I've only tried the Air Zoom Victory and have some notable points on the shoe. It's an amazing spike, especially for me since I did the 800m and 1600m events. It's super responsive and yes, springy. It actually makes a funny popping noise as you run. However, durability is atrocious on these. It's quite literally like a supercar; they have great performance but don't last long. If you're looking for a more durable spike that's good all around, the Dragonfly seems like the best option. Just my thoughts.
@@jamie_robertson3114 I wanna say about 2 months of workouts where I'd spike up for the final rep or two and 4 races(1K, 2 1600s, and an 800). When I was spiking up for an 800 one day I noticed a hole in the side, likely from my previous races and workouts as well as the spike plate beginning to separate.
I have tried both the dragonfly and the victory for track this season. I like the dragon for mile and longer because of the cushion and less agressive. For the 800 I tried the victory’s twice and ran 2:05 both times because my legs had nothing left with 200 to go. I then tried dragons in the 800 and ran 2:03 and then 2:00 and had really good kicks and my legs felt really good so I think for my running style I like the dragons cause they less agressive and save my legs for latter part of race
I think Nike made a design flaw with the victories with the bottom plate separating from the foam after only a few workouts and meets. They only last a season before it became defective for me at least
I love my dragonfly’s tbh did me well this season and felt faster. Note I’m very new to track and field and haven’t really used spikes but when I started using the dragonfly I fell in love with them.
I have questions: Nike dragonfly spikes size is true size with shoes? For example I have nike rival distance , the size of rival is small . My running spikes from adidas is 8US 26cm. There is no free spaces. It is right size. Soo which size I will be buy from dragon fly? 8.US or 8.5US
I just bought the victories for my upcoming xc season because they were on sale. They haven’t arrived yet and I don’t have many other options that I can find in my size except for the $65 Nike xc ones (forget what they are called). Do you think they will be fine for my xc season?
I’ve got a 100m race in 3 days and just ordered the dragonfly’s. Do you think I’m ok or need to get a different pair? I’ve researched all over for the best sprint spike and can’t find a good recommended shoe. I hope I havnt gone wrong with the dragonfly.
For someone running 400m-3000m who owns the dragonflies, would you recommend also getting the victories? Perhaps racing in the vics and training in the dragonflies since they are more protective?
i like the dragonflies for any distance 800m and up. if the 400m is one of your primary events, i would recommend getting the nike air zoom Maxfly to race in (i've heard great things about them). i personally don't think the victories would be a good investment but having the dragonflies and the mayflies to race in would be good!
@@runnershigh. The Mayfly looks better than the Victory for the 800 as well. Many to runners like MU from the States uses it for the 800. Looks like the victory has no place unfortunately
Are the zoom victory good for 400m/ 400m hurdles? I always use sprint spikes but my feet hurt a lot and I'm thinking maybe these are less agressive for me
yes you could use the air zoom victories for the 400m/409m hurdles but nike made the air zoom maxflys for those events. the maxflys are similar to the air zoom victories but they are more tailored towards sprint events
Yo same with the size part, always been a 11 until I bought the dragonfly, do you think it’s worth it to have both? I specialize in the 2 mile but I often run 800s and mile and don’t have a specific pair of spikes for the 800 and use the dragonfly for that race and they feel too squishy for it. I’m not sure if I want to buy the zoom air victory. I’m also racing in college next year and could use them for more years, do you think it’s worth it to buy them for the mile and 800 and keep the dragonfly for two mile and 5k next year?
i think if you’re racing range is 800-5k it would be worth it to buy both. also having both would make it so you don’t wear down your dragonfly spikes too much. if you do get the Air Zoom Victory make sure to buy a 1/2 size down
This is pretty late but I was wondering which spike I should get if I’m running the 1k and the mile this coming indoor season. I heard that the victory’s are not very durable and the zoomx foam would separate from the bottom plate. Is this true?
Ordered the dragonfly’s lastnight after watching the review. Appreciate the advice. Check 14u junior olympics 3000m results for performance feedback in august 👊🏼💥
Wouldn’t a completely different XC styled shoe be better for XC? Since I know dragonflies are meant for track, UNLESS you replace the track spikes on the dragonfly with XC ones.
i run 400 and 800 meters i'm recovering from a feet injury and i need a comfortable shoe that supports my front part of the feet would you recommend me the victories or the dragonflies?
i’d recommend the dragonfly for you. normally for those distances i’d recommend the victories, but the dragonfly spike offers more support for the forefoot
i don't think so. the airbags were the first thing that deteriorated on my pair but if you're a heel striker that means you're not putting as much wear on the airbags as if you were a forefoot striker
@@runnershigh. yea the heels on mine started peeling off until it was missing like an half an inch of cushion over two months of maybe once to twice a week for a 800m or 1600m of volume
I bought the Air zoom victory's since I mostly run the 800m and 1500m. Lately I've started to run longer distance like 3000m and 5000m. Do you recommend buying the dragonfly for this or do you think the victory's are fine enough?
i’d say invest in a pair of dragonfly’s for the longer distances. the victory’s are good but the dragonfly are better for longer distances and worth the investment. also if you’re rotating between two pairs of spikes that’ll keep both pairs fresher because you’re putting less miles on them
definitely the dragonflys. i raced my whole cross country season in them and they were great. the air zoom victories would probably be too unstable for cross country terrain
Size 10.5 & 5 ounces could be expanded for the international viewers such as myself by saying "In my Mens size 10.5 US the Dragonfly weighs 5 ounces, which is x in grams". It adds a bit of clarity if it's done this way. Great review.
