This is one of them most atmospheric Nightwish songs:) Also yes, a lot of people reacting to this song are surprised by that one vocal part because Tarja at that time was mostly known for her operatic singing. Here she shows that she can switch between three different styles really well -- the operatic, the softer silky-smooth voice and then the chanting part that comes close to belting, I believe. Some people call her a one-trick pony, but she's really not. And she's grown a lot as a singer since her departure from the band. I'm glad you enjoyed this song! *Slaying The Dreamer (DVD End Of An Era)* is another amazing one with Marko and Tarja, very heavy, and Tarja shows again that she doesn't always sing operatic, but when she does, it's really really good. ;)

Marko joined in early 2000. 2nd bassist. 1st full time male vocalist. clasically trained himself. Now Tarja is described as opreratic. very close. A bit inside baseball but, her style is German Lied (leed) singing. Definitions vary but you nailed the point yourself. Her voice swings high and low with the music but has its pocket where you can hear her over the instruments. Developed for the music stage before anplification. She is a mezzo soprano with a 3.5 octave range and beautiful chest voice. 19 solo albums to her name she is supremaly talented. And if you react to 2016 Woodtock (no relation) Poland, and the Muse cover you will find out she is very much a soprano to blow your socks off. This line up was together 4 years. She was fired. it was public and ugly. They aplogized. Relations are polit,civil but chilled. Now Mako made up with Tarja Xmas 2017 at a Finnish national tv concert. As someone said they shared concert dates in South, Central America, Mexico and now Europe. They are close friends and love sharing the atage with eachother,and it shows. only problem with this song. We wish it were longer. This song is the 1st costume change of 5 during the night. I think she just took off the yellow Dress/Coat combo. She takes a break to change again. The whole show is on both NW official page and Tarja Turunen HD channel. I think you can see why the band and Tarja were and are loved. PS ignore fans who stir up trouble. Floor met NW in 2002 when her band After Forever was chosen to open for them in Europe that sumner. Tarja had Floor as a guest in stage as her dear friend and publicly blessed Floor and called in the audience to offfer no hate just love. Tarja and Floor are still dear friends to this day. Do not know the story behind song, is there's one. But journey this really is, if what I see or feel would be connection the ancient legend of Odysseus. Sirens sing on sea and sailors got seduced which led to a disaster. So, was there idea that them tied hands on wheel of the ship so they could not take rough turn towards the singin sirens. Maybe I'm wrong track, but thats what I see on my mind. And that Zodiac turns over me, such nice image you might see on night darkness above you, that string of planets. Well, worng or what, one my favourite imaginary songs this is.
