God, I understand him. I have the same face expression when my music teacher is forcing me to sing in front of the whole school and their parents. Then I think "Oh my god, don't look at me, please guys don't look at me... Please, God, don't let them make me sing EVER again!" and on the photos that mum show me later, my eyes said "Can't I just disappear??". Poor Tuomas. He's great, but he's SUFFERING.
Tuomas said in a documentary (Imaginaerum tour, I think) that he used to have terrible stage fright for a long time, it even made him sick before concerts, but that he's now over it and was able to accept that mistakes are a natural part of performing. I am glad for him, and I hope some day he applies this to singing on stage as well! This is literally the only time I heard him sing live, and I never saw him speak on stage.
He shouldn't feel embarrassed for this because he is so adorable, it makes my heart melt :') and he sings definitely good with such a sweet and sincere voice
@@js0988 sure mate, you know we are in 2021 and you compare what was in 2000, sure they are shit, 4k 60fps video with dolby, sure, keep telling yourself that and in your head it will turn to reality.
Tuomas must sing again!!!!!!! I don't know why he stopped, but he is just amazing, He does it really good and with feeling, I hope he sings again in the new album!!
He looks incredibly scared singing up there...but he has such a lovely voice! He should do a solo or something on the next album...of course, we can`t let Marco`s voice leave for good...just ONE song, Tuomi, and we`ll be happy! ;D
tarja doing a great job being a mic stand there :D why does the world listen to manufactured crap when they could listen TO THIS???? in finland this is the mainstream, so, I WANT TO LIVE IN FINLAND!
My favourite part of the song is definitely the ending. It's so hauntingly beautiful, like many other Nightwish songs (i think so). Btw Tarja and Tuomas - #flawless.
Tuomas is really the beast who never could have the beauty because of the master passion greed :( hopefully now he has endless forms most beautiful and he is happy again
@zephranna01 I'm glad someone knows what I mean. I'm so gutted that I only really got into Nightwish last Christmas. Before that anything I heard sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me. I just didn't appreciate Classical-styled music so much. Then something happened and I found Phantom of the Opera and I was hooked ever since. I was then sad that I'll never get to see Nightwish with Tarja. I saw Tarja a few weeks back and it was phenomenal. I bet seeing her with Nightwish was amazing...
He looks like he is dying ^^ Haha, I know this feeling, I guess I look like that when I'm singing, too (never filmed myself while singing^^) XD That's when you're focused on hitting every note... and when you have the false range for the song you try to sing xD Tuomas does a great job nevertheless, while I am failing very often ^^
@Sentya I agree. Some things do not need to be made public. I think most of us who discovered Nightwish too late, feel guilty and annoyed at ourselves that we'll never get to see them with Tarja. Someone invent a time machine already! haha
Imagine the shitstorm that would come to the Nightwish fandom if Tuomas decided to sing again... I mean, many people think he's a "diva", and for those people, that would only be one more reason to call him so. And I'm sure other people wouldn't like it. Anyway, I really love how he sings in Angels Fall First, I think he's got a beautiful voice :)
@Blackmag1988 If you reupload the file, won't it be better quality? RU-vid used to compress the hell out of things. And I'd love to have this in better quality... it must exist somewhere, this can't be the quality of the original recording!
@MrJabberzz not at all mate. By the time the had this show Marco wasn't even a Band member. It was Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica that was singing all the male vocals as a guest and not at as a band member. That until Marco joined the band and took all the responsabilities of singing over his shoulders:D and he is doing hell of a good job. Good Job Nightwish.. keep on rocking!
wow! never thought that Tuomas had such sound. it's the first time i hear him sing. it's pretty good!! but i think he plays the keyboards better. anyway, beautiful song!
:D Tuomas's voice is so nice... And, please someone tell me if in The Islander song, Is Tuomas singing? Because in some parts sounds like his voice... ¬¬
I know, right? I hate how everyone focuses so much on whether the band members are divas, or hate each other, or what, rather than focusing on their music
@nightwish231 Do YOU know Tuomas personally? If not, how can you like him? I think i can return you all the words you have said about not having our own life, but i wont do this:-) just kidding:-D
@TealOctober His voice is very weak. When i say that he is talented i mean his songwriter`s skills :-D Did you hear Tony Kakko (from Sonata Arctica) singing the beast?
It should still be Tuomas who're singing this song instead of Tony Kakko.. (no offense cause he's great to) but I like Tuomas much more with this song :) He's the best composer ever!
I agree, if he took singing lessons to improve, he could do great as aa 2nd male vocalist for Nightwish. I feel, though, he should first overcome his "I suck at singing" trauma, I mean, there are millions of god-awful singers out there making tons of money, so why should he be so concerned about not being Ronnie James Dio? Go Tuomas!
@zephranna01 And yeah, it's a real shame that the really talented bands who CAN sing, write their own music and perform fantastically live are over-shadowed by machine enhanced music and mimed performances. SO wrong.
@nightwish231Believe me, I understand you and your reasons to love Tuomas. All these things work for me too.I do not hate him for firing Tarja, he had the right to do it. I know that they did not get along with each other, that they had a lot of problem. But I hate the way that he did it. It was a very cowardly, immature thing to do. I believe that decent people do not wash their dirty linen in public. And this is exactly the thing they did.
