Nightwish - Ever Dream Tarja/Anette/Floor REACTIONS! 

My heart still hurts for Anette tbh, she got so much hate for being hired, she tried her best! The albums with her are amazing to me...of course I like Floor more but people were ruthless with her and the band was messy about firing her while she was ill. I know she had children and I imagine them seeing their mom getting hated on. She's a sweetheart, I hope she's doing great. Also I heard her dad recently died from covid :( life needs to give her a break

On Wacken 2013, every Nightwish member was on fire.. it's absolutely insane

I've been a fan of nightwish since Wishmaster. Gave them a chance with Annette due to a friend's recommendation of the Dark Passion Play album. He said that yeah the voice was different, but the compositions were even superior of everything they had done before. I was ready to give Annette a chance on a live, but to my surprise it was Floor who came to perform on that concert, 2-3 months after the Denver debacle. It was instant love. After that concert I was distress. Because I had several albums but none sounded to what I had just heard. Finally they release the Showtime storytime and was finally at ease because now the songs sounded how I wanted to be. As everyone here that is of course my personal preference but that's my nightwish story. Oh and Marko will always steal the show, there's no way that won't ever happen 🤣

I love all 3 versions! Each singer gave their own interpretation of the song and I think that's the most important thing we need to remember.

Stop arguing who the best singer of Nightwish is, it's obviously Marco :)

Floor is never trying to copie Tarja. She is always telling a story. That's what I love because it's so importent to get someones feelings

Tarja's pure operatic vocal are beautiful, but sometimes I feel like Tarja gets too caught up in her vibrato and loses pace with the instruments. Anette could have fronted any 80's rockband, easily! She's lighter, brighter and her annunciation is clearer than Tarja...but she just hasn't got (or doesn't demonstrate) the vocal range to partner with the instrumentation, it's not full enough. My own personal opinion is that Floor is the singer the band was waiting for, she is the Goldilocks zone. She has the vocal range and style range that can take be light, airy, operatic, rock , deep, dark, growly, and she can do it all in one phrase without trashing her vocal chords. She is spectacular. Hi my loves ^_^/ I feel that I have to address a few things😌 In my most HUMBLEST opinion EVAH, for ME, It's not about who sings better: It is who's voice fits this particular song more, you know? When I close my eyes... The feeling I get from Tarja is haunting, alluring and emotional and I feel like she is telling a story; I am a part of that story. When I close my eyes and hear Floor, I hear a powerful goodness singing--also with emotion and beautifully, but for me... And for THIS particular song... The haunting beauty of Tarja's voice just seems to make more sense! 🤷🏾‍♀️ It is not a slight to Floor-- something a lot of you don't seen to understand. BOTH singers are exquisite and in a league of their own! This reaction was NOT about who is better; it is about who's voice *I* prefer to hear singing this song. Listen... I am a NW fan, ALSO. Being a fan of the group, or a fan of one singer over another, should not mean that other fans would not have their own opinion AND/OR be able to EXPRESS it openly, as we have done on this reaction, lol. I'm sure that Floor and Tarja would not take offense to a versus Reaction to them singing 🤔 When I stop and think about the possible anger, distain, and the thumbs down, lol all because of a difference of an opinion-- OR, because we did a "versus" reaction... It is laughable, baby. I'm sorry. 🤭😂 I am almost certain that if we chose Floor, as the winner... We would not have gotten as many thumbs down. It's really sad. You know-- I get it: a lot of our viewers prefer Floor over Tarja. But why is it that if someone choose Tarja OVER Floor, that you get upset and want to give a thumbs down? Anette was great for studio, but lacked that amazing on stage presence and talent. Their 2 albums with her though are arguably some of their best

I love Tarja. Nightwish with her it's like Medieval Magic. There's something special about that. That said, Floor did bring greatness to the band again. She's like an Amazon. (Sorry, Nightwish with Annette it's really not my cup of tea).

I've been A nightwish fan since their first album. But I lost it after Dark Passion Play. When I found out Floor was their new singerI bought the dvd from Wacken and that was in 2015 (I bought it) And OMG. The love was immediatly back. My feelings... Nightwish with Tarja is a band with a Lead voacal. Nightwish with Anette is a band with backing vocals. Nightwish with Floor is the whole package. A band of brothers and loving what they do

I agree to disagree. Lets be honest, floor is the evolution of nw, its next level, she has it all, and marco and floor as a duo are impeccable, hands down. Its just my opinion.

