I told myself going into 2024 i was not going to buy anymore shoes till i started selling some of the ones i dont wear. Yeah that idea went out the window. Mainly bc the sneaker market is slow and people are not buying as much anymore. I have sold a few pairs but not nearly as many as ive bought XD
So I don’t really buy sneakers at release day, but I really liked these. I joined the draw at 11am, waited the 10 minutes for the draw to close, then they tell me “sorry you didn’t get them.” Now I know why I don’t buy the damn things on release day. I shouldn’t have to beg a shoe company to take $190 from me for a pair of shoes. It shouldn’t be harder to buy a pair of sneakers than it is to win the goddam lottery
Welcome to the real world, limited supply and high demand means you don't always get what you want. Toughen up buttercup, enter the next RAFFLE and see what happens.
I have two rules, 1) if I don't wear them in a year, they get sold. 2) I made a maximum of 5 pairs. If I want something new, and I already have 5 pairs, I got to sell 1.
Make more Kobe’s John Donahoe!!!! Not just more colorways but make them in large numbers period! Tired of not being able to get any of his shoes! Been a fan of his since I was a kid man and all these pairs now we are adults we can’t get man it’s sad!!!
I’m a little mixed myself. Some I keep some I donate some. I sell when I’m bored of them. In total I have about 40 to 50 pairs of shoes. Some are for display/collecting the others I wear.
What a shame that they don't release a Protro of this with full-length Zoom. That would be as good as it gets. What's your favorite Kobe Protro? I remember that you really liked the 1; I can't remember how you felt about the 5.
I've sold about 30 pairs over the last 6 weeks on ebay just to get rid of the clutter. I love kicks but the older i get the more i dont need 20 pairs a year just to hoop in anymore...I'm 43
These are the ones I would get if I was going to get a pair. I'm a wearer though and can't justify the cost. There's a price point where it only makes sense to purchase if you're only going to hold them and resell them later... these will be there. Great to hear you're independent. Great video, thanks @WearTesters. My question to Nike though: how exactly are these a PROTRO, when Nike basically dowgraded just about every tech spec in the shoe that actually matters? The midsole is a darn downgrade of the original (not even a React pad in the forefoot, really?), that’s for sure, and no upgrade in the materials department either. Remember Nokia? I bet that’s how we’re going to remember Nike sometime in a not-so-distant-future, with how they are acting lately…
I have just over 30 pair of kicks and I rotate. If funds permitted, I'd buy more cos love me some SBs and AJ signature line with a smattering of one or two other pairs but it is what it is so am grateful for what I have 👍

You guys are real, simply put. Question: do you get FOMO on any of the newer releases, or do you just roll with it if you don’t get a new release?
Hoping at some point Nike would make millions of these so that the hype would diminish like the recent dunk low pandas which can now be bought anywhere at retail price, sometimes even on discount.
I am up around 240-250 pairs, still buying almost every week it feels like and trying to make an effort to sell more but they ain't shifting like I'd expect.
Any shoe that I haven't worn into the ground but am no longer wearing, I donate to those in need. I had the Kobe 4 Philly back in the day and the color was pretty much the same as the protros. the original version had #23 on the back and I never understood why.

I just took 2 massive Ls on these and the Italian Camo 6s, as I have with all Kobe Protros released last year 🥲🥲 I really wish Nike would just, pump out these Protros on a massive scale like Jordans or how Kobes used to be back in the day. Make them GR as heck so resellers wouldn’t get them and we who actually want them to wear them can get them

Currently at about 250 pairs organized and a whole bunch that are not yet organized. Luckily I have lots of friends with a similar sized foot so they always get first dibs if I'm "downsizing"

For all the Sneaker Heads who are 30 years old or older and who are Kobe fans, the shoes that matter to us are the ones that Adidas is going to release, I'll explain why... at the end of the 90s it was normal for you to ask your mother the Last Kobes or the last Vince Carter. At the beginning of the 00s, wearing skateboarding shoes began to become popular, so kids asked their parents for Osiris, DVS, DC, etc. No one asked for basketball shoes anymore, so the Adidas Kobe Bryant collection was the last great sneaker from the time when we all wore basketball shoes for our best outfit. Kobe's line with Nike is very relevant for those who love basketball and know about the sport, but for popular culture they are just another basketball shoe, totally contrary to what Adidas achieved by making Sneakers for Pop Cilture.
Not seen any release info for these in Canada so far. Not that Kobe's fit me anyway, but, they're pretty. I did state last year that I was moving to a one in, one out policy when it came to the collection. Yeah, that didn't work out too well. 1 pair in Black Friday, 3 pairs for Christmas, 2 recently, 2 pairs of Timberlands...

Don’t size up ? My Kobe knowledge isn’t anywhere my MJ & Retros I have the grinches 2020 pair in that 6 i sized up from tts up a full size. Never owned a 4, do you recommend tts ?
