different. That was our only criteria. We didn't build a profile of what the new singer should sound like, what she should look like, or where she should be from. We just trusted the right one would be out there. The only thing we knew for sure was we did NOT want another classically trained operatic singer in the band. We thought it was time to move on and not find a copycat. The hard task was to find someone who had the same power and passion and emotion in her voice, but still sounded different. I personally think we hit the jackpot with Anette because her voice is really strong, but she can also do some wonderful interpretations. She has a lot of variety in her voice. She has a storyteller's voice and doesn't sound like Tarja at all.
Not experiment. Those guys just doing what they like to do. Nightwish should not be dictated by fans taste of music. Tuomas and marko have better taste of music imo. They absolutely know what they are doing. To me Imaginaerum is the best Nightwish album btw. Annette sung it.
I don't care what anyone else says about annette. She did a great job while she was there and while it didn't work out I don't think she deserves to be ridiculed so much. Also without her we wouldn't have floor now. On top of all that Im glad she has moved on to a new band and found success there.
@forrestperkins6237 yea they went in a more social science direction with their lyrics which to me is interesting but not as emotional , which is what I preferred from them
@forrestperkins6237 and I agree, the lineup changes have unfortunately rendered them a whole new band now. I think the big changes started happening when Troy joined. His flute playing was great on dark passion play and imagenerum, but I think he is responsible for influencing tuomas with changes the lyrical direction in a lot of ways
@@indepthliterature just a thought - but if you make music for like 20 years you will run out of ideas with any one subject and probs want to do something else at some point. people change with time and so does the art they make. it's natural.
Anette sang her songs better than anyone else, and they were great songs. Too bad they did not make a third album with her. Anyway, the only constant thing in life is change. Dark Matter albums with Jani Liimatainen were a great comeback for her.
The thing I notice the most in difference here is that Annette doesn't put the emotion into the songs. She sings them straight, obviously this is practice but I haven't seen a lot of difference in the live I have seen of her either. The other thing people have to understand is that the singers in this group were all at different parts of their careers whilst in Nightwish. Tarja was at the start Annette was also very much at the start whereas Floor is a seasoned performer having already fronted 2 other quite successful bands and been part of several other projects and live performances by the time she joins Nightwish. She is ready and grabs it with both hands :D
I was surprised to see they even use the pyrotechnics for the rehearsals, but hey, the pyro guys have to rehearse too! Also, they even sound amazing in rehearsal! i.e no huge P.A system, fancy EQ or mixing, ...just wow!
If Janis Joplin should sing these songs it would sound terrible. That does not mean that she wasn't a great singer. If you can see what I mean. Anette has a lovely voice - to something. But in concerts with Nigthwish it too often doesn't work. She sings out of tune and hasn't got the power and technique to phrase the demanding high notes. But some tunes and passages with Nightwish she sounds really good. And she would be really good to Mike Oldfield's Moonlight Shadow, she sounds a little like Maggie Reilly: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e80qhyovOnA.html (and Maggie Reilly wouldn't fit for Nightwish as well, but a nice voice).
Annette is just not that powerful.. i mean some songs on audio recording fits her beautifully but live she cant hit those notes.. made me wonder if they auto tuned her recordings..
She is not killing it in training session, a singer can't sing 100% at all time, so she "Save" her voice, if you want to see her performance live watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KZKUlUfEU08.html
Annette is very underrated, she has a powerful high voice like a child, she rocks, Floor and Tarja are amazing too, but there's nothing wrong with Annette.
If she would have practiced her vocals and put actual effort she could have been a crazy good live vocalist but she has a bad attitude thats mainly why she was fired
I actually stop listening to Nightwish when Anntte was singer and Nightwish is one of my favorite bands Since Angel's fall first... Tarja was the best when that's all I knew.. until came Floor!! For me Floor is Truly Amazing!! I love Floor she brought Nightwish back to life!! Floor just fits so well with Nightwish!! They couldn't of found a better singer!!
+Rabin Miguel this is obviously a rehearsal for the DPP tour, i literally have no idea what a 'training session' is, they write music, rehearse the music, have a dress rehearsal with all the gear and stage setup as if it was a real show, then they tour. I think someones making phrases up.
Problem with Tarja, she went way too operatic where it shouldn't have been.. She is that way now in her own group. She probably orders McDonald's even with an opera voice in a drive thru. No diversity even though she probably could do it. It's her mind where she is being held back. Now Anette is nice but way too 'dime a dozen' in sound. Floor whether she stays or not is exactly the sound they need and what they should look for when finding the next lead vocal.
