@TR Danny you do realise he ran 2:00:23 with a TON of help? He still couldn't do it. Edit: well guess I really underestimated him. He truly is the best rummer in my eyes, bless him
My best 5k is 45 minutes-ish. I'm 62. Started "running" less than a year ago. I'm trying to improve my fitness/respiration after enduring pneumonia twice (once was double pneumonia) and bronchitis 3 times. This was all within a bit longer than a years period of time. 5 years ago, due to these illnesses, my lungs were destroyed (allow the hyperbole) I still can't run the entire 3.1. I still can't run a mile. I can't even run a 1/2 mile without feeling like I'm drowning and my lungs are going to explode. It's very frustrating. When I go out to Bear Creek Park, a 2.1 loop, I start with a 4 minute warm up and then run for 45 seconds and walk for 2 minutes. The goal is to eventually be able to run the 2.1. Which would lead to being able to run an entire 3.1. In December I'm running a half-marathon in Dallas, TX. I want to run the entire course. No run/walking for me in December.
At age 67 my favorite part of a marathon or ultra is when a much younger runners asks somewhere around mile 23 or mile 31; “ so how old are you if you don’t mind my asking?” - makes it all worthwhile 😁🏃♂️🏃♂️
In 1989 I was diagnosed with tumors in my left hip my running career ended. In 2012 I could barely walk they had to removed the tumors along with a total hip replacement. 2013 I began my personal therapy on I started doing running drills in the pool and using a stationary bike. 2014 I walked, waddle, jog, and ran in 5k's. 2015 I joined Crunch gym and started training for San Antonio Rock 'n' Roll half-marathon I ran it in 2:40 minutes. 2019 is going to be my 3rd half-marathon and 90% of my training is at the gym using the stationary bike and treadmill I only run one day outdoors. I want to thank my family and friends for their prayers and God for giving me a second in enjoy this sport that many people don't enjoy. You have to simply "Believe!"
I just ran a 10.5km in 41min 20sec. After 5 day on the TT bike doing 230km total of Sprint ride with 33lymph average speeds. Today run was a week from my last 10km run, which was faster,41min flat. When I started running I'll be lucky to run 10km in a hour. I'm 45 years old and every year I'm getting faster and faster.I'll will .i believe i can bust the 40min .and when I do I'll shot for a faster time. You are only limited by you self believe,it all in your head.i run and ride to build a stronger mind, mental toughness. Keep on going .believe in yourself. No human is limited.
My goal now is to run a 5K under 30'00. I'm 20 and I was a professional middle distance runner (4 years ago).. during a race my left hip gave way. After a year of reabilitaton doctors told me "You will be able to swim or to go cycling, but please, don't run again". Here I am. I want it and I will have it.
my goal the year is to start and finish my first marathon! Loved that quote: "Only the disciplined ones are free in life. if you are undisciplined, you are a slave to your moods, you are a slave to your passions." Also another quote I love: "self imposed disciple is the surest way to improve one's existence."
I'm 22 and lost 15kg in the last 8 months. I had stomach pain and cramps every day and couldn't eat anymore. No one could tell me what is wrong with my body. I went to hospital for 3 weeks and then they finally found my problem. I got celiac disease in the highest stage of Marsch 4. My intestinal villi are completly destroyed and thats the reason why I lost so much weight. I changed my nutrition and started running 2 weeks ago and I feel better then ever. I can only run 3km without stopping right now but I will fight to get back into life. My goal is a half marathon and later a full one. This video is awesome!
What i deeply love about an athlete like Kipchoge, it does not matter what he has performed, he does not feel better than other people, he is the man who is, wthout arrogance.
sub 5 minute mile by the end of this summer is my running goal ! I am running a 5:46 mile right now and I am putting in a lot of work and more needed to do this . I am going into 8th grade this year running a 5:46 in 7th grade and I know that I can work hard enough to get that sub 5 mile !! No human is limited !!
That’s good. That was my time in 7th as well. Then When I was in 8th I ran a 5:11 and now a year later I run a 4:33. So if you keep running like that you’ll def break 5 in like 5 months or so
@@danny_f_12 From what you said you had major growth in such a short time and I’m trying to run sub 5 in 8th grade track right now and I’m at a 5:29 any tips you have?
I’m just a kid in high school about to run a cross country race. It’s only 2 miles but I needed a little bit of inspiration before the race. This year I plan on making it to state, with a time as low as I can make it. I’ve improved a lot from this past year, and plan to keep on improving.
