completely relate with training alone, it’s refreshing not comparing yourself to others during the workout and working on getting faster as an individual!
I ran Chicago in 99 and had Kalid kunuchi on my left breaking the WR again that day and Oprah Winfrey on my right. It was bizarre. Went out at 1:07 half but the wall hit and ran 2:30 flat.
I'm currently training for the NYC Marathon this November. I haven't done any speed work yet, only strength training, long runs and some maintenance runs in between. My times have been improving, but no where near what you do. God Bless and good luck Zach.
@@ir9587 Yeah, clearly. I mean, I would take the sponsor too if I were him. Cause it’s still probably really nice. The diss on Garmin was just full BS though.
"Idk why my Garmin watches keep breaking......" Proceeds to flop watch around 😂😂 I've owned a 235 and a Fenix 5x, both solid watches. Garmin is the way to go
Love to see you back making some super high quality running videos again! Good luck with your marathon! May I ask what happened with your hoka partnership? All the best Zach 👊🏻🇬🇧
Training alone is great for long runs, but hell on speed work. I’m a really slow runner but when I have someone to pace off of I can hold a pretty decent pace. I think context of the run is important:)
@7:28 Either you need to go Galen rupp and get a pool and put a treadmill in it.. Or perhaps look at next level training and start incorporate some no impact crosstraining on a crosstrainer or maybe a bike ?? I have all my fingers crossed that i get to see you progress every year for at least 10 years ahead so stay injury free!!
The Strava Fitness & Freshness is not the best indicator (almost useless). First of all you need to use hr strap every time you run and also hr zones need to be set correctly. When your hr gets lower at faster speed Strava will give you less points and your Fitness score wont go up anymore. So Strava`s logic is that you are better when you always overtrain at high hr? LOL
Yes super weird that strava is so dumb. I'm a complete super rookie that can't run but I ware hr chest strap and run exactly the same roads at least once a week with recorded body weight and weather.. only way to get really accurate data.
If you break 2:30 with only 5 weeks of training I will be so impressed. There is no way I would be confident at the starting line with such a short training block. Hopefully you make it there healthy.
Five weeks left, not 5 weeks of training. Sounds like Zach has a couple 70 mile weeks in and a few 60s before that. I think he has a 2:22 in him. Unless we get one of those hot weather marathons.
You can wear them but they aren’t the best shoe for normal mileage. Considering their price, they are more of a workout shoe. If you don’t care about replacing the shoe every few weeks/months then you could wear them for mileage.
Don't know how it is determined. But I do know it is quite useless and inaccurate. If you consider a strava subscription for this feature, then I wouldn't recommend it!
No Need for Watch or Socks on Race Day... Zach Lever. Go Buy a Pair of Adidas Adizero. You will not be sorry or last and you might get a Great New PR... Good Luck from Dean Crummy... USA USA USA