For me....... FLOOR. No contest. Not a dis to the other ladies. Especially not Tarjia. But Floor really elevated the whole bands sound, as if it could be raised higher. Great vid you guys. Enjoyed the hell out of it.

Floor has the whole package, more complete than the others. With the best life performance in Wacken, only Floor can do this. Wacken was Floors first big performance with this band and she took this band to a whole new level. That's why I became fan of Nightwish.

Personally I like Floor the most. Tarja is operatic every time all the time, and that’s fine, she has a great operatic voice. But Floors amazing multi style/range voice blends perfectly with the metal essence of Nightwish. Floor is operatic when the song and the lyrics require so, but will also metal out perfectly, her magnetic and powerful stage presence along with her one of a kind voice helps make the perfect mesh between the Symphonic and Metal essences of Nightwish as a whole. I kinda liked Nightwish in their Tarja years, I thought the band and the musical arrangements were amazing but to be honest Tarja never did much for me, great operatic voice but I felt didn’t quite fit the band most of the time. I truly became a fan when Floor arrived, now I can’t get enough. My favorite all time band and my favorite all time lead singer. Of course this is but only my humble opinion. 🤟🤟✌️✌️

Something that I always liked about Floor, is that she has never tried to imitate tarja ... never She could perfectly sing all the old songs like her, but she doesn't does She not need it Floor takes the songs and makes them his own Floor always surprises you .

Hey guys, thanks for this! I came in contact with Nightwish when Anette was there. I fell in love with the band and started listening to older Nightwish and loved it too. Then Wacken 2013 happened and I was floored. The diversity and stage presence that Floor commands is simply amazing. A true metalhead to the core with the ability to go from growljng to opera. Like you said, all three are great singers, but for me personally, Floor (and Troy who was officially added to the band at the same time as Floor) completes Nightwish. i like Floor's version but Tarja's dark, full resonance sings to my heart..every time

I think every singer in Nightwish is unique in their own style and give the band its different colors. Tarja was my first love. I remembering hearing Wishmaster album in high school and thinking "wow, THIS is what I was looking for". Then Anette came and being used to Tarja for years I had some trouble in adapting to its completely different style in DPP, but it was an experience and it had very, very good moments. Then Imaginaerum came, my all time favorite NW album. Anette really shined in this one for me, its production, the care they put on arrangements, orchestra, everything... Just mindblowing. And then well, what to say about Floor... Her performance on Wacken 2013 was from another planet. Before that I never went too much into their shows with the exception of End of an Era, but man... Wacken was a game changer for me. So yes. In my opinion, all 3 of them make Nightwish amazing their own way, with the whole band there making that possible too. Great video, I love you guys. To me is definitely Floor.😍

Tara's style is more gothic. With her accent, her outfits and how she moves on the stage, she could play in a vampire movie and win an Oscar! Annette's style is more 'Miami Vice'. Floor's style is more Nightwish. I like all three versions!

I appreciate Anette's time in Nightwish, she really brought forth a very unique sound, that sounded good for the music that was written for her. Nightwish - Scaretale is an example of that. For Tarja songs, Anette's version of Planet Hell is crazy. React to Nightwish - Planet Hell (Official Live) And her version of Ghost Love Score was pretty good too. Nightwish - Ghost Love Score @ Hartwall Arena. It's not professionally recorded, but it's still good.

I love Tarjas Version but I think Floors is the best to me. Her range, the emotion...unreached. I always had the feeling that Floor is the first singer who enjoys singing those songs. If you see them live, you have never seen the band happier than since Floor joined. I always felt that tere was a distance between Tarja and the band, like she seem unreacheble. Floor seems to sing with the band. Annette was Ok and all versions were great but Floors is the one that stands out to me. Thank you for this respectful comparison. Great reaction.

Definitely Foor Jansen, I really love Tarja, the only NW show here in my country was back in the 2000s BUT man... Floor brought this song to another level, with Floor this music goes inside me, I hear this music with my entire body man, I really wish I could have been there in waken 2013... probably the best show from NW until now.

Tarjas version is excellent, but floor is able to do so much more so well, where tarja is limited by the fact that she sticks to opera style at all times here.