@@ItsNotaTuhmah True, but honestly they would probalbly kind of fade away if it stayed that way, Tuomas would never write DPP and Imaginaerum the way it is and definitely EFMB and HN would never see the light of day, not the way it sounds now. Even though I believe Tarja does have the ability to sing more diversive like Floor (except the growling), she just won't. Even if those albums were writen with her, it would sound all the same and in the end... boring
I think some poor choices were made in studio production. There is so much difference in the studio versions and live performances. Annettes vocals were so dialed back on the studio versions but she absolutely sails it live. I feel bad for folks who may not have gone to see them live because of what they heard on the album. Unfortunately it appears they are doing it again on their latest release in 2024. I can barely hear Floors voice in the first single...SMH..why bother to have these amazing lead vocalist if your going to dial down their mic & hide their talent behind backing tracks. This release is even worse because there is no supporting tour, but I have faith that as soon as we hear these songs live ..it will be all better!
Anette "experimented "a lot with these live performances,i actually loved her style in both dark passion play and imaginaerum, but she just cant pull off songs that were made for singers like Tarja.Tarja is a classicaly trained singer and so is Floor so they can pull this off with ease. Also Anette seems to struggle with high notes such as f#5 live. However this is just my opinion i like all three Nw girls and their singing styles, however for live performances Floor just takes the cake for me!
PreyForForgiveness Anette is not a metal singer and has a very weak voice that does not fit Nightwish which is supposed to be epic therefore fan anger towards her is justified because it's unreal that she was even hired into a band.
@Porte87 OH MY FUCKING GOD I SO TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!! annette can't sing for shit UNLESS she is standing still. i actually started noticing annette's improvement ONLY AFTER she started to stand still instead of jumpin around & singing at the same time. somebody in the nightwish camp MUST have told her you need to stand still & sing because you sound far better
She was never right for the band. She's not a bad person or bad singer for that matter, but she just didn't fit into the Nightwish music. No need to blast her or anything but it is the truth. Tarja set the standard and then became Anette. Her voice was not the right one for the songs and can clearly be seen in the live performances. Floor is a very versatile vocalist and I think the band improved a LOT when she came on board. Now of course, it's just my opinion since music is subjective
I was a little baffled by the use of the word "training" in the title. What sort of training are they doing? But I see that it perhaps a non-native English speaker who posted. "Rehearsing" would have been more apropos.

The reason why she got kicked out of the band is obviously. But nevertheless she has a realy good voice for pop music and she will be succesfull with her solo career. I wish her all the best.
People give Annette such a hard time. She's a good singer, not as good as Floor, but that is an impossible feat since Floor has the greatest voice of anyone on earth. But Anetttes voice is good, for the songs that were written for her.
Very funny to see Tuomas' arms hurting for holding the microphone in the end. HUAHUAHAHU! This training is cool, unless 'cause Anette keep changin' some parts of the song.. "oone BYY heart...". u.u
On the contrary. Anette NEEDS backing tracks. In Storytime for instance, Anette is not able to sing the operatic notes, so she lets them be sung by the background tape, whereas Floor sings those notes herself. You should not tell lies that you can not substantiate. By the way: Anette sounds absolutely AWFULL. One of the worst singers I ever heard.
It´s incredible how much Annette lacks stage presence, makes me wonder how on earth she was chosen to join Nightwish. Fortunately Floor showed up to perfectly fulfill this role, and even the whole group seems to be more connected and happy playing nowadays with her in the band.

As insanely multi-talented as Floor is, one of the few things she doesn't do is cute. What Annette lacked in Floorisms like stage-owning dominance and belting, she made up for in bringing out the playful and cute side of these songs. Side note, did anyone else think for a second that Marko was sipping vodka in that outro? 😂
Agreed, although I won't pin it on Annette. It's a change the band decided on, and she is a capable singer although with a very different style and background as Tarja. I don't care they went down this path, I can still enjoy their older albums to a great extend.
I know it's rehearsals. but wow.. she put in like 0 effort here. Never cared for her as the singer of Nightwish.. A great band deserves an amazing vocalist that'll help escalate their greatness.. They picked the right replacement for sure...
This is a rehearsal and they are putting things together again after the 3 moths break. This is very common to the bands and they really don't try to Rock fully 100% in this case but in live with the crowd it's gonna be totally different!
