A few years ago, our orchestra performed the full concert version by Sibelius at the Nordic Museum in Seattle. You could almost sense the building was overjoyed to hear this.
We love Sweden too, but.. Sverige och Norge finns kvar nuförtiden överhuvudtaget på grund av Finlands överlevningskamp mot Stalin mellan åren 1939-1944. Ärligt sagt tack för oss finnar och Nazi-Tyskland för att man inte pratar ryska i Sverige och Norge som modersmål idag, eller hur Sverige och Norge? Tyvärr skickade ni inte i praktik så mycket hjälp till oss när vi kanske behövde det mest, fast det också gällde er framtid 100%. Finlandia är den bästa låten att påminna om de tiderna när Stalin försökte ta över hela norden men misslyckades rejält. Det som gör mig glad är att också Putin förstår detta och berättar det ärligt till hela ryska folket. Hoppas att ryssarna inte gör samma misstag igen, för jag har gärna annat att göra än att försvara mitt land militäriskt mot idioter. Samma gäller också med Nato. Dem vill vi inte heller ha i vårt land.

This is soone what the swedish speaking finns can sing for the hole nation of Finland. Because we were a nation standing togheter but today we are loosing our faith and holding on without help from our fellow brother in this nation. But my This will bee the athem of the swedish speaking finns fighting for it own right in Finland. Becaus my ancestors did not travell to germany and estonia just to see there coutry shall throw out us. We did fight togheter against the reds and did get a promise of a nation with 2 language. Now we do see the hate of us for out language. We will always do as the swedish speaking finns have done and never surrender.
We don't hate u guys for your language, we don't hate u at all. We hate the fact that by law we have to learn useless language...there's no need for that. If some one wishes to learn the language at free will, then do so, by force nothing works in our glorious country...
I know that not all of you hate us. But after the start of how they are going for the pakkoroutsi alot of swedish speaking finns have got alot of threats on diffrent places. And we do also have the same we do learn finnish when we start in 3 year in school. I think the thing here is that Finns learn to late the swedish language, and that it's to hard to learn in classes of 7 -9 when everything is booring. So this is going both ways we don't even like to learn finnish because we do most of the time go over to Sweden or Norway. But the learning thing is one thing but when people feeling threatning just because of what you speak then it's not good.
Yeah and this is not anything you shall need to excuse for. Because i have alot of Finns that are also saying like you and are in shock when they hear this kind of things. The thing that makes me mad is when i hear this things and know how we also fought in the wars for this nation with the promise of that this nation will have 2 language by law. I think there 3 things that are a big issue here. 1: The language teaching is so bad and booring. They are trying to learn to mutch grammar and don't learn kids how to speak. Because if we know how to speak then they can use it. 2. We are to afraid of speaking both finnish and swedish to eachother because we are afraid of saying something wrong. And we don't care in such things. I know when i speak with my finnish friends they don't care if i say it wrong so long they understand and the same when they try speaking swedish with me. The important thing is to try. 3. Both the media and Perussuomalaiset is making this hate bigger and bigger. And i know that if they don't stop trying this witch hunt it will boil over.
Speaking as a Canadian who married a Finn, I can say these things for certain. They have an amazing culture, the vodka is excellent, the men are really very sexy, and they've got the coolest national anthem of any nation in Europe. I hate to say this on Canada Day, but I like this better than O Canada, and hope that I will not be hunted down, beaten to death with hockey sticks and then skinned for saying so!
@@jeffreychow4655 Wouldn't be a problem, if the Song just tells about Finland accurately, he could be Nigerian or Antarctican. And if the composition was good. Maamme for me sounds a bit too … arrogant, jerky, in the singing melody. Finlandia is just composed more pleasantly, whether is was by someone from Espoo, Muonio, Tartu or Singapore. But I understand the sentiments in Maamme, because the feeling rose in the time of oppression when people wanted to show they are something unique, there's power in us, we're not like them. All national songs have something like that. Why am I now thinking of Borat singink about the wonderful country of Kuzzackstan? Name changed, sort of.

Niin todella pitäisikin. Maamme-laulu on saksalaisen tusinasäveltäjän kyhäämä juosten kustu plagiaatti jostain oluttupajollotuksesta, Finlandia taas Suomen kansallissäveltäjän hienoimpia teoksia. Ei ole kahta sanaa, kumpi näistä olisi parempi Suomen kansallishymniksi. Eihän Maamme-laulu edes vittu ole mikään "hymni". Mutta kun jääkiakkourpot suuttuisivat, jos eivät pääsisikään enää ölisemään epävireisesti ainoaa kappaletta, jota koskaan ovat "laulaneet".
Eikä toki millään synallakaan soiteta kyseistä kappaletta.. Tosin Tuomas nyt on onnistunut saamaan kokonaisia albumeita pilattua sillä, että että kaikki kuulostaa synalta; mutta tää kappale nyt ei oo hänen; joten ei hyvä!..