The song sounds so slow with Tarja, I miss the dynamics that Floor brings to the song. there is a great built up in the song with her. i miss that with Tarja.

For anyone who wants to check Anette at her best, there are four songs for you : Rest Calm, Scaretale, Slow Love Slow and Meadows of Heaven. :)

Bearing in mind this song was specifically written for Tarja's voice and speciality. I personally prefer Floors voice because I heard her sing this song first. Isn't life wonderful in that we can all decide what we like, imagine if we all like one thing. Love your reactions. Before listening to Floor sing the old songs I didn't realize how much Tarja uses her vibrato and how now it even bothers me a bit 😁 I think it has happened to many of us that we prefer Floor's voice because she plays with her vocal range and gives to the songs new feelings and moments I enjoy the old songs even more

Floor Jansen for the WIN. She is just a beautiful monster vocally - while still making you feel the emotion of every song. Unmatched.

I don't think you realize that Floor does not want to sound like Tarja. She wants her own sound. She can do it more operatically but I believe she is more comfortable doing her own interpretation. She wants it to be different than Tarja so it stands out as her own. Also Tarja is not near as versatile as Floor. Floor can do many different genres or styles. I don't believe Tarja would sound as good as Floor on last 2 albums done by Floor with Nightwish.

Tarja's one was my favourite, now it is Floor's belting!

i think who you hear sing a song first makes a big difference in how you perceive it as being the "right way". my first time hearing "Everdream" was Floor's version, along with most of the Wacken setlist. the exception being "Amaranth", i saw the video when it fist came out. i'm just not a fan of Tarja's all-opera-all-the-time style. i like Floor's agility with her tone and placement.

I love both versions (not Annette), but Floor's voice has more range, depth, volume, and power then any singer that I have ever listened to. For me it is no contest. Floor #1

I have seen Nightwish live few times, first time with Tarja. Never touched me and didin't listen to the music that time. Anette got me listening to Nightwish and now with Floor listening every day. Saw them in Tampere 2015, what an emotional ride it was! Thank you Tuomas, Marko, Emppu, Floor and Kai🙌. I do have two tickets already for their shows, waiting patiently for them to come to Oulu in Finland for the Human Nature's release gig ♥️😄.

It still is a question of taste but in my opinion Floor has made Nightwish a lot more complete. Also her emotion in singing and performance makes Nightwish even more unique. Also i noticed that sinds Floor joyned Nightwish there's much more fun and friendship in the band. Floor has mentioned that Nightwish is her familly and that you can see in everything on stage. Floor is just so enchanting its insane. And why so many dislikes Nightwish army?! That ain't it. They put so much work into this and you get all 3 interpretations in one reaction. What is there not to like? I also noticed you just open with Two Steps From Hell?! And that is another one of my all time favourites. Loving the new hairstyle !!! This song has very special meaning to me because it takes me back at least 16 years, I used to listen to Century Child before going to bed and this song is just entwined with the memory. So that is Tarja's version that just goes straight to my late childhood. And with all respect to Anette, her version just doesn't work for me at all. And Floor, well, Floor live overshadows Tarja's studio versions. I'm sure there is a nicer way of saying that but tell me you can go back and appreciate the album version of Ghost Love Score like you used to after you have seen and listened to Ghost Love Floor at Wacken

1:20 - thank you for using Two Steps from Hell ❤️. I came in the Anette era, I loved Anette. Tarja was interesting to me since I'd never heard it before. So I listened to it a bit. Then I got into Floor.. Oh boy

For me Floor is like the whole violin section, and her effect on me is like a warrior companion on a quest, she inspires me, makes me able to for an extra mile or 10. I feel I can go through solid rock. Anette sounds like a guitar or mandolin, I feel I can sigh the stress away by the campfire with her, Or in an inn by the road, when I rest my weary bones by the fireplace, she would curl in my armpit to purr. Tarja sounds like a flute, she makes me dream, fly with the stars. She makes a sky walker. I feel I can fly, I'm walking in the air with her.

In tarja s version you can hear marco holding back whilst on the floor version they go full out and stepping it twice up in hight and intensity. and the tarja version sounds slower and kills the dynamics of the whole. just saying

There's few NW duets where Tarja and Floor sing together (i.e Bless my child duet) Annettes NW song: "Meadows of heaven" has in the past two months been on YT in many channels to honor memory of deceased Ann Waycroft... There's no need to compete or share medals... They have all been Nightwish lead singers - that's enought for me

I claim the Floor Battalion in the Nightwish Army, but all three of these ladies are so fantastic in their respective ways.

