Look at all the members.....their music is bigger than their ego. Everyone wants to make himself or herself smaller than the song they are playing. And than........you get masterpieces!
One has to admit, they don't play you "songs", they perform stories, that pull your emotions this and that way, make you cry, rage, bang your head, ponder, etc....every emotion, and you can never tell which way they will take you. Floor's voice, and this excellent band's ability to yank my heart this way and that at will is why i love them so much. Well done...well done indeed all. Keep rocking. Much love from the USA.
The spoken part by the young boy is the Dead Boy's Poem within the song. This is a very emotional and personal song for Tuomas. The small child's voice represents Tuomas inner child speaking. When asked what this song was about "Tuomas has said about this song, that it's about if he were to die tomorrow, what would he want to say to everyone that he loves, and that love him..." Notice the small boy on the screen reaching out to the flying swans on the screen. The swan is the guide to the afterlife in Finnish mythology. He is reaching out to implore them to take him with to the other side. A beautiful song filled with sadness from an unfulfilled destiny. The whole band is responsible for this masterpiece, but in Wacken video she was a bit more 'loose' on stage. Or how would you call this...maybe its because of the armour she is wearing

@@robertcraane7910 78 year old American from Texas. Found Floor at Wacken 2013. As a musician of over 60 years with many genres of music I have loved, Nightwish is the greatest band I have ever heard, and Floor Jansen has no equal as a singer in any genre other than Top Opera or C&W.
Well you two, you know Tuomas often styles himself as a boy, so this is his self written obituary and then the lyrics make more sense to me at least. So a very appropriate use of Shakespeare's writing in Sonnet 71: "if you read this line, remember not the hand that wrote it" - he's saying remember the music he's made not the person.

As the gates to oblivion welcomes you. There's not one single shred of anything living after our lungs draw it's final breath and deprives the other organs the vital oxygen needed to survive. Piano then Forte? No Double Forte. TRIPLE FORTE!!! I say this in all seriousness; Nightwish would not have lasted this long with their previous singer. Anette was a very good pop singer but not with Tuomas' music. Can you hear her singing Dead Boy's Poem? Song Of Myself? Ghost Love Score??? No. Floor was the right singer at the right time for Nighwish. After she agreed to 'stand in' for Anette, Tuomas told her she had to memorize the whole setlist for their upcoming South American tour and she did that!!
Wishmaster is the album that introduced me to Nightwish some 20 years ago. I remember thinking just how emotional this song was when Tarja sang it. Now, hearing Floor sing it, even sick, is so much more poignant and powerful.

One dilemma with NW is that there is a female singing about male stories?!? - Anyway, this is a great song and performed well, but still I wonder how would it sound with e.g. male opera singer sharing the feelings with the lyrics. Just my thoughts.
