Definitely going to get these. I'm an older head, so I remember when they released. Really wanted a pair, but I was way too broke at the time. Missed out on the 2017 release, but definitely not missing out now.

In the top 5 of all air max period! These are beautiful and classic. ‘97 my hs grad year I was one of the first people in my school to have them and they broke necks! I finally won a raffle for them so I’m excited to grab them for retail on Friday!
Nice and I know how it feels and broke many new shoes before everyone caught wind of. I’m a older head and back in 97, I had the silver - the gold - the blue and silver that got also a lot of attention when they came out like a year later and remember they came out after the silver and gold. Not saying I them first, but I made sure I got me a pair or 3. Lol! Anyway, it seem better back in the days to have new sneakers bc back then there wasn’t that many into new sneaker and most were not in the sneaker game and wore the same 2 old pairs and was happy about it. Meaning back then when you had new sneaks, heads would turn bc most had never seen them before, so you def got more attention back then and see jaws dropping.
Had these in the 10th grade and they were the most expensive shoes out besides the Penney’s. Was heart broken when I popped the air bubble climbing a fence smh
Nice review and glad they busted these back out! The only thing I see different on the new version is the back pull tag is shorter and don’t go all the way down. So now you can spot the 2022 from the older models.
I'm glad you did a video on this new retro because there's not that much coverage of these on RU-vid. I pulled out my unworn pair from 2017 and they're super cloudy in the air bubble unfortunately.
Yeah and I noticed that with the shorter pull tab. But didn’t know the shorter one is from the OG 97 pair. I think the shoes look better with the shorter pull tab.

Got my pair on the way ! Was there in 97, not wearing the silver bullets though. Now it my time... A hard shoe for a hard time... Great review TonyD. Always enjoy your vibe...big shout from the UK
Had these the first time around, wore them with some crazy combos..😂 think I wore them with a suit!!! 😅 I would argue these shoes were the first design that allowed the wearer to hit more formal smarter wear along with trainers. Mine are on the way !!!
I have the 2017 pair. Store them away even though I wore them/cleaned them. It will get darker/tint of yellow within time. Beautiful shoe. Wish the yellowing would slow down more.
The main difference is the creases on the toe box area that's why I got rid of my 2017 pair it looks like the newer pair doesn't have creases in the toe box.

how do they feel on feet compared to 2017 ones? got 2017 ones, but most likely getting the newer pair as some beaters since I took really good care of my 2017 ones and had a lot of good memories with them so I wanna frame them.
The 2018 pair were stiff like rocks. Very uncomfortable. That's an opinion shared by many, not just myself. These appear to be just the same so I think I'll pass. Dope looking shoe though !!!!
Am I the only one who noticed the external seam compared to the old model? All Airmax 97 have only one seam, this one has both inside and outside, can you explain?
For the 2017 pair I went with my standard which is a full size (for me) cause Air max's are narrow for my wide feet. Just stick with your normal air max shoe size or try em on in the store I haven't heard much static about these flying off the shelves.