It is funny how hard it is for people to admit when they like Tarja. I mostly agree what you said and prefer Tarja in this song. And I think it is good to knowledge that the time difference is almost 10 years. Music changes in that time. NW changed. And I have to say Floor fits the band better than Tarja would right now. I'm glad all of them are having the time of their life!

A little shocked by some of the comments in here. I guess I've just seen so many years of positivity with the NW Army that it was bound to start crumbling eventually. I'm blaming 2020. Opinions, I understand but why the hostility, why the viciousness? Nightwish is something that we all, presumably, love. There is no need to tear someone down because they are not in lock step agreement with your opinion. There is no need to hate on Tarja, Annette or Floor because this one or that one isn't your favorite. There is wonder and beauty to be found in all of their albums. I've been listening to them since 1998 and they have gotten me through so many tough times- it's just hard for me to imagine that someone who loves and "gets" this band could be capable of some of the rhetoric that I've seen on display in this comment section and some others recently.

Not difficult for me, easily Floor. Song works far better with her style, even beyond her pure talent.

I had never heard Annette's version of this, and I gotta say, I really liked it! But then, I like Annette. It's too bad her vocal type didn't exactly like up with Nightwish, but I've heard some of her other work and it's wonderful! Its funny that Wolf was describing the accent and tone of Tarja as being what draws him to her. Those are the exact traits that turn me off. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. And that frustrates the hell out me. I so badly want to like her voice, because the bulk of the Nightwish catalog is unlistenable for me. Floor is everything, in my opinion. Her range, versatility, bravery and personality seal the deal.

*It depends on the era and the particular song. "Ever Dream" and "Amaranth" are the two songs where I still prefer the original versions. With "Nemo" I still like the original version the most, but the "Floor Live"-version is now almost head to head with the original. I still like the original 1999-version of "Sleeping Sun" the most [incl. musical arrangement and style], For me I still choose "Ghost Love Score" [Live from Buenos Aires 2012] over the Wacken 2013-version. [Both Floor, as you all know]*

I don’t know if this sounds a little xenophobic, but that is genuinely not my intention … I loved Tarja from the very beginning, but after Floor, Tarja’s very heavy accent became very distracting for me, obviously that doesn’t take anything away from her absolutely incredible voice. Also, I think Floor with Marco is on a different level than Tarja and Marko …. At the end of the day I love them all, and what a gift Nightwish has been to my life. I travelled halfway across the world 3 times just to see them.

16:35 I didn't notice that Marko was singing the original melody of the previous choruses ^_^ well... maybe because I haven't watched this video :P I tend to prefer Tarja in the studio over live, and this one is no exception :P she's excellent live, but her singing style is different and is not my taste. I started listening to them after they fired Tarja and were searching for a new singer. Soon after that, I started listening to After Forever. Now Floor is my fav on Nightwish :) Her voice feels more 'like home' to me, also because she sings with a softer/warmer voice with Nightwish, compared to After Forever and ReVamp.

My favorite version is End of an Era. It’s by far the most emotional considering Tuomas wrote the song for Tarja and it was the last time she sang it. Don’t get me wrong, I adore all three singers but nothing compares to Tarjas version

The reason people dislike is because they are part of Floor. Floor is a wonderful kind, humble and beautiful singer. She is versatile and a great performer. Floor is more than a singer, though. That is why people feel 'betrayed' maybe? She saved Nightwish. Anette just had bad luck to be a 'interim singer'. Still, she has a wonderful voice. Tarja is Tarja. The start of an era. Great opera. Big voice. Less versatile and certainly not the podium beast Floor is. In classic parts she exceeds the other two big time. BTW, I always give you a 'like' for your in depth analyses. All that I can say is that I had listened to some Nightwish in the nineties, but it never grabbed me, only when I heard performances from Wacken 2013 recently, did I rediscover them with Floor and am now a fan, so for me Tarja's operatic style never grabbed me. I have the Decades compilation CD with the original recordings with Tarja, but after buying the Wacken, Wembley & Buenos Aires live CDs, I never felt the need to go back to Tarja's or Anette's versions. I understand that art is a question of taste and life experiences, so I do not have a problem with someone preferring Tarja.

