Transcript Greatness It's just something we made up Somehow we've come to believe that greatness is a gift Reserved for a chosen few For prodigies For superstars And the rest of us can only stand by watching You can forget that Greatness is not some rare DNA strand It's not some precious thing Greatness is not more unique to us than breathing We're all capable of it All of us Some people are told they were born with greatness Some people tell themselves If greatness doesn't come knocking at your door Maybe you should go knock on its door Sometimes greatness is about overcoming insurmountable adversity Sometimes is just fun Greatness isn't always measured in tenths of a point It's a bit bigger than that Sometimes greatness is something you plan But most of the time is just something you try Is easy to think greatness is something you see on TV Unless of course, greatness is watching TV Greatness is a scary thing Until it isn't If we think greatness is supposed to look a certain way, act a certain way and play a certain way We certainly need to rethink some things Is it speed or endurance? Does it happen in two hours or for or six? Is it finishing strong? Or barely finishing? Yes Is greatness worth fighting for? What do you think? If we face our fears It means we're pointed in the right direction Even if that direction is upside down It's not the biggest stadium in the world Not the biggest players either But the pursuit of greatness is kinda big enough, isn't it? You don't need an official court An official net Or official uniforms To be officially great Greatness speaks for itself Once it learns to talk Greatness needs a lot of things But it doesn't need an audience Some measure greatness in precious metals Like iron Greatness is not born It's made If you try to tell the guy with the sword he's not great because he's not famous Be my guest There are no grand celebrations here No speeches No bright lights But there are great athletes Somehow we've come to believe that greatness is reserved for the chosen few For the superstars The truth is Greatness is for all of us This is not about lowering expectations It's about raising them for every last one of us Because greatness is not in one special place And it's not in one special person Greatness is wherever somebody is trying to find it.
@mr system some pretty strong assumptions coming from a guy that seems to be a hater. Just because you're not satisfied with yourself, doesn't mean you should knock others down. bum
Probably because all the other (mostly) are already something like pro athlete league people, u can’t relate to them they are like finished product, you are just seeing the skill they have, first guy is more relatable to most of us
The first one hit me on a personal level. I went from 330 to 158 by doing exactly what he was doing. Doesn’t matter how slow you are at first, we all have to start somewhere.
Nie they are promoting extremely obese women and saying THAT is greatness. I hope someone finally will ban that extremely toxic esg score. It corrupts everything
The kid in the first clip running always inspired me. I tried to find out how he's doing today, but it was hard. Apparently after the commercial aired he dropped over 30 pounds. I'm genuinely proud of him.
I know this commercial itself is a device of marketing, but I should admit myself that every single words inspires me to make a greatness in my life! it's astonishing!
Because at least someone thought as far as he would. He kept thinking about questions not the typical response he rejected the typical thought and thought about the nature of the "greatness"
If you mention marketing this way, it’s because you don’t know what it is, marketing is not just about advertising but about creating a bond with the costumer and giving them a true value.
Each time someone interacts with this comment or when I get reminded of this campaign, I'll come back here to remind myself that greatness is not in one special person. Greatness is wherever somebody is trying to find it
@Gohan you must have never been heavily obese if you can’t call what that first kid did as equally impressive. For some, even walking at a size like that is absolutely exhausting and even painful, the fact that he was moving as fast as he was is incredible, especially if he hadn’t been doing any exercise previously.
Yeah.. but its funny.. when the kid throws the ball he has the glove on the left hand, but when he "caught" the ball the glove is on the other hand.. and has to switch the glove..
I always hated that shit. I'm fat. Fuck it. I'm FAT. But I AM NOT FAT. And as I say this I'm doing my second half marathon tomorrow. I'm still fat. But I'm not where I was. Fuck being fat.
@@s.s5933 For sure just very anti body acceptance. We got to strive higher not get complacent. I've actually accepted my limitations after I started running. I know what I'm capable of withstanding. I don't think I'd have the confidence to keep going higher if I had people telling me to accept my reality and to start loving my imperfections. Imperfections are meant to be worked on. My jeans agree with that assessment at least lol.
"Greatness is not some rare DNA strand It's not some precious thing Greatness is not more unique to us than breathing We're all capable of it All of us" The most motivating lines. Love from India.
I used to be 296 until i made the choice and effort to change. i lost 118 lbs in approximately 8 months, stuff like this and the realization that you are in control of your life has brought me further than what was previously thought possible. For all out there on a mission of bettering themselves in any way, just go for it. the feelings of laziness and anything that derails you is just your old sub-self trying to take control. you got this, you are bigger than you could possibly imagine.
it's fortunate that you lost weight when you did. most fat people don't make it past being a teenager. they just get eaten by even fatter people. that's how the cycle of fatness works
I wouldn't call this an ad. Id call it an inspirational video sponsored by Nike, and this honestly amazing content. There should be more commercials like this.
lol you're gonna need to buy from somewhere. It doesn't have to be from nike. Those fresh kicks at the dollar store really look like they have g8 ankle support
I have this slogan... "Find your greatness" in my classroom. I teach history to high school students. I show this video as part of my first day lesson. It gives me goosebumps every time!!!!
I came across this video probably 4 years ago and it helped me wake up everyday to run and finally complete my first 14km charity run. With someone who couldn't run more than a km, this was one of my best achievements. Now, over the 4 years, I still keep coming back to watch this and Ive watched it over a few dozen times. Thank you for this, it has helped.
I love these, especially the first two. What I'm finding really intersting about it is you don't see a nike anything in sight. When I saw the kid pitching the ball..it made me want to cry. It's beautiful and moving and...I can't even find the right words to express how it made me feel.
The first guy reminds me of a motto I saw a long time ago, that really struck a nerve: "No matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone on the couch" Those are great ads, thank you. It's easy to compare ourselves to world famous people, we see them everyday on screens. But that's not the only greatness, and greatness doesn't need an audience. Thank you for reminding me.
A year ago, I started running after seeing this ad. I used to have trouble running even 2 km, but now I can run 10 km in 50 minutes. I think of that boy who runs until the end even though it is very difficult.
I agree with you, I am supposed to write a comparative essay draft, meanwhile all l I can think about while watching this ad; are its advertisement tactics.
Best commercial ever made no speeches just an reality..every time i feel like givingup i just watch thise video its gave me inner courage to be back in game..but im not an bodybuilder or an incridble player ..just a boy finding his greatness in what i do..💚🌻😘
I can say my son since he could play football and played many other sports he has. Told me mom you always had the words Just Do It right ar the door as i walked out i always remember that those words where what gave me motivation and to be my greatness. He is now 34 and i have never been so proud of hem. I love being his cheerleader at the Ironman events and marathons. He is now trying to qualify to run the Boston Marathon. I know he has found his Greatness. Thank you Nike i love you son ❤️❤️
beautiful and poetic made me cry love it really touching everyone has greatness within himself set goals and achieve them on your own lane and at your own pace sending best wishes and love to everybody on their different journeys in life one love from Venezuela!!!!!
Whoever is reading this right now… we will probably never meet but I wish you all the best in your life! Some things could be very problematic due to the current situation, but keep fighting for your goals and dreams! You can do anything you want! Have a nice day!❤️
Oh my gosh! 👏👏👏One of the most beautiful Sports Brand's Ads I've ever watched! I haven't watched it on television and, sadly for sure, we will not see ADs like this anymore due all these skipping screen behaviour of new social media consumers
This is an interesting way Adidas is heading: "Adidas, the German maker of sportswear and equipment, has announced it will start marketing its first series of shoes manufactured by robots in Germany from 2017."