So my goal for the year is a sub-1:30 half, PB is currently 1:35 which was set 18 weeks ago. I’ll be attempting the sub-1:30 in 1 weeks time at an event I ran last year in 1:59. It’s been a crazy year, one which I too escaped with my life in a terrible car accident. Believe in yourself 💜
When i was 16 my weight was 130 kg, my relatives told me & my parents that i will not live longer, i was so anger of myself & i decided to run & run, everyday i run 4 times with 130 kg body weight+(i was good runner from birth) a day, and then after 3 years my weight was 90 kg and i became the best long runner of my district, i hv traines many aspirants for army physical enterance and various other players about running and breathing patterns..... u guys can also do it, just dont think much and lets do that.
@@dont_talk2me its not a secret technique of any movie, all you need is just to run with your mouth closed & start practice running while keeping your mouth closed, rest as you practice daily, your breathing pattern will become stable, lungs will grow exponentially,.. Just do practice daily & see the results.. Never open your mouth to breathe while running.
[READ THE WHOLE COMMENT] Reading these comments make mw realise what a beginner i really am 😅 Anyway, I've done 2 Half Marathons, ans my goal is to finish the next one in under 2h:15min... I know thats slow compared to the rest of you guys, but its a hard journey 😅 [UPDATE] GUYSSSSSSSSSSS! I just ran my 6th half marathon (date 13June2021) and i FINALLY reached my goal!!!!!! I finished in 2hr14min21sec!!! I FINALLY MADE IT I'M SO HAPPY 😭😭😭😭😭
Yes.... It's far slower than many other athletes, but as all of us know, when you run, You are running against yourself, not against another one. For me, breaking my PB is always fascinating.
Lmfao wanna compare slow? I started my season with a 32 min 3 mile..yes...exactly...and I'm a sophomore in HS. Yeah drop your jaw and scream it's pathetic. I'm running 24 now (did it today) and I'm on my way to sub 20 by summer break. Junior year at the end of XC I wanna be going sub 19. How are half marathons? I'd probably finish one in like 4 hours tbh I haven't ran one or have the strength to run one lmao.
My Goal is to complete a Half Marathon xD I trained a year for one (was running before but only 8km) then had an accident a month before it :c Im still not at my peak again and fighting with 13km right now. Because of Corona I have a messed up work shedule - less freetime and I cant go to the gym - I am running outside but I train my whole body and always going alone for a run is boring. My Bluetooth headphones broke a while ago and my family is nagging at me all the time. Sometimes I just want to give up because my progress is so slow or I dont have any at all. Sometimes its just to much and I take a break. But I keep pushing and cant believe how far I got after starting from zero after this accident.
Thank you for your videos. Very inspiring and motivational. Keep at it! You're doing a great thing for the running community. And thanks to those who commented on their goals. You've inspired me to dream bigger. Wishing you all success in your endeavors. I'm gonna tackle my first 100 mile trail race. Gonna take me a while to be ready, but I'll get there.
I will be 41 in January and I will become father in February. Today, after 3 years of hard training and sacrifices, I did run my second half marathon, in Milan, setting my pb in 1h16'31" under the rain. Eliud isy greatest inspiration. I will continue training hard and I hope next year I will run sub 1h16' and I will debut in the marathon. My goal is 2h42'.
I’m gonna run my first marathon in Berlin next weekend. I’ve been watching this over and over again since 2021… I just love it and it gives me energy to push myself to my limits! Best video ever!!!!
I'm going to look back at this video a year from now on and see if I made my goals mile: 5:04 atm I wanna get it down to 4:33 by next summer 800: 2:12 I wanna get it down to 1:53 by next summer 3 mile: 19:07 I wanna get it down to 17:30 I hope I achieve my long term goals by next year
Who else watches running motivations when they want to refrain from running for the day? I'm really thankful for those who produces this kinds of videos.
My goal is to be in the low 16’s by next year and to have a 4:30 mile time. I can do it and I know I can and once I do reach that goal I’m going to keep working my a** off and try to be in the 14’s my senior year. It’s going to be tough and hard, but I can do it and it’s worth it.
@@Dave-so7sf Yep. I'll have to run 3.11 miles at my current 2 mile pace. But, I think I can get there with hard, consistent work. Over the past few months. I have gone from running 30-40 miles per week to running 60-70 miles per week. I've lost some speed due to tired legs but have become an aerobic beast. When, I taper and begin to do speed work, I'll be flying.
Cian Bell my first meet is like in 2 months and I haven’t ran in like a month and Idk I really feel discouraged rn and I really wanna hit at least a 17.30, Ik it sucks but do u have any advice bro
@@angeltrejo6543 Two months is not a lot of time, but it is enough to built a decent enough base for high school XC. It's different for everyone, as we all have different degrees of running talent, but for me personally, it took a base of about 40 miles per week before I was in shape to run 17:30. I did a lot of 4-6 mile runs at an easy, aerobic pace. After most of these runs I would do strides: 4-8 x 100m at efforts ranging from 400m to mile race pace. Each weekend I would try to get in a longer run, 8-10 miles in length, starting easy and finishing at a more moderate effort. As you get more aerobically fit, feel free to add in tempo runs. For a 17:30 5K runner, tempo pace is about 6:00/mile. At your level, I think that 3 miles would be long enough of a tempo run. Long intervals (3-6 x 800m-1600m) at 5K pace as well as hill repeats are also helpful. Good luck!