Yay! More Nightwish :P My first album that I ever listened to of Nightwish was once, and this was one of the songs that I just loved so much. Oh man, watching the live version of EoaE again after so many years and knowing all the things we know... I am really starting to have a theory... but anyways. If I had a time machine, I'd want to go back to 2013 and attend their show at Wacken. That must have been such magic in person, the footage always gives me goosebumps and my first time seeing the video after a friend told me "Oh hey, Nightwish has a new singer and she's pretty good". That was an emotional day.

One more comment about Tarja and Floor. Compare the last choruses after they changed key. You'll notice that, just as with Ghost Love Score, Floor pumps out the high notes like it's no effort at all. Tarja actually changes the melody of the chorus so she doesn't have to go that high.

It seems that not many people know Floor is a High Sensitive Person (her own statement). High sensitivity, also called HSP, appears to occur in about 20% of the population. It is a unique quality (not an illness or condition)! Highly sensitive people have the ability to process sensory stimuli in a different and unique way. Often they are intuitive, highly sensitive to the atmosphere and are able to read and estimate people. Floor uses this fully to her advantage in her singing and performing, better yet, she made an art form out if it (my personal believe). This explains partly why Floor is so overwhelmingly power full in her performances. Her overwhelming talent, incredible voice, warm and humble personality, flawless technique and hard work is amplified by her highly developed sensitive side...(if you ask me)... and of course she is fueled by the enthusiasm of the Nightwish fans... Floor just brings everything to another level, unreachable for most singers... she really connects you to the songs...

My preference would be Floor as she delivered a more emotional response she blended better with Marko. So delivery speaking in totality Floor would be better. Tarjia being the first will be the emotional choice yet Floor delivered a emotional response tying the band and audience together

I love all the three versions but I go with Tarja too. The darkness in her voice brings another vibe to the band and brings to me memories of another Era. The contrast with Marco's voice is a big part of this song.

When Tarja left the band she also left a huge hole in my heart which Annette didn't have the vocals to heal. I had followed them since the release of Wishmaster and suddenly I couldn't listen to a single Nightwish song without a deep and profound sense of sadness. When I discovered that they had replaced Anette with Floor I decided it was time to give them another go and not only was I finally able to listen to everything Tarja had ever done, but I've also been able to slowly dig into the studio albums from Anette. Floor healed my broken metal heart and I'm forever grateful. Now if only the stupid beer-bug would go away and let me go to the concert in Antwerp in November!

Even before I listened to this, my choice was Floor. After I listened I´m even more convinced. She has something in her voice that puts tears my eyes, tears of joy this time :)

My Nightwish suggestions in the Tarja era: Beauty and the Beast Elvenpath Wishmaster Passion and the Opera Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan Slaying the Dreamer The Siren Planet Hell Floor is excellent but I prefer the version of Tarja.

The delivery.....I think that Floor did that the best....so my opinion is different from yours...so it's a question of taste afterall. Floor brings emotion to me, Annette and Tarja don't bring that to me like Floor.

Floor has a versatile voice, for me it's the best singer in Nightwish.

Keep in mind, this is my own personal opinion, so don't hate. My first exposure to Nightwish was after End of an Era but before Dark Passion Play. What attracted me to them was not the vocals, but the music, I have to admit. I was never thrilled with Tarja but they were the only versions at the time and Nightwish did get where they were/are due at least in part to her work, so props there. And there are certain songs that Tarja still is ideal for. As time went on, the band changed when Anette joined, DPP and Imaginaerum was more "pop" in style so Anette fit some of those songs more, but could not rival Tarja's style and skill. Anette's version of Everdream, IMHO, sounds like a cover band version...it just doesn't sound close to the same as the other two. Now Floor...I am biased. Again, IMHO, Floor is one of the best things to happen to Nightwish and is clearly an asset, can at least rival the older Tarja-era material and Anette-era material, own her own material, and is who I prefer to listen to most often. After hearing so much of Floor's live performances of older material, going back and listening to End of an Era is, honestly, not enjoyable for me anymore. I know others will not agree with me and the fanbase for all 3 singers is pretty hardcore and set in stone, but it is what it is.

