This, Sleeping Sun, Nemo, Swanheart, Pharoah, End of All Hope, Everdream, Wishmaster, Bless the Child, Slaying the Dreamer, Dead to The World, Stargazers, Gethsemene, Sacrament of Wilderness, She is My Sin and FantasMic too. I also like Tarja's Ghost Love Score more (come at me Floor fans), the chorus didn't have to be gutted just to hear her.

Again you managed to find a great live performance where Tarja had outstanding vocals! loved how she focused so deeply into the vocals whole song instead of jumping around, like she often does. Of course when she jumps around going crazy, she is reacting to the music more and having more fun, and there is its own value to that, especially for people watching this live. Still, it can't be denied it does cut into her vocal performance quite a bit. When she is standing relatively still and focusing on her vocals 100% while performing with her hands, facial expressions and eyes, I think she is at her most captivating, like a true siren. For example that small gesture with her eyes and hand she does at the start of Phantom of the Opera at 0.53 of that live video I guess, what I want to say, is that more is not always better, even Floor doesn't actually move/jump around that much, yet no one can take their eyes of her when she is on the stage

Also, the fact that she had a flu during that concert, End of An Era. She sounded a little raspy and breathy during Nemo, Wish I Had An Angel and again during Ghost Love Score. I wonder how much higher her vocals could've reached.

I was a Nightwish fan back in the Tarja days and again in the Floor era and even though Floor can sing most songs better I have to say this is best sung by Tarja. I don't think anyone could sing it better.

@@KristinKali :) Masto means Mast. Salo means woods, or wood - the place where the trees grow, not the material. Tim & Timo you might guess where they come from, same source. So Tim Ea- uhm, Mastwood is my name in English. Many Finnish names won't translate that easy, ours happens to just do that. Yeah, I've worked with languages, I tend slip to that direction also in these comments.

Nightwish: all the names with j, say them as y: Tarja ('Taryah' compare Daria), Floor Jansen (Yunsen/Yonsen -American way) & Jukka ('Yook-kah'). The rule is East France, this is how Europe says it. That's actually the original way, like English joke is dialectally yoke

@@KristinKali Not superbad, still understandable - and expectable for an English speaker. Nothing wrong really. Just thought to tell those tips, if you want to know how to say them by now :) What's comforting in the tough Finnish names, is that the spelling is VERY systematic: every letter has (basically) the same value in every position of a word - just not always as in English. Only ng the main exception, but: it's like the ng in song, or singer, not like finger. Plus what's written double is said long. Stress is always in the beginning, and additional stress can be given every second syllable, some endings change that place a bit - like: 'HACkleBerry' - a very Finnish berry.

In my experience Daria with T gives (Tar-i-a) English speakers the closest pronunciation

@@Songfugel Yeah, but Daria is the Greek name where Tarja is a Finnish version. And like in Maria - Marja, the i & j (Engl. y) sound very close in this context, if not Mari(ii)ja, like in some dialects :) Think I've heard Daria in English also more like 'Darya'. The old names where often taken more by hearing than reading, so guess that's why not Taria. Besides - there are much less names or other wordsending with ...ria, ...nia, ...lia etc. - than in ... rja, ...nja, ...lja. Seems like that just felt more natural for the Finns in the old times.

hi Kristin ! in the initial stages of this video you were attempting to pronounce the name in the comments section. it is written in cyrilic ,most likely russian, and it is Anna Parkomenko. at any rate , the problem with this song is that the spotlight is taken by Marco. while i like his supporting vocals i am tuning in largely to hear Tarja's beguiling voice.

I know very few cases where a change of leader vocalist did not lead to a catastrophic decline in the sound quality of the band ("AC/DC"-Bon Scott>>Brian Johnson, "Jinjer"-Max Fatullaev>>Tatiana Shmailyuk, "Arch Enemy"-Angela Gossow>>Alissa White-Gluz and some more). But more often than not, the vocalist is absolutely indispensable and with his departure the band turns into a dull something, into a miserable bododie of former magnificence ... This is exactly what happened, for example, with the "Agonist" band, when the current lead singer of "Arch Enemy" Alissa White-Gluz left it. And this is exactly what happened with "Nightwish" - with the departure of Tarja Turunen the band turned into an absolute likeness of thousands of other symphonic bands and lost its uniqueness and originality!

Well written. It was such a tragedy that Tarja go fired. It is to bad she was so stuck on herself that she never rode the bus with the rest of the band, nor really ever rehearsed with them, and all the issues with her husband, never wanting to tour the United States, etc. The only problem with Nighwish now is they sound 100 times better now without her and are much happier without all her baggage.

Sure, Tarja brought a unique sound to Nightwish. But she was not the mastermind of that band. Tuomas was, and still is. According to Tarja herself, she was not interested in metal music at all before her time with Nightwish. After her departure from the band, she consistently sang Nightwish songs, and even stuck with the genera in her solo career. Nightwish, on the other hand, kept growing without her. Tarja and Nightwish both profited from their combination. But in the end, Nightwish could (somewhat, atleast) replace Tarja. Tarja could not replace Nightwish.

In my opinion, everything is exactly the opposite: Nightwish lost itself with Floor Jansen, and in the solo project Tarja became only even better. How many people - so many tastes, how many people - so many opinions. I only expressed my opinion, but in no way wanted to impose it on someone.

@@barkingwolff Yes, this is your opinion, and I respect it. I have no interest in fighting over the vocalist drama. Nightwish changed, yes. The Tarja era is still my favourite. Century Child is my favourite Nightwish album. But I don't think Nightwish "lost themselves" when Tarja left. They came to a point where working together was no longer an option. And then you have to do the painful thing to save the band. I still think Tarja is a great singer, but without Nightwish, she is not something special to me. She was the queen of metal. With Nightwish. Do I wish Tarja had chosen to stay with the band? Of course I do. However, I no longer miss her. But this is just my opinion 😊

Actually Floor did this song very beautifully. I think better. It would be nice to see what you think. The band created a live video with Floor singing this. I like Tarja but her accent is thicker than Floor so I like her better