My goal is to represent my country, India in the Olympics and through hard work and determination, claim the title of fastest man. I want to break the current 100m record
I had the worst Chicago marathon in 2017. I want to go back and break 4hrs. I’m 43 with back issues and 3 kids. My pace is 9:45 right now. I’m in the 7th week of training and running 45-50 miles per week. Thanks for your video.
goal = 6 minute mile. I used to be a Sprinter back in my younger days, 20 years later I Eliud has since inspired me to run again, but distance this time!
My story is not particularly good: I'm 22 years old and started running about a month ago on a whim (I was never a fan of sports, I used to spend my typical free day sat on a chair on my pc) and strangely... i found it almost fun. It made me forget for about 30 min my stupid little problems and I just felt good about myself, good because I was doing something for and with me. At the moment I hope to run 5k in less than 30 min, my personal record for now is 33 min!
My running goal: break the hour barrier in the half marathon I’ve never ran a half before but I’m making my debut at the San Francisco Biofreeze Marathon/Half race and I’m hoping to go at least 1:12 there, then chip away time based on there. I’ve come a long way from what I was supposed to be. No D1 college program wanted me because my times weren’t fast enough, I couldn’t even make the team as a walk on athlete. 2 years later, I’m running faster times than 85% of their TOP runners, currently looking to go to the NAIA Cross Country National Championship for the 3rd year in a row, and go All-American. Best thing about distance athletes is that we don’t peak until 30-35 years of age, maybe even up to late 30’s or 40, and I’m barely 20, so to all my young running buddies out there, don’t give up just yet lads and lasses. I was 18 when I was questioning whether I should even be a collegiate runner and I’ve accomplished more in the past 2 years that I would have ever imagined. Still got AT LEAST 10 good years of running left in my tank
My goal is to loose 25 kg in one year and be able to run 26 km ( i am currently running 6 - 7 km in 50 - 60 min at body weight of 120kg ) ... And I gonna make it
i'm 17 now, i left running two years ago due to some injuries, seeing this kind of videos gives me a bit of nostalgic memories, honestly my pr at that time is not that impressive at all my only decent time is when i get sub15 in 5k got that time cause of him, how great full am i to witnessed this man achieve the impossible.
My goal this year for cross country is to get a time under 11 mins for 2 miles. I'm really close. Thanks for the motivation videos its helping me out a lot.
I remember why I love running thanks to this little clip . I started about a month ago now and don’t plan on stopping except beer nights . I can’t run drunk 🥴. Didn’t go so well
My goal is to run my first 5k in 25min. I started running in april with 32min. on a 5k distance. Right now i need about 26/27 min. but i will train hard and focus on my goal🏃🏼♀️
When I was a freshman, I wasn't able to run for 8 minutes. Over the summer before my junior year, I ran 300 miles. It was tough, because before May the longest I've even ran was for 1 mile. Late May I started 3 miles a day, with one rest day each week. Vacation threw me off and I lost what momentum I had built up. From then on, I was determined to get 6 miles every day. And I did it, one day I even ran 8! Last week I just ran my first 5k in 25:01. Today I ran my second, which was a few seconds worse though the course was supposed to be easier. My new goal is to keep running with the top group on my team, no matter how hard it gets. I know I can do better if I train right. I will not fail.
I started running 6 days ago. I’m doing the couch to 5k training plan. I’m 300lbs but I know I can do it!! I also quit smoking cold turkey! I feel so much better already. I love running!!
Running a half marathon for the first time in 2 months and started training only two weeks ago but ran my first 10k last week, so I have high hopes I can complete the half by december. My goal is to just finish under 2:15
I have been feeling kind of depressed, and I didn’t prepared myself for my next race, but this video motivated me so much. I don’t know why, but I even want to cry. I’ll be more disciplined next time. Thanks for this video.
@@thewanderer673 and who defines 60 min for 10k is a good pace? Do you know lot of athletes believe 50 min for 10k is a easy day lazy run and lot of people doing 75min 10k is great pace? So I guess you are saying 60 min 10k is a good pace for you. Personally individually ONLY for you.
@@thewanderer673 no chief my point is there is no 'good pace' or bad pace. Pace is a pace and its individual pace . What is slow for me might be fast for you. It's all about efforts that's all.
