Everything about this performance is absolute FIRE 🔥 I have always loved Anette’s energy, all her little clever runs and down scale melody lines. To the person who gave her the finger I say: SHAME🤦🏽♀️ You should be ashamed of yourself!
The problem with Anette is that these "clever little runs" poppify Nightwish music. They don't fit and take away all that is special about it. If I want that I will go to Mariah Carey, or some other standard popsinger
Man what a way to ruin Anette’s awesome “we’re happy to be in Montreal with you guys” moment with that twat who got up and gave her the double bird. She shrugged it off but you could tell Marko was plenty pissed. It’s at 23:39, everybody in the band probably saw that utter sign of disrespect. For what it’s worth, Anette is my favorite Nightwish singer and both albums she sang on are at or near the top of their catalog.
He did something wrong, yet so did the fans in the surrounding area by not punching him in the nose lol. Anette just kept doing what she was hired for though, and the other 99.9 % truly enjoyed that.
Absolutely. Ok she could not do the Tarja operatics, but she took a lot more to the Nightwish party than ‘Tarja diehards’ give her credit for, and her legacy is the best Nightwish album, imaginaerum.
@@brianwillson9567Annette did a great job, with her "little girl" voice. She's better than "Too tall" Floors hardwood. No one can sing the Tarja catalog. It's not a question "if" the original band will be reunited, it's when?.
Anette can do mixed voice / classical vocals, pfff, it’s easy to sing in mixed voice, anyone can sing classical style, it’s the easiest way of singing, and she did that mixed voice bit in Sahara and in GLS and in some Italian operatic song that she sang - it was a choice not to use classical vocals because they never really wanted classical vocals in Nightwish, but they had to go with classical vocals at first because there was no other singer available at the time, that could sing in chest voice, which is the real voice, and Anette has one of the highest voices ever, so she could do the higher notes like F5 and G5 and G#5 in chest voice, that most singers can only do in mixed voice, and it would have been better if they could have recorded all the Nightwish albums with Anette singing them, because she has a pretty voice that is hígh and light and bright, and such voices aren’t easy to find!
Ok, notWacken 2013, but I really enjoyed that. That was a good Annette concert. Tarja diehards accept nothing post Tarja. Some others think Annette merely kept Tarja’s seat warm waiting Floor. I fully believe that Annette brought a lot to the Nightwish party, and, in Imaginaerum, left the best Nightwish album.
You can find it boring, that's your opinion. You can't say IT IS boring, because obvious it's not to millions of people. Give me good arguments or resources for bringing creations of other musisans please. Interesting. @@Moonlight_shine7
lol what does Wacken 2013 have to do with it? Floor fans are no different from Tarja fans: they constantly compare Anette to their idols, and of course Anette always loses
I really miss her. It was my favourite nightwish era even when I adore classical singing over everything. She was a real good interpreter and adorable. Also the band; They look the happiest since Wishmaster tour.
Watching this concert 3 times in a row, inspecting all members and their energy - and then i played a nowadays-concert. Tear was shed... they look paused nowadays. 😢
To me,NW ended without Anette.I"ve listened to the 2 albums after and checked some clips but I just can't get into anything after,it's terrific for those who can, vocal coaches, people who enjoy absolute crap, etc but w/o Tarja or Anette,I'm not a fan.
@@ericrobertson2024 Strangely enough, I can agree with your sentiments. Their last good album was indeed Imaginaerum. There are some "good" tracks afterwards, like The Greatest Show on Earth, Shoemaker and Pan, but they are so few compared to previous albums. And I do find Floor lacking on the vocals like she is bored or something.
@@michaelvedal1907 I listened and it's just a numbing or boredom response...I wouldn't even compare Floor to the 3rd Van Halen vocalist Cherone, because I liked 1/2 the songs on VH3...While I think Tuomas seems incapable of writing good songs in recent times, it's really just me disliking the sound of Jansen's voice..not her range or persona,it's just to me,a horrible downward spiral. The most recent one is somehow worse than the previous..I like the voices of Tarja,Anette,Marco,Troy,Wilska,Kakko...I dislike the voices of Tuomas,Floor and 2 Hawkes ,although Tarja and also Anette in the 3 live versions I added to my YT playlist make Creek an excellent tune..NW 1998-2012 were a great band for sure.
Nightwish were a great band from 1998-2012.Its terrific for those who can enjoy these 2 latest cds and the recent tours, but I just hear nothing to enjoy..The excitement level is very indicative of the quality, and honestly I'm not sure Tuomas can even pretend these more recent studio and live outings are up to par.
Have to say that a lot of live video clips available of Anette don't really do her justice, but I really enjoyed this. Great crowd and a great performance..
Nice to see this after watching all the Tarja and Floor concerts. She doesn't have the range to sing the Tarja songs, like Floor does, but fun to watch her sing her songs, Thanks for posting this concert.
Não adianta falar agora que a Anette canta bem se quando ela eatava na banda todos a escurraçavam, o que é uma pena pq ela tinha e ainda tem o seu valor.
Annette really struggled in Dark chest of wonders. Thank God they never attempted Wishmaster. Annette is at her best with the songs from the Dark Passion play. Sahara is a great tune. Sleeping Sun sounded ridiculous. They never should of made her sing this song. Nightwish should of performed the whole Dark Passion Passion play album. And walked off the stage. Meadows of Heaven, will be Annette at her best with Nightwish. They did make her sing Wishmaster? Stupid decision. Words cannot define how terrible it sounded.
