Nike Air Determination remains my favourite pair of basketball shoes I've ever owned, specifically the black and orange colourway. At least for nostalgia reasons.

Hey Chris, ive been seeing shoes that perform better in translucent rubber(puma esp), does translucent rubber last? Our "indoor" courts here are cement so I've been hesitating.. Anyway, great review!

The kd6 elite was my fav. Im currently loving the 16 and will snag the 17 for sure just bc I know I’ll love it. KD’s are the best shoes for my wider foot. Been waiting for your review on this. Thx mang
I have to agree with everyone... Chris is staying true and I'm happy Chris is able to do performance reviews again. I've balled in the KDs since the 11s. The 14s were the best. I agree that these are not like the 16s and the 16s are better. These are similar to the 15s in the fact that I had heal slippage.
I usually love orange colorways but this initial one made me want to pass on the model. Then I just saw the Penny one this weekend and I'm back on board! That one looks great. (Definitely going to wait for the outlet prices though)
I wonder why there are so many sneakers with strange designs and bright colors and in general with a lot of colors. While there are less and less of those classic or black and white, white, black with an elegant design that you can wear with almost everything, and many of these sarees seem to be non-stop summer.
This shoe is giving me so much of OKC Thunder vibes, which could be a coincidence given KD used to be with them! Sidenote, I can't wait for that OG AM Plus Orange Sunsets!
Great review. On the insole glue down, that happened on the 16s during a game, had to come out and fix it as the insole slid and bunched up. That's less a design issue and more a manufacturing issue.
KD9s have been my favorite shoes for years. The full length zoom air, cushion and materials are my favorite aspects. How would you compare those to the 9s?
1st. Loved the basketball footage. 2nd. The KD line is usually love or hate but the 17s I’m kinda in the middle…..weird. 3rd. Love the Since Apparel. Favorite is still the “History Over Hype” hoodie. 4th. QOTD : Which is more difficult? Learning Mandarin Chinese OR a blind man knowing when to quit wiping his butt? ❤

I don't play ball anymore and I wouldn't wear KD's casually, so this never was for me... but this is a terrible debut colorway for a shoe. Thanks for the video! The design language of the KD line in my personal humble honest opinion has been lost. They feel mediocre as well. Modern shoes are all pretty decent compare to 1-2 decades ago. I just thought they could’ve put in more thoughts into the design. (At least keep the good insoles… common Nike)
Picked these up and the glue on mine failed as well. It’s not that the shoe is uncomfortable, but the build quality is terrible. I would stay away from this shoe completely. Unless you wait for a later batch. I’m a big KD shoe fan and have used them all for hooping. The 15’s were the last good ones in my opinion.

I feel like the KD like has basically taken the place of the hyperdunk like in Nike’s lineup. It’s not really amazing at any one thing and doesn’t have a super strong identity as a signature line anymore. It is has however become a shoe that literally any basketball player can enjoy to some extent. Good enough cushion for most, good enough court feel for most, enough support for most, and decently consistent traction. All this in a shoe that you will likely be able to get 50% off from their website at some point before the next model drops.
This is Nikes redemption shoe for giving us the dangerous lateral movement shoe that was the KD 16 cant remember how many times i slipped and had court burns from the 16.
To me, i feel the air strobel in the heel and zoom in the forefoot is more stable than full length zoom strobel. I get how it’s technically a downgrade BUT my heavier body appreciates the more absorbent heel feel.
I remember when Nike signature shoes were all different now they are all just team Kobes especially when it comes to performance with the Kds and Lebrons. But at least the Kobes are the best so maybe it's not a bad thing
I gotta say, I really like the last 3 or 4 models of the KDs. I played in the KD16 quite a lot and actually preferred them over the LeBron 20 that same year. I look forward to trying these on to see if they’ll work for me