I've been listening to Nightwish since Tarja's era, heard them all live singing this song, and I must say that all three singers brought something new to it. If I must put it in words, I would say: Tarja sang it like a lover (she makes a perfect match with Marco - in terms of voices - and they sound like two lovers singing this song - they both wonder if their better-half dreams about them); Anette sang it with a really beautiful sad tone (she feels sad that her love is not matched - seems like "he" doesn't even know she exists); Floor sang it from sad to almost "rage" (her voices grows and becomes more powerful with each choir, and she turns her sadness to a scream/cry for "his" attention, she wants "him" to listen to her). It's fascinating how we all associate different voice types to different emotions. To you guys Tarja sounds motherly, where as in my opinion she has more a dark, almost mean, super dramatic voice. I would never call that motherly in a comforting sense, to me she could play the part of an evil queen or a wicked witch of the forest. And don't get me wrong, it's a stunning sound and an amazing effect, there is some true power in it and almost scary beauty in it. But I don't get that sense of comfort. To me Floor's voice, when she sings softly, she has that warm, loving tone that I associate to a motherly voice. The kind of tone that makes me connect with her singing emotionally. I love both singers for different reasons. Tarja for the drama and Floor for the feels. My problem with Tarja is that her voice fit so unbelievably well to some songs but not so much the others. It's either absolutely perfect or not really my thing, but there is no middle ground for me. Floor on the other hand can sing anything really well. She's overall a better fit just because she's so versatile. She's made the songs her own and never seems to make a bad choice. But then there are Tarja songs where I can't imagine anyone ever being able to reach the same level of beauty, like Swanheart. But then again, I haven't heard Floor try, so who am I to say. Anette - I don't really want to say much. Poor Anette, she did the best she could, she was the wrong choice in the first place, her voice just didn't fit the (old) music, and that's not her fault. But she has her moments too, Imaginaerum is a great album with some gems in there and some of Tuomas' best work is on that album, which was written for her voice and her vocal agility made writing those possible. They all excel in such different things that it's incredible they all fronted the same band.

Personally I don't think there is anything wrong with how the two previous singers sang it, but I just don't get emotionally invested in the songs they way I do when floor sings it. With the previous ones I'm just like "yea that's nice" with floor I'll be crying like a baby lol

Hey Wolf, hey Sistah. For me, Floor's voice fits the song better. Not just because of the harmony between her and Marco, but because of what the song itself is about, which is the emotions one goes through when one is in love, romantically, with another person. Given that, Floor's vocals, coupled with Jukka's drumwork, seem to portray the feelings of frustration (Jukka) with desperation (Floor). The song almost seems like the one who is in love, is at the point where if the one they love doesn't return those feelings, then their world will seemingly fall apart. But as you say, that's just my 2 cents, lol.

Anette does a beautiful job with songs like Sleeping Sun and Dead Boys Poem. She brings so much sweetness and innocence to them. 'The Heart Asks Pleasure First' and of course 'Meadows of Heaven' are other great examples. Greetings 🤘🏽

I disagree with the idea of Ever Dream being a "soft" song that has to be sung with a "motherly tone" (that I also do not feel or hear in Tarja's voice btw). For me, Ever Dream is a desperate plea. The ardent confession of a broken heart asking to be loved with the same passion that it's killing it. Ever Dream its the cry of anguish you silence and let it destroy your insides when you see the person you love with somebody else, happy and untouched by your presence or words. Ever Dream is meant to be sung tenderly, yes, but also furiously and hurt. For me, Tarja feels cold. Perfect and beautiful, yes, but cold and unaproachable like a distant star (makes sense she was the person this song was written for and inspired by, as she truly never fully connects with the tide of emotions and feelings behind). Anette, bless her, she sounds too soft and sweet. Like a teen shyly confessing her love to her high school sweetheart. But Floor... Dear Lord. She is the one that makes me feel every emotion behind the lyrics. She is not just a singer, but a story teller. A modern Scherezade. I too met Nightwish thanks to Tarja, and fell in love with the band. They were the musicians that walked with me through my adolescence and definitely changed my taste in music, and after Tarja's departure, for the longest of time thought they had killed the band when chose Anette as their new singer because, as great as their albums with her were (Imaginaerum is for me one of their best albums) I simply couldn't stand her live performances. The music felt slow, low... Dead. I stopped watching their videos for years, until Floor came along. Like many, I rediscovered Nightwish thanks to her GLS version (Not the Wacken one, but the Argentinan, that I believe was the first show and audience that witnessed her now famous epic end), and it blew my mind. I, just as when I was a teen a desperately looked over their songs, found myself googling and searching more info about this new lady and what had happened to the soccer mom they had hired after Tarja. There was no turning back since that day. So, yeah, I get you, Mr. Wolf. You love Tarja because she made you feel something and love the band for the first time, but, for many of us Floor is the one who literally brought back from the death the band we have adored since we were very young. And not only resurrected them, but gve them a new sense for said life. She is Nightwish's savior and, bro, she deserves all our love for that.