@@monicacarolina6480 No one can sing the Tarja catalog(that includes "Too tall Harwood Floors) If Julie Andrews wasn't 85 years old and hadn't lost her voice, she could easily sing the Tarja catalog. Two young ladies that have a "Tarja" style voice could do it, Charlotte Church and Jackie Evachio, neither have sung rock oriented music.
No hate. But honestly all three vocalists specialize different albums..this performance didn’t fulfill Nightwish energy in my opinion in comparison to others. Annette’s vocals were amazing in her version of imagenaerum as it gives a earie like tonality. Her vocal range is pop like so it fits certain songs such as Sahara, scaretale, I want my tears back etc. While Tarja in century child and ONCE and Floor is top tier in vehicle of spirit.. just in general I love them all but I agree I’m glad they made the switch. Floor is the strongest as she reaches a middle point between Tarjas operatics and Annette’s pop.
@@Designsrose Nightwish was in their prime from 1995-2006 it's been a disintegration since then. Floors "too tall" Jensen is a third stringer very average voice. The band is finished. Hopefully the original band reforms.
Annette is good-looking (face) full of enthusiasm (part of it was deposited in the waist area), but then she still tried, in other words, gave out the maximum, but still she was not enough for the whole concert and she sometimes sang past the notes, but she is sympathetic to me, including as a singer, and we must be grateful to her for helping the group not to drown in oblivion, helping to hold out until the arrival of a miracle called Wacken Open 2013, until Floor appeared there.
Goodness what a ramble of incoherent bullshit. Seriously? Lay off the meds and go back to videos of the over-tattooed "miracle" of yours. Perhaps that will suit you better.

I don't know how long I've waited for a recording from the Montreal performance. It was so good but there were any High Quality footage. Thank you so much! (Also, 1:15:25 her best at Slaying The Dreamer, I like the energy, totally different from the original, it feels more angry, I like it!)
For those who say Anette was never a fit for nightwish. Just remember Tuomas has a genius touch and I could bet he wanted to move on from The sound they had with Tarja. And I wasn't accepting that back then but oh my goodness! I heard the albums with Anette and they are truly something else, beautifully powerful and unique. The whole pieces on each album are great and there is a variety that we did not have with Tarja and a richness and uniqueness that Floor can not emulate. It came a time for me to accept that nobody will replace neither of them. they are different human beings, different voices and each of them is unique and beautiful in her own way. There are so many female voices in the metal industry so many sound repetitive and generic and that is something that will never happen to nightwish in any of their stages. Anette is so unique and distinctive that I am now invested in learning more about her single career and I am so truly pleased listening her new songs. I am so happy to know I grew up and that I won't be like many stoneminded nightwish fans that never move on from fighting other fans over silly and unnecessary things. Keep shinning Anette!
Did someone in the comments compare her to Blaze Bailey.lmao...I don't think Maiden enjoyed their most successful era with their 2 most successful albums during the Blaze timeframe lol..Anette could actually be compared more to Brian Johnson or Sammy Hagar.
@@MetalPersonJ Floor = Cherone...Well idk,I like 1/2 of the VH 3 album and I like absolutely nothing on the 2 most recent NW albums...Not sure there's much grit within Angels or Once, but the other 3 with Tarja have grit.I think of Anette as more gritty than Tarja though..I love all the NW from 1998-2011 regardless,Anette is my favorite for now,but I could like Tarja more when I relisten to her era.
In the sense that she wasn't a clone of Tarja's abilities as Baley wasn't a clone of dickinson. And she faced the same problems with older material live in a degree. So I think it is a fair parallel, excluding the two nightwish albums vs the maiden ones. And even those had some good songs.
Anette is just like Blaze Bayley in Iron Maiden. Good singer, yeah, but she was no fit for Nightwish at all. In studio you could even cover it, but live it was just in your face, she just sounds totally out of tune, struggling with high notes and honestly makes me cringe sometimes. Ive been enjoying Anette's solo material much more ☕
While I agree that the material she has done after she was forced out of Nightwish is good, the best was created while she was in the band. Nothing she has been involved in for the last 10 years even comes close to The Poet and the Pendulum and the likes of it. As for Anette live.. sigh.. I was attending more concerts on the DPP and Imaginaerum Tour than was healthy I am sure, and one thing I never once witnessed, was a show with a lackluster performance. Yes, sometimes her voice was damaged, like with Floor now, but that is normal when you do a show every other night for months on end. Saying she was bad because her voice couldn't take the beating is bullshit. Have a talk with Floor Jansen about that please.. since they never did it again after Imaginaerum. Always lots of breaks, always days between concerts, etc. Pretty sure Miss Jansen made sure to have a clause about that in her contract, since two singers before her was canned over this exact thing. But no, never bad energy, always enthusiastic audiences. Sing-a-longs, cheering and overall Nightwish energy at every single one.. except Vegas... we don't talk about Vegas. Other than that, nothing. And she was actually perfect for the band. Saying she didn't belong.. lol.. who the fuck are you to decide that? The band disagrees with you, same as millions of fans. Besides, they did much better music with her in the band than with the perfect Floor Jansen.
@@rhuanlima4916 Really? You are telling me that you think that the two latest albums are better than DPP and Imaginaerum? Perhaps I am not the one that is high here.. lol.. Whatever.
@@rhuanlima4916 "Her voice was never an issue" - Tuomas Holopainen. Also: "I don't think anyone can sing the songs on Dark Passion Play or Imaginaerum better than Anette Olzon" - Tuomas Holopainen Perhaps that enlightens you as to what the band thinks of her performance with the band. But sure.. a keyboard warrior on RU-vid knows better than the band themselves. Wow, isn't that a very Floor Jansen diehard fan thing to do.. lol.. you are so pathetic.