I'm always surprised when people don't know Wacken Open Air. for all the people who do not live in Europe (I live in Belgium myself, this is next to Germany) just emphasize that Wacken is the largest Metal open-air festival in the world. Not just a big festival, it is the biggest in this genre of music. I recommend you all to go there. an unforgettable experience. this aside. to me this really feels like a Tarja song. but overall I'm an even bigger Nightwish fan with Floor there.

Longtime NW fan checking in here. I have had the Tarja bias as well. She is a legend, she is phenomenal, and it brings back memories for me too, hearing her. But Floor absolutely wins this for me. Come on, it's really not even close. Those notes at the end that Floor belts out? Please go re-listen to that a few more times. She is unmatched. I have never heard a vocal performance like this before. I almost want to compare Floor's last part with Celine Dion, but imo she outdoes even Celine here. The only section I would say I might have a preference for Tarja is the opening, before the band kicks in. From then on, it's all Floor. I do love Tarja singing style and her unique tone. What Floor brings is not just that raw power and phenomenal vocal capabilities, but she also brings so much emotion, along with versatility and even an improved story-telling in this song (as well as she does in other songs). For example, listen to how Floor finishes the line "For my taste, for my lust" - she puts her own vocal inflection on "for my lust" that the others don't. Tarja, sings great, and it's not a problem for me at all (I can listen to Tarja all day, don't get me wrong). But she does stay within her own style of singing and doesn't diverge from it. Whereas with Floor, you get the classical operatic style, you get the powerful belting, you get the dramatics, the inflections in voice and tone, you get shouting and fierceness. But most of all for me with Floor is that you get so much diversity and a mix of a range of styles from her. And it isn't like she's doing it to show off and show that she's capable of it. To me, she matches the style with what the song calls for perfectly. For me Floor put on an unparalleled vocal CLINIC at Wacken 2013. It's one of the greatest musical performances of all time, across any genre. Again, I love Tarja, I'm an old-school long time fan of the band. But this is no contest. Floor Floor Floor. \m/

Once again Floor takes it and runs with it. She takes this song to a while other level, she adds more emotion then Tarja to me.

I remember rocking out to this on your stream! It's nice to look back on that memory. Especially because my neck was soooo sore the next day :D Each singer has their own approach to the song. Personally, I prefer Floor (mainly because Tarja's too operatic and Anette's too poppy for me) but I understand where you two are coming from. Wolf especially because of his personal journey with Tarja's era of Nightwish.

15:45 About that clean tone of Emppu. I heard other reactors mention it as well. Most guitarists prefer a certain amount of distortion because it'll cover up their mistakes. I'm not a guitar player myself, but apparently it takes a lot of skill and guts to do such a clean tone live because you'll hear every mistake he makes. Which he doesn't ofcourse. :-)

That dramatic delivery, especially at the end,Floor takes it up and gives it more feeling. Floor owns it.

Floor and I have a Tarjia bias as well if it wasn't for Tarjia nightwish wouldn't be who they are. But again if Floor had started with Nightwish would they have recovered with Tarjia? Would they have survived Annette? Sure Thoumas has written well for each one. But I think they would not have survived going from Floor to Tarjia like they did with how it happened.

But there is some doubt that Floor is better! Floor rocks !!! With Floor, Nightwish is now a true symphonic metal group, Everything Floor touches turns to gold

Thank you for the courage to share this video knowing how many opinions it produces about these wonderful singers. Although it’s a song ... of course and personal preferences.Okay ... I also have my own favorite but I just want to say that this band has experienced so many good and bad times over the years that few are the bands that continue after such adversity. It would have been easier to raise your hands and give up. And I'm glad to see how Tarja and Anette goes nowadays. Especially Anette’s moment to step into the band’s singer wasn’t easy.
